So last year, was a really tough year for us. We lost our daughter, Annie. People talk about grief, pain, fear, sorrow. All of these words, can’t really describe how you feel when you really go through the loss of a loved one. Even though we held onto hope, that we would somehow see her again, it was just a brutal time that we were going through, right at Christmas. It felt pretty hard to celebrate.
And then I found this song. It was just a video on Facebook by this Christian artist and he was singing about the very struggle I was having. As my wife and I listened to the words of this song, it expressed exactly what we were feeling. It also gave us what we needed at the time. That was comfort. So many people struggle with loss at this time of year, not just me. If you are missing someone this Christmas, I want to dedicate this song to you. I also want to dedicate it to Annie, my sweet Annie, who I miss very much.

I lost my 3yo son this christmas after fought a fierce battle against a terminal rare nerve disease..so many times in the brink of death, resucitated and came back again..just to give us a chance to say goodbye properly, to give us more sweet memories and then went to be with the Lord. Not that he had given up, but because he had accomplished his purpose, to remind us to take courage, to be resilient, and to keep the joy no matter what is the circumstances. Its a privileged to be his parents.

Christmas was so sad for me for many years...then a neighbor told me....."Well think about it. Down here we got fake ornaments, plastic figures for Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and so on. We lost our Daughter Amy on May 6, 2009 and have since lost our Son Jonathan on June 23, 2022. To lose a child is like having your heart torn out, your world turned upside down and leaves you with an indescribable emptiness. They both loved Christmas so much and so do I and my wife. It's ok to cry, its ok not to be ok, our physical bodies are not designed to take the loss of deep love. Somewhere inside there is something, our soul? our god? a universal spirit? My darling husband Richard passed away may 20th 2020 after many years ill health after being told three years ago that he wldnt make it. He was in hospital five months - one month at home an then two in a care home. He had heart failure an diabetes. I didn't see him.for two half months only three days before he went to be with his Lord. Became Christian two years ago last sept an baptised following Jan. It wld been our 49th anniversary this Friday. He married me knowing I suffered mental illness- bi- polar an always loved an worshipped me through many hard times!!! I'm lost without him! But like the words of this song ' he is in the arms of Jesus an free from suffering an I will see him again one day.i have a daughter in Yorkshire an a transgender Aspergers daughter with me. Life is not easy - I have spinal stenosis band in.lot pain. Injection cancelled just before Christmas.However on Christmas day I let go of years of unforgivness an was filled with the Holy spirit an now have the reassurance that whatever surpasses He is with me. And Christmas 2019 was the last time another one of my grand uncles from my dad's family. And now now he's not around anymore. He died on March 12th 2020. And Christmas 2019 was also the last time I saw one of my grand aunts from my mom's family. And now she's not around anymore. She passed away just today. Now nothing is the same.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I've read them and I find comfort that others know this pain, this hole in the heart, though it still won't go away. She suffered so much, fought so hard, loved so much. That feeling of raw hopelessness and helplessness and uselessness that I felt as her health rapidly spiraled. I wish it on no one. I could see that life in her eyes trapped inside a body that was failing on itself, reaching out. I thank her and the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi eveyday for letting go, peacefully and happily, because what I would've had to do otherwise is a sin that I would be rightfully damned for, in this world and the next. I paid Snoopy a visit today and hand-delivered her little Christmas tree and wreath. She loved going under and opening her presents. Now her and her big sister Pauly, who died very young, when Snoopy was just a child, can play under the tree together forever. Tomorrow, on Christmas morning, I will give my parents the best present I think they've ever had: The only existing video of Snoopy opening her Christmas present that I uploaded on RUclips many years ago. My parents went to a lot of effort to find a video like that, so I think this gift will give them some peace. Not sure if I can show a picture of Snoopy's Tree, but I can share my video. :) Though I am not really in the state of mind for any sort of festivity, I will say this because you all have been genuine with me and I see a lot people suffering right now: Thank you, I love you, and Merry Christmas.

This is gonna be the last Christmas I spend with my precious 4 year old niece, Crimson. She'll be returning to heaven soon due to cancer, a tumour in her brain that is not curable. I don't know how to stay strong, it hurts so bad. I find myself angry at God for wanting to take her so soon. But at the same time i pray he takes care of her and takes away her pain. On June 10th, 2007, Linda and I lost our precious little girl named Maria who was just 10 when she passed. It didn't seem right that we should lose her so soon after her orthopedic surgery. From anger to forgiveness the Lord walked with this dad through the timeline of grief. A few years after her death, my wife and I were led to sit down with her orthopedic surgeon to compare our grief journeys, to cry and lament, and for us to forgive him for this journey wasn't something either of us wanted, but it was the journey we were on. Our faith has given us the hope that we would see Maria again.

My 'crime against humanity' for losing my kids? I sought help when I had a psychotic break 2 years after the birth of my twin daughters! Damn me to hell! They were born with a rare genetic disorder that required me to give the shots of Cortisone every other day for the first 2 years of their lives. I also had to medically monitor them 24/7 during that time. So, I snapped. Surprise. By your user name I'm wondering if you, too, are a parent of multiples?

My son took his life 7 months before your son. So hard on a mother’s heart. Without the comfort of the Lord, I would not have made it through. This song was so touching and brought many tears.
