i love this channel,,my dream is to move to Arizona in the next 2 years,,so i should know everything about every town from watching all the video's on this channel...and i promise i wont bring any "woke" trouble to whichever town i choose,,im trying to escape that myself living in Illinois...😁
I grew up in Globe and moved to Illinois for 5 years in the late 70's for work. I moved back to Arizona ( Phoenix ) 43 years ago bringing along ( somewhat reluctantly ) my new Illinois born wife. She fell in love with the state and after a short period of adjustment swore she would never live anywhere else. As an aside, if you manage to realize your dream, it's almost certain that a lot of your new Arizona neighbors are from the Upper Midwest. Good luck to you.
I am a 3rd generation Arizonan and have lived near Tucson as my father worked for Magma Copper. I worked there for 4 years after graduation. I had a lot of family that worked at Inspiration way back and a nephew who works at Pinto Valley. I have a lot of family who live there and someday, I will probably move there myself. I am retired and currently live in Pinetop/Lakeside. We love fishing and Roosevelt Lake is close to Globe! It makes a great place to fish year round. Thanks for making this video and I enjoy all your videos of Arizona!
We have been traveling Arizona and staying in differing locations about the State. The goal has been to find an area that would be a good fit for us in Winter. Community is an important metric that Globe/Miami does not seem to have much of. We like the terrain around there and the lack of traffic and enjoyed our 2 week stay, traveling up into the mountains on 288 to Young. Just beautiful, and do enjoy the History which there is much of in this area.
My Grandfather was a boilermaker at Inspiration Copper Co. in Miami. I loved spending my Summers in Globe/ Miami area in the 60/70s. It was a long drive from West Virginia. A lot of very good memories.
I loved living in Globe. My twins started high school there and my youngest started kindergarten. It was a great place to live, work and raise a family as a single mom. I have a brother who lives there and loves it too. Who knows, maybe one day I'll move back.
A friend of mine took a picture of my house in Globe, and the picture showed a man (ghost) looking out the window. Is there a lot of paranormal activity around there?
Globe is in Gila county, and qualifies as a future "penturbian" town. I read Dr. Jack Lesinger's book "penturbia" before I moved to Arizona, mkore than 25 years ago. Penturbia refers to the beginnings of the fifth wave of population migratory patterns in the USA, suburbia was the fourth wave of this migratory pattern, which started post WW2, beginning in the later 1940's. I have heard (looking for documentation), that Globe is slated to be as one of the few Arizona towns, that is slated to become a "smart city". Someone here may have more info , about this if it is true. Great Vlog, really liked the interviews with the local people.
I've been through Globe a couple of times. The region around Globe and Superior are beautiful but at the same time somewhat depressing. Just looked impoverished and not a lot goin on. I would imagine most locals would say "Globe is a great place to leave."
10:40 What is the original name of the Salado people? Because Salado is Spanish for Salty and in 13th century i doubt the natives knew any Spanish at all. Spain didnt reach Arizona until the early 1500s.
That's right! You know your history! In 1492 an edict was given to expel all of the jews from Spain. Many migrated to here, which was Mexican territory until the war with Santa Ana, and the sale of the land to be apart of the USA territory.
I met a former phoenix policeman a few days ago, and in our discussion about Globe he told me also, that it was also the hometown of Chuck Norris, ever hear that?
Place is cool to visit. Not sure about the new go to place though. The crime rate is the same as Phoenix when adjusted, the city is not even a ten minute drive!
Rapid influx of people, and the infrastructure lags behind, which is always the case, example building roads to handle the increased traffic.@@wendaltvedt4673
Don’t move here. It’s definitely not worth the time and effort. You’re better off staying in the valley. The guy who made this video needs to learn how to pronounce “Cobre” right
I agree with you... don't know WHY ppl have to make videos clueing folks in on good spots? You can pick virtually any way to present info about great locations, but taking this bent for views and revenue to me is immoral. Let ppl do their own legwork.
Ahh, don't be so hard on the "gabacho" for his mispronunciation of "Cobre!" I'm one myself, but took Spanish in high school for three years, most useful class for me, that I use almost daily, still!
LOL i couldn't wait to escape Globe awful 🤣 place Nothing unique it is minning dump surrounded by other towns aka mining dumps people leave bc of cancer! I cant believe people are making videos of my teenage nightmare LOL. Do yourself a favor move to Scottsdale AZ much nicer.

This is a great channel to subscribe to, and listen to, if you want to expand your knowledge about Arizona!

Why did you leave Globe?
Nice job! Very interesting walk-around. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Tucson.
absolutely BRUTAL audio for the interview with the association manager
We run paranormal events in various historic site like the 1910 Gila Jail and the area is very active
A friend of mine took a picture of my house in Globe, and the picture showed a man (ghost) looking out the window. Is there a lot of paranormal activity around there?
Globe -Miami is a very active area as with most mining towns
the best thing about driving through Globe / Miami is grabbing 10 Burger House green chili burros for the freezer
Globe also has some of the best Mexican food in AZ.
El Rey!
Any recommendations?
I love Kingman!
that's not saying much

To each his own!
Wow so many history , nicee video
I grew up there in the 70's it was still a functional city. Moved up to phoenix and joined the aerospace industry

The "depressing" part will vanish away quickly, if there is another copper mining boom here, which I hope will happen sooner than later.

Me encantaría vivir en Arizona!!
Cásate conmigo vente
A mi tambien!
I had been thinking so. Views are too good to be ignored
I could semi retire early in Tonto Basin....place is cool.
Welp there goes globe
I met a former phoenix policeman a few days ago, and in our discussion about Globe he told me also, that it was also the hometown of Chuck Norris, ever hear that?

Keep Fishin
Are you back in AZ Jeff
I am was looking to retire in Globe or Stafford
I'd love to help you find a house out here!
What about living with some of the highest levels of crime per capita that is Globe? Has it improved?
It’s far better than any big city and that information is skewed and not correct. Much more good than bad.
well done. But toomany inaudible interviews.
Sounded fine to me. 🤔
I agree, they could have put mics on the interviewees instead of using the mic on the camera.
I think it would have worse growing pains than what we're experiencing in Maricopa.
how so

Dude, it’s all copper around here
Real-estate prices are rock bottom for a reason. No one in there right mind wants too live in the middle of a tailings pile.
I have read where there is a lot of crime in Globe.
I doubt that globe will be the next spot unless if they get investment
A prisoner tried to "EX-scape" did he? Twice you said it. It's escape. No "ex"...

Meth town
Deceiving video. Only filmed a couple nice locations. Look at the crime rate for Globe Miami and the area around the two filmed locations.
not really. Stay away from the trailer parks and their associated drama, and its a great place to live.
You can stay away from the trailer park but they come to you. Also the historic jail was just vandalized.
Globe is a nice place to visit during daylight hours, not much else happening and the crime omg.
Don't think so
Globe is a dump. Just my opinion.
I guess that your could say that "this is a pump the dump" video about Globe!
If Phoenix ever gets nuked, Globe will receive all of the fallout.
