I’ve lived in Trenton N.J. My whole Life. I’ve Ridden on Nj Transit a million times, but I’ve never once, in all my 52 years, ever seen a Double decked passenger Car. Amtrak has them, but I’ve never seen one on a NJT train. Still, it’s an awesome looking set of cars.👍🏼😁
@@CharlieDiamond-em5so How? NJT bi-levels are more common than the single level comet cars.
The F on the front of the locomotive is to indicate that that is the front of the locomotive. Your other diesels should have them as well.
I'm looking at all my locomotives and yes you are right, they all have that tiny F on there. Interesting little detail
@@MichaelN12 The little F decal to indicate a locomotive's front has been a practice since the dawn of the diesel era, it's not exclusive to the ALP series of locomotives.
I have the F on my Amtrak locomotive too
@@MichaelN12 the F originated in the times of the early diesel era, when several railroads like Norfolk & Western and the Southern Railroad preferred operating locomotives long hood forward.
@@MichaelN12 Why would it be important to know if a dual cab locomltive is facing forwards or backwards, isn’t the entire point of dual cabs to just be able to use both cabs?

14:50 the trailer cars don't have a door for the gangway because they are never deployed at the end of a train. Cab cars have a door so they can be used in the middle of a consist (with the door open) if necessary, but both vestibules of a trailer are always facing another car or locomotive.

F means front, because during the transition era, it was hard to tell on diesels. The FRA made it regulation for all diesels (maybe electrics, I'm not sure) and as obvious it is today, it's still around.
Electrics have it, too, in my experience, even if they have two cabs. There's still a nominal "front" cab. I'm not anything resembling an expert but I would have to guess it's important for maintenance purposes in particular to know which end is which.

Gotta get the old conrail engine they have here in jersey, it’s an old conrail sd40 engine, I don’t know the specific engine mode but that’s what I think it is.

how is the gap between cars compared to N scale? it seems the gap is slightly less than N but it still is not scale
How much was it? I’m supposing anywhere between £/$180-250?
I read here that it’s $120 for Dc, and for DCC, $200. I think that means about 158£ for the DCC, and 95£ for DC.

Nothing peers Atlas when it comes to detail...
too bad they didnt do the same detail for the N scale njt models. the bilevel cars dont even have the connection panel thats next to the coupler. its just an open hole. they only put the panels for the cab cars.
