Scilly Isles, Cornwall.

A couple and an old man travel by dinghy to isle of Tresco. M/S of people playing croquet near the beach. M/S of palm tree. A man drives a luggage cart to meet the tourists at the harbour. C/U of sign in a window - 'English Spoken Here'. A postman comes out of the post office carrying a sack. M/S of the museum of the sea - a shed filled with ship's figureheads, Mrs. Dorien-Smith is seen painting one. C/U of Commander Dorien-Smith, museum owner, looking at a map with a girl.
Various shots of daffodils. The flowers are picked, gathered in bunches and placed on a trailer. A tractor pulls the trailer away. The daffs are packed in a box by Jane Wyllie to be exported to the mainland. The boxes are then seen being loaded into a by-plane. The plane takes off. Aerial shots of islands.
Please note some of the commentary is incorrect - the lighthouse is not at Lizard and the town's name is not 'St. Hughes' but Hugh Town, St. Mary's.

This old film looks as though it was from just a few years ago. 1963 was the last year for those venerable plywood-constructed de Havilland Rapide biplanes. They were replaced by a single Sikorsky S-61 helicopter. Eventually, DHC-6 Twin Otters would go on to operate from St Mary's Airport.

It's not that same . I lived in St Martin's and there were only 2 vans on the island. One was mine , an old mk 2 transit van the other was the post office. Now there everywhere. Had to leave in 1985 and come back once in 86 . Things have changed and not the same .
