Definitely recommend trying a small patch of this solution before going all out spraying everything, I did this last year to my plants and it burnt the crap out of all my foliage, could see the shine from the oil residue several days after spraying, so I’m assuming that the sun was being magnified by the oil on the foliage, they all survived but lost about 75% of the leaves and hindered growth for several weeks/months
Probably need to experiment with the soap to oil ratio, as the soap will cut the oil. Don't use old rancid oil, it probably will be too thick, use a thin oil. Dilute more
I’ll add to this and mention it’s important to very lightly apply the spray close to sundown and make sure the plants surface are totally dry so the oil has time to set in without frying to the surface. Also it’s important to try and focus most of the spray around the underside of the leaves and the stem. I’ve had similar issues before with younger plants. I’d also highly recommend using NEEM OIL instead of a common kitchen oil.
Very nice re-use/upcycling of an old plastic bottle. Not only cost saving, but also easily replaceable. Not a huge issue with this sort of spray however it would be good to identify the bottle as one for the garden and not for drinking from.

I went searching for answers today after making up a reeper chilli, chilli and pepper, garlic and dishwashing liquid and water solution to spray on my plants. The white moth this year has just become so over populated and I just can’t get it under control. I figure if the reeper chilli knocked my husbands tongue for 6 then I was prepared to give it a go in the garden on some plants that are almost finished for the season so it wont matter if I kill them in the process of trying to work out what I can kill them with. This year is the first time we have ever had this tiny little beetle that is black and has the hardest outside shell. Nothing I tried from the organic lines has managed to knock this thing out either. I now have a runny nose from spraying the tomatoes and the beans. Ive had to change my shirt because I don’t eat chilli ever so this is going to be a shock to my own body lol Wish me luck and let me know if you think the reeper chilli is going to kill the pests and or my garden. Cheers Theresa
You don’t necessarily need to boil it, but I’d definitely steep it in hot water. I usually aim for water around 170-180 degrees instead of boiling water. I find it keeps the spices more potent at that temp steeped overnight.
@@anaschilling2668 Well in Thailand they fry them with lots of soy sauce. I've also had them fried with lots of chili. You can't really taste them though. Me, I just add them to the compost bin.
Plenty of good info here. Why does it annoy me do much when people say toomeric instead of turmeric, somehow the first r has gotten lost! I do like when people say white butterfly instead of cabbage moth though! Looked like they were having a party 🎉
What inspects is works on? All insects, or some? I got a black nasty n scary insect about 3 centimeters long with a big body and long thin legs. IDK what it is but I'm scared of it! Does this work on all insects? Or only some? Please let me know!!!!
Spiders don't damage plants at all, quite the opposite, they eat the 'bugs' that might. If you have lot's of Spiders, you probably don't need the spray!
Hmmm... did exactly as described..used in the evening by morning, all tomatoes and cucumber plants died, ..not were even 1 left. Try it on small area first b4 spraying it all over just like i did.. I am beating my head now😢
Is it going to be effective on caterpillars and moths? They destroyed all the brinjal plants I had in my garden. And Now they’re damaging all other plants by eating their leaves

Does it work on grasshoppers?
Bees don’t get put off ?
Great recipe thanks 🙏
Grasshoppers, not really, and the idea is to avoid the flowers so the bees still come.
Works quite well on caterpillars, aphids, and scale too.
@@ausfoodgardenany good recipes for grasshoppers?
Thanks for the info
