    I have the TRP Operator and that 1911 is my favorite .45! It’s a smooth shooter and has never failed even with self defense rounds. It sits on my nightstand with a 10 round WC mag and a 10 round backup ready to defend

    I CCW the 5" TRP Operator in 10mm and I absolutely love it and would trade it for nothing. It is a beautiful piece of machinery and runs perfect.

      Why did u go with 10mm instead of 9 or 45? Just curious

    Got my TRP in CA back in 12/2019, from a pawn shop, when I asked the guy for the price he said, its $700 but it comes with no magazine. Oh well I bought it anyway...😊

    Blended magwell means that the edge of the frame is blended seamlessly to the magwell to prevent the magazine from snagging when inserting it.

  • @Stealth639
    @Stealth639 10 месяцев назад +2

    Blended, means the mag well is blended to the frame, so that there is no step between the mag well and then frame, just a smooth transition.
    It does not mean the magazine is blended.😅

    I had a ronin operator, worst pistol ever, wound up dumping it cheap, decided to give Springfield another shot, bought the operator and low and behold sucked right out of the box...gun couldn't get through a mag without either failure to feed, or go into battery, was not taking a loss on this one, polished the feed ramp and chamber, found a good deal on a four pack of wilson combat 10 round mags, put in a wilson combat 14lb recoil spring...o...I also polished the stripping block cause idk why they had raised part number engraved( polishing it greatly improved) now the gun runs as smooth as my wilson and brown....idk why I have bad luck with Springfield armory, every time I read a review people seem to have zero problems right out of the box...not me I had to work for it lol

    I put the $10 Pierce rubber finger grips under the grips on all my 1911’s and I like them. Makes them easier to hold and I seem to shoot them better. Thanks for the video

    In 2023 there shouldn't be a single 1911 made without front strap checkering.

    • @ms.annthrope415
      @ms.annthrope415 9 месяцев назад

      They're machine checkered so it's not like paying for 2 hours of gunsmithing time. How much would if cost extra for checkering? The TRP is checkered to 20 LPI, so it is COARSE. It feels like grabbing a rasp. People have complained about aerating the skin off their hands after 100 rounds. But it will grip when your hands are wet.

    • @BIGSexy484
      @BIGSexy484 9 месяцев назад

      @ms.annthrope415 yeah especially for a big company like Springfield who has the machinery to checker their own guns I can't imagine it's that expensive but since there are so many out there who don't care who just want cheaper guns and are willing to use alternatives they probably just want to maximize profits catering to those people. Funny you say that I just bought 2 TRPS, the full tail and a stainless and I LOVE the 20 lpi checkering. I wish all my 1911s had it I like super aggressive texture on all my guns though and have callused man hands from lifting free weights. I'm sure even for those who have a hard time a little practice with them and their hands will adjust. Definitely worth it for the grip you get no matter the circumstances.

    The TRP is not really custom grade. It has some hand fitting, and parts are serial ninbered to the frame, implying that the parts were selected or fitted to that gun. This is in no way comparable to the Custom Professional, the choice of the FBI HRT team. This is more a Poor Man's Custom Pro. It's pretty decent, no rough edges and very smooth, but it doesn't come off the Custom Pro shop line.

    I’ve got the exact same TRP model as shown here. It’s fantastic. I did ditch the guide rod for a Wilson style GI spring and guide. I hate having to use a tool to take down a pistol. The do nothing for accuracy anyway.

      @frankmccarthy2624 10 месяцев назад

      @@usualsuspect5173 - I’ve had them with and without and I’ve never seen the difference. If there is any I think it could just be a few added ounces in the front of the pistol keep in the front end down. I’m not a competition shooter though but I do know the benefits of more weight forward in a shotgun barrel. I think though that it could be just that it’s a lure designed to catch the fisherman and not the fish. I did replace with a Wilson GI type guide rod and spring so I do believe in using quality parts.

    Armorcoat is not ceracoat. Magwell is 'blended' to frame angle cut. SA Operators are accessory rail frames....

  • @LukeMoen-dq9ko
    @LukeMoen-dq9ko 4 месяца назад

    Operator > TRP
    IMO it’s not even close, the operator has all the features except the Magwell. It shoots just as good if not better. Also having the Gi guide rod in the operator is so much easier to take down and clean than the full rail guide rod the TRP has. If you want quality and want to spend $600 less,
    Go with the operator

    I don't understand what's causing such a price difference between the two models?

    • @Dan-di9jd
      @Dan-di9jd 10 месяцев назад +1

      The TRP model is a bit more hand fitted parts whereas the newer Operator is mostly just put together. The increased cost is mostly to do with the labor increases but the two should be the same quality wise. Also keep in mind the TRP is on the roster for states like California which drives the price up a little because people want one there but only way to purchase is through a secondary market. The newer Operator is not on the roster for California.
