In the comics he lost his hand loooooooong ago like season 5 i think when he did it here i was like "omg no..."
Somewhere on RUclips they show the last scene it's just 10 seconds longer and.....
This isn't comic Rick so them deciding to cut his arm off was a horrible decision now he has to film with one hand for No reason. They should have let Michonne cut his hand off at the end because him doing it and trying to go on the run was dumb (this show has a budget issue and the writers are more focused on things that don't matter like dream sequences)🤦♂️🤷♂️

Scott, Danai and Andy worked on every episode together, if I'm not mistaken - with Episode 4 being written solely by Danai, as well as placed as the showrunner.
I thought that would’ve been the direction they would’ve went too. But I’m so glad they didn’t.
I just need the last episode to have a happy ending. He deserves to meet his son and be back with his family and his people.
They better not kill Michonne, either.

From what I understand AMC wanted to wait until the end of the season for the reunion but Danai argued against it. I know she talked about how she had to be the person to really fight for the romance and the way the love story was handled.
I’m glad she did bc as a fan I would’ve been livid if I had to wait all season for them to be together again.

Well, now Rick know how Merle felt like when he took his own hand to get out of those handcuffs. I'm sure Merle would've loved that.
Merles was worse. At least Rick did it in one clean hit. Merle sawed his stuff off

This was so damn good. The highest quality of writing I’ve seen from Walking Dead in about a decade and the production value was absurd. 10/10 episode

Not only is Rick cutting his hand off a nod to the Negan & Carl scene, it’s also a nod to Rick getting his hand cut off by The Governor in the comics.
I immediately thought of the Negan & Carl scene when his face went crazy right before cutting his hand, thought his PTSD from that moment kicked in lol
Also, it's a parallel to Rick making Merle have to cut off his own hand because he handcuffed Merle to the roof.
Andrew Lincoln wanted that as part of the storyline since Season 3 of the OG show, so he got his wish.

Michonne actually did push the helmet of the first guy off too. I went back and looked again. But this was a great first episode, I can’t wait until we get that ‘What the hell’ conversation between Richonne❤
Guy who played Okafor was an amazing actor , killed off way too soon…..

Michonne was making sure that she didn’t kill Rick. She took the helmets off and checked for Rick before she killed them. She has this planned. We will see next week.
Since, he was the last one, Michonne prob'ly wanted to question him for something. That'd kind of make sense, no? Or she already had some info about Rick being among those CRM assholes somehow.

@@madisonmontgomeryreal I did look closely and no, she did not remove the helmets of the other guys because they already had rolled off their heads when she killed them, only Rick was with a helmet still on. For that very dramatic effect, I am sure.

@@cassidy1454 Michonne was checking if they all were already really 100% dead, and let us not forget that she also had that old interest in avoiding that they turned into walkers, especially considering that their corpses wore heavy armor. Katana to the head to prevent turning, right? It is The Walking Dead still, after all!

If you don't realize when Okafor tells Rick about the cities he destroyed. They were Atlanta (Lori and Shane had watched it being bombed in season 1 or 2) 😱🤯🤯🤯

What I love about Rick as a character is that he actually feels pain and whimpers. He almost always losses in fights and isn't always right.
I really liked Okafor's character. Sad to see him go out after only one episode. Plus the acting was an easy 10/10. A perfect episode in every sense of the word.
perhaps he will be shown in those events that took place before his death
Andy is a phenomenal actor and Danai looked gorgeous with her braids and outfit changes.
I live in the UK but it was only a couple of years ago that I realised he was english. Same with Nick in FearTWD.
I love that TWD finally had Rick loses his hand like in the comics.

@@viper1436 it would of cost too much money to CGI out his hand for the rest of the time he was on the show and since this show has a bigger budget they can do that now.
I'm gonna say something you probably don't like, but it was kinda dumb they cut his hand off in the comics. That said, the prosthetic and the hidden blade are badass. But still, unnecessary.
It’s only been 1 episode and I can already tell this is going to be my favorite spin off.

Eight years since they've laid eyes on each other! They have a lot of catching up to do and a lot of adjusting to who they've become living without each other for so long.
Is that actually how long they haven’t seen each other? The walking dead timeline can be confusing sometimes

So happy that the first two spinoffs (Dead City/Daryl Dixon) were fantastic, and this one looks like it's still going to be the best out of the three of them.
They're getting better then their terrible spin offs before like World Beyond, but those were still just decent imo. This has been then first that's actually really good, now I just hope it holds up for the rest of the season. Fingers crossed!
Absolutely agree, I think Dead City was Okay, then Dixon was better, just lacking in a few areas. This one feels like prime TWD.

Btw just realized something, he would've lost his hand/died regardless if he didn't do it. Michonne swung and hit where the arm would've been.

I love how they took Rick out in a helicopter, then brought him back in a helicopter crash caused by non other then the woman that's been searching for him for at least 5 years or more.

Yes, Omaha falling as a city was in World Beyond. And I don't know if they'll say it in this show, but it was the CRM that was responsible. Also, Major General Beale was a name mentioned aswell. So far this has been almost a sequel to World Beyond more than the Rick-less seasons of TWD
I think Michonne killed the other CRM soldiers and kept the last one (Rick) alive to get information.
She tried to kill him but her sword hit his metal arm.

I started screaming "Katana, katana, katana" when i saw it at the top of my screen. I did not expect them to be reunited this soon. I don't usually watch the trailers when they come out because I want to be surprised.
I am a big walking Dead fan. The beginning scene was filmed 5 minutes from my house where he was killing all the walkers. They had trailers everywhere.. I unfortunately didn't get to see them filmed in my town but I did go to Jersey City New Jersey for one of the episodes being filmed but Andrew Lincoln had left earlier but I saw danai Guerra and she was so close to me but I was so starstruck when she said hi I said oh my 😂😂😂😂 I got a picture from afar but still I regret not asking for her autograph and pic

Not only did this 1st episode not let me down ( I was afraid that it couldn't live up to what I had wanted it to be after waiting for so so long) ...but it blew it out of the park!!! Freaking amazing and I cannot wait for the next episode

Bloodsworth Island where Michonne was is about 3 or so hours from Pennsylvania. Her running into him is an insane stroke of luck but makes a lot of sense.
I've been watching the walking dead since I was 8 years old way back in 2010 following this show was the most important show ever to me because I was into zombie survival game staff and the movie as well but this show is my number 1 favourite in my book
It was an episode that literally compared it to an episode of The Boys. An unexpected and bloody moment could no longer happen. Rick cutting his hand, and Okafor's death was very brutal. And reunited once again the two special person for this absolutely final end episode. RICK AND MICHONNE MADE ME CRY!!!😍😍😍😍😭😭😭😭

What a great start to the show. I’m sad to see Okafor go so soon, his scene with Rick talking about bombing the cities was 🔥. Michonne & Rick reuniting got me teary 🥹 I can’t wait until next week!!

Lovin the reactio especially the cliffhanger haha! Also i find this episode poetic. Its about love. He is continuously looking for love(Michonne) wanting to find over and over and then he gave up on love. And when he did, it found him.
That was bloody dynamite. Always nice to see Rick again. I survived all 11 seasons and i couldn't wait for this and i loved it.

When Rick left the show that's when I think viewership went down It's like having a Batman show with no Batman, Rick was The Walking Dead And when the show ended without him being there it just didn't feel right. Them having Rick cut off his own hand that didn't sit well with me.
