i really appreciate how she actually says that people's photos are edited, feels really honest cos it's something that frustrates me on instagram where we're exposed to impossible standards of beauty even from people who aren't celebrities (is that makes sense) nice to be reassured of this haha. You look beautiful with and without makeup
Some good tips to cover pimples. I've been an esthetician and makeup artist for over 15 years you don't want to over-exfoliate acne if you have a break out it'll just spend bacteria. Also do not use more than 2 acne products in your regimine. These products are made to dry out your skin. Even if you have oily acne prone skin ALWAYS use a light moisturizer. If you keep stripping the oils from you face your sebaceous glands will make up for the lack and make you more oily. Try to find one with an SPF as acne products contain ingredients that make your skin super sensitive to the sun. You don't need more than 4 products total for your regular regimine. Lastly if you are going to pop your pimples to avoid spending bacteria and scarring your beautiful use a sterile needle/lancet peice the pimple from the side and pull it out upward. Sorry so long... Figured if you watched this video it was b/c you had acne and thought I'd help. I've been licensed for a very long time. Be well - ✌️❤️💄
My skin is completely opposite, I have to pop my pimples otherwise they will scar and leave lots of texture behind. I only pop them if there is a whitehead on them though. Is anyone else's skin also like this?
Yes! And I don't understand because everyone says the opposite. But when I leave them alone, they end up staying there for a long time and leave a worse scar than if I pop them when there is a whitehead. I wish an esthetician would explain why this happens. And all these pimple medicines never work on reducing the pimple. I've tried so many. The only thing that has worked to diminish pimples if I catch them right at the beginning is a little of dr. Dennis gross Vit C serum.
One of my worst scars is from a huge cyst I didn't pop. It stayed there for 2 months and I legit have a hole on my cheek cause of it. I always gently pop them with a tissue over my fingers now.
I love that she mentioned that texture will still be slightly visible. That is so important, people often don't understand this and get upset when they compare themselves to photoshopped images.
this is why youre my favorite melissa. most wouldnt post a video with pimples all over and go bare face and go thru all the steps. we are all human and breakouts happen. i just love how honest and real u are. i love your channel and Meeka!!!!
it's funny because when I check my notifications you can only see a portion of the comment and it said "...I've seen a ton of your makeup looks but...." and i thought it was going to be a mean comment and then I read it and went "awwwwwwww!" thank you so much for being an OG subscriber and loving this look! Looks like I will have to create a tutorial for it from reading all the comments!
thanks so much for this tutorial, I'm watching it for my 13 yr old daughter, though at 43 I still get the occasional breakout too! Just a note on exfoliaters with those beads in them, I've read that they are causing problems in our waterways. They accumulate in riverbeds & even ocean floors close to cities & fish & other sea creatures are ingesting them which is killing them. I wouldn't have thought of this myself but have stopped using them now & look for natural exfoliants, or there are some on the market with dissolving beads which are much better options. I'm not sure if those made of quartz & bicarb crystals are damaging, just trying to raise awareness... every little bit helps save our beautiful world!
I don't know how I haven't discovered your channel earlier!!! Now I'm binge watching all your videos because I can't get enough of all your helpful tips and tricks! 🙌🏽
I've been loving my rose hip and vitamin E, thanks for the recommendation! I've been adding a drop or two of tea tree oil (I use NOW or Doterra brand) every night along with my rose hip and it's helped a lot with my blemishes!
I just love your makeup in this video. You look so pretty. These are colors I just adore!! Thanks for the tips. It's very helpful!! Much love always!! 😍😊
that tarte primer is amazing! its literally face spackle.so, if you have old piercing scars or a large scar on your face-use this stuff to fill the hole and it works! just make sure to pat/dab it on-dont swipe- or else it will pill up and get really annoying.
Thank you for all the great tips and for all the effort you put into your videos! I always break out like crazy during the summer and this was so helpful!
I NEEDED this!!! I have senior drape pics coming up and I was freaking out because I've been breaking out really bad lately so right now you're my life saver! Thank you so much Melissa! Also, I'm glad you finally got your lighting figured out! #snapchatfam
Another great video; these quick tip Tuesdays are awesome. All of you'd tips were great. And the Vitamin E is legit - my grandmother used it her whole life and her skin was beautiful.
Thank you soooooo so so sooooooo much for this video!!! I'm a picker (even tho I know you're not supposed to) and I've been waiting FOREVERMORE for someone to make a video for this! thanks so much girl!!! ❤️❤️❤️
This may be my favorite tutorial of yours (kinda tough I love all of them!)! I've tried the Lancer Set a few times as a trial size from Nordstrom and loved it! The polish really is amazing, so I got my hands on it again trial size from Sephora! You really can feel more of the little beads in it doing their job! I have been so curious about trying that Tarte primer. Thank you for this tutorial and for sharing about expectations vs. touched up photos.
I need a tutorial on this look 😻 and thanks for the tips! A new primer just broke me out, this video is very useful info on how to deal with the aftermath of the HangoverX...
A cheaper alternative for exfoliant is nuetrogina acne wash and apricot face scrub, that's what I use and it works great to smooth out my face. But if you don't have that you can go to your kitchen and mix sugar (brown sugar and white sugar work just the same), any kind of oil, a tad bit of conditioner, and some water.
I remember I asked for your advice on one of your previous videos on how I can hide acne scars and your advice was to use a salmon/pink concealer first, then concealer after. then you wrote to let you know how it went... I forgot to. IT WORKED OUT GREAT :3 thank you for the tip ^_^
I have always had skin problems. It is almost like I go through what I call acne spells. My skin will be clear one week, so I will notice and get excited and hope it stays that way only to find I get a break out that weekend into the next week. I love makeup(I wear it for myself, hence the fact it boosts my confidence) so this video really helps. Even with my more natural looks.
I tried out many exfoliators, but my go-to product for quality-price ratio is the "Bodyshop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion". They have crushed garnet stones instead of the plastic micro-beads (huge problem for water pollution) found in most cheap exfoliants. It costs £17 and one 100ml bottle lasts me for 6 months. By far the finest particles I have tried withing that price range and it works wonders, so if the Lancer is too expensive for you, I would recommend Bodyshop ;)
This is really helpful thank you! I definitely catch myself popping pimples when I get them and always ruin my skin. This will definitely help. Thank you!!!!
i really appreciate how she actually says that people's photos are edited, feels really honest cos it's something that frustrates me on instagram where we're exposed to impossible standards of beauty even from people who aren't celebrities (is that makes sense) nice to be reassured of this haha. Maari
I use Facetune for smoothing patches on my face so your not alone. Nothing wrong w editing photos as long as your honest about it

same, I get mine profesionally popped though

Yes! I have a lot of acne scars, like my cheeks are full of them and I NEVER pick at them.
SAAAAAME!
I love that she mentioned that texture will still be slightly visible. That is so important, people often don't understand this and get upset when they compare themselves to photoshopped images.
