That was fantastic ! Its so cool to hear someone start at the very bottom and climb every step and atttain the big important roles. Its essential to make a good service that the head chef knows the service user . Ive worked in mental health and homelessness and run a couple of drug groups within those frameworks but I am hopeless away from the coal face . I never had a 'career path' because I wanted to interact with the folks we were supposed to be helping. I am in total awe of your ability to move up and take on more challenges and responsibility and still be so rooted . Perhaps Ive been unlucky but whilst I never ever had a problem wirh any service user ( their behavioir was usually completely understandable given their circumstances) I often struggled to see what the hell my superiors thought they were achieving.
