the jerseys the players wear are manufactured in Canada (and probably the US as well.) I wish they were available to the public. Yes they cost like $500, but if a fan wished to order one directly from the manufacturer or team site (rather than having unsold merchandise in stores), that should be their prerogative
I got the Fantatics Jersey and was thinking of returning it for the Adidas, but after watching this video, I'll stick with the Fantatics. i just wear it around the house during game time. When you said they're more comfortable, that made me keep it. - thanks for the info !
You are welcome! I think you made the right decision! I will be making a video today about why I think fanatics are getting better in quality and could be the next heir to the nhl jersey rights!
The Fanatics jerseys feel more like sweaters than a jersey you would use to play a hockey game. I have never owned a Fanatic jersey. I have sticked with Reebok and Adidas jersey for my hockey jerseys. I know I prefer the jerseys with shoulder patches and chest patches. You have a nice collection of patches seen in your video. My jerseys have cost from 100 to 250 if I have done customization on them. I agree the first editions of Reverse Retro jerseys are hot and cost more today than when they were released.
Thank you so much I love collecting! Fanatics are less enjoyable for me to wear (just preference). What jerseys do you hold most dear to your heart in your collection?
For anyone that cares about sizing. If you want to wear with a t-shirt/long sleeve t order a size down. If you want to wear a hoodie underneath, order your usual shirt size (I wear a large t-shirt and ordered a Reebok medium back in the day and now a size 50 which translates to medium adidas jersey) I might get a size 52 for my next one
While I already know the information you discussed of the differences between them, I'm actually a jersey collector. So I always will do everything possible to locate and buy the Adidas "retail authentics" jerseys. That is as far as currently worn ones by the teams are concerned. I want the highest quality. Made in Canada (MiC) on-ice version jerseys I wish were available for fans to buy, but it is scarcely available unless we want to pay a king's ransom for game worns and honestly I don't have a desire for game worn jerseys. While some Fanatics branded "Breakaway" (replica) jerseys are not bad, I will never buy them as you said for collector's purposes. I only wear my jerseys to games and watch parties. With the New York Rangers as my original (and hometown) team, I originally have had the Pittsburgh Penguins on my short "never own" list. But an overnight trip to Pittsburgh nearly 2 weeks ago may have changed that where I'm willing to get myself one with Jaromir Jagr's name and number on it. Just for my collection, not for rooting them on or anything like that. And he is getting his number retired in just 2 months, so I might do it next summer. Thanks for posting this video! Really informative and well done.
My issue as a Hockey fan in Scotland, is the Fanatics are the ONLY reasonable option price wise.... We can only buy from a limited range of sites (USA Sports, Fanatics or the official NHLInternational website). The NHL site rarely has sales and only introductory discounts for new email sign ups. Fanatics here is usually anywhere from 110 to 150 GBP (depending on having a nameset or not). Whereas Adidas are at 245 and always come with a nameset meaning you cant reduce the price by getting a blank jersey and paying someone else to do namesets cheaper.... Sadly, we don't have 3rd party sites beyond Fanatics and the range available on the NHL international site is waaaaaaaaaaaay less than the merch available (off and on ice stuff) for all teams it's really just jerseys or hats but less range. I desperately want to pull the trigger on an Oilers Reverse Retro this year with Nugent Hopkins nameset as the Adidas one was too expensive for my liking at release and has already seemingly sold out... but 125 GBP seems a lot for Fanatics?
I'm sorry to hear that. Pulling the trigger on an addidas most take massive planning and patience. I hope you are able to get that Oilers RR! Nuge is a sick player to get on it!
@@stringsandsweaters think I'm gonna have no choice but to get the Fanatics version... Can't justify the Adidas price and wait for it to be sold 2nd hand and then pay more as it's a highly sought after Reverse Retro! Plus, we don't have other websites to get discounts on shirts like in North America 🥲 would love a Dicks sporting goods/Lids here
Does the Lemieux jersey have the thin crest and thin letters and numbers too? I been looking at it to by but if it looks cheap ill keep browsing the Bay for a CCM
that vinyl factory cresting of names and numbers brought in by Reebok and continued by Adidas and Fanatics should be declared a crime against humanity.
Interesting you say that, all of the mlb jerseys for fans are made by fanatics they just slap the Nike logo on them. I think hockey jerseys don't sell enough to get Nike to buy in. They made the Olympic USA jerseys which had many design fails.
Yeah Fanatics definitely has a better price but the quality drop off is shocking. Like it's almost depressing to see the difference in the logos. Prime green is the way to go even if you have to buy second hand.
@DrFritz I would visit the Reddit group r/hockeyjerseys and also join a few hockey jersey fb groups. I am in one called hockey jerseys under 150 that has great deals everyday!
Regular $230, $160 on sale now primegreen. It's much better quality than my older Reebok jersey, which I would compare to the present day fanatics jerseys. The pens logo is double stitched/3d. The front pens logo on reebok jersey is not sewn in.
If the replica Jerseys from fanatics are anything like the team shirts they do, you just know that the heat pressed and glued parts are going to fall apart quicker than you expect. I have non fanatics shirts, not jerseys from 5-10 years ago and while they are a bit rough my fanatics shirts from 2-3 years ago are already worse and in need of replacing.
I am not a collector or brand loyal between the 2. Money or price not a factor either, i tried both on back to back and preferred the comfort of the fanatics (50/60$ more for Adidas) so that's what I bought... Now after a little searching I bought the fanatics for $140 vrs $250 for the Adidas. I only plan on wearing it to games or playoff time etc. I get it if your hung up on branding but the Fanatics are pretty nice for the on sale price and they were the only brand I could find for my kid in youth sizes!

So who makes NHL jerseys now just Fanatics? Thanks
Fanatics will take over fully next season. Right now fanatics makes the lower prices jerseys competitive with adidas.
I wanted the Phillies to win. But they had a good run.
It was special, I suspect very few people would have had them in the world series when the regular season ended, Phillies fans included.
Just ordered my 1st hockey jersey, and it seems soooo big 😂 like they expect me to wear pads underneath
Hmmm, what was the size? I will say I like to wear them fitting bigger that's the style.

My Devils RR Primegreen is unsewn inside the back of the neck Have you seen that?
My capitals jersey is sewn, but it's from Dicks. Today I'm gonna unbox a RR from the fanatics store. I will show the inside in the video!

If you are a savvy shopper, you don't to spend anywhere near $240 for an authentic.
Why aren't Nike making NHL uniforms & merch ? The MLB, NBA & NFL don't seem to have a problem with the sports brand.
