It's interesting hearing the differences between the Canadian Air Cadets and the RAFAC. I'm surprised how big the differences actually are. We have far fewer ranks to achieve (just Corporal, Sergeant, Flight Sergeant, and Cadet Warrant Officer) and you're considered a JNCO as a Corporal and a SNCO from Sergeant onwards.
@@how2cadet500 Just about all commonwealth cadet programs asides from Canadian cadets require qualification and interview in order to be promoted to NCO ranks.
Hello! I'm a WO at my corps (army) and I was wondering if I could basically remake your video but for my army cadets corps. I think its really well explained and it would help the newers cadets at my corps understand ranks and especially paying compliments to NCOs. If you allow me to recreate your video, I would of course credit you. Thank you in advance!
It’s slightly different from when I was there in the 90s and maybe because I am uk also, it was cpl sgt fs and cwo to make cwo we had to be 18 have a rank of sgt or fs and we were recommended to wing then have an interview with the group captain, I made cwo
I just started air cadets, and I'm clueless about attendance. I know we come from at ease at attention, but then what? Do we say the highest rank? I have to fumble around on training nights, because my last name is first on the list.
My squadron dose this: Name called> go to attention> call highest rank on the parade>Go back to standing at ease. Make sure you ask your NCO's if you have questions.
I’m not sure about your sqdn, but in my sqdn, when your name is called, you come to attention and say the rank of the person who’s calling the attendance. If they’re a FSgt, we come to attention and say “Flight Sergeant”. If they’re a Warrant, we’ll come to attention and say “Sir” or “Ma’am”. But still, as mentioned by “How 2 Cadet”, you should talk to your NCOs and Warrants about how it’s done in your sqdn.
Very interesting as in sea cadets from ordinary cadet(OC)- to the rank of master cadet(MC) your called cadet or MC surname. From Petty officer second class(PO2 to petty officer first class(PO1) your addressed as P.O. Or PO1 last name. And for chief petty officer first/second class your called chief or cox’n. Sir/Ma’am is reserved for officers of the Royal Canadian Navy. Interesting that your giving your senior cadets the same respect as RCN officers.🤣🇨🇦
Im sorry im an lac. What is a proficiency level it it like level 1 2 and so on? Because i was a level one till i got my uniform because of 4 months of training.(i joined at the end of the year)

I am glad you found this video informative!
I love all your video Sir. I'm sure you will go far with your career.
this was super helpful! best video on this subject by far!
Glad it was helpful!
Interesting to see the difference between AAFC and CAFC, we don’t have FLTCPL only CPL and you have to call his/her rank. Also we call Squads Flights
You also have to be recommended by your CO and complete JNCO Course to be qualified to be a Corporal. Your CO can then promote you
Why?
@@how2cadet500 Just about all commonwealth cadet programs asides from Canadian cadets require qualification and interview in order to be promoted to NCO ranks.
@@how2cadet500it's to see if the cadets are actually smart enough to be the rank they used to fail and pass you but now it's just feed back
I remember a Corporal being a junior nco
yup but you only call out the rank of Fcpl and above.

Very interesting, differs a lot from the Civil Air Patrol.
Indeed!
Nice video! You should make a video about army and sea cadet ranks
That's a great idea!
Awesome video but could you do a video on the cadet band ranks?
Possibly!
Isn’t there just a drum major and pipe major that are different from the regular ranks?

Doesn’t it take a year to rank up after the rank corporal?
I already know the ranks but I find your video useful (I'm a corporal)
I didn't know the name of some of them in English though cause we are in Québec :)
Can you make a video on camps
I plan to
