I don't think there is another DADGAD player in existence that can hold a candle to this man's knowledge, mastery of compexity and emotion in executing any song on the guitar. A truly gifted man.
How to truly note his mastery, he is one with the feel sense of his music, the vibration is in true contact with his heart. His mind. His spine. The music is singing from his being... rather than from one medium such as his instrument or his hands. This 6th sense he's using to sing is like his birdsong to the wind. Regardless of tuning, the musical language and his phrasing are in harmony together like a beautiful chord of existence.
this was by far my dad's favorite song...they played it at his funeral, his own choice...:) difficult to listen to it but by gods how beautifull is this....i just have to listen to it over and over...
Jeroen Van Pottelberghe Im so sorry about your dad; yes your right this piece is breathtaking!! Your Father had excellent taste in music and so do you. God bless you.
For me personally, it doesn't get any better than this. I think we are all very lucky to be on this planet at the same time as Pierre. And to see and hear him play live is surely a gift.
This week I had the honor, for the first time ever, to assist to a concert here is France, where he isn’t as recognized or famous as in the US where he’s done a tour of 120 concerts! We were hardly 70 people and I had the chance to shake his hand and speak with him for a while. What a kind and generous man and musically just unique.. I also loved his introductions to his songs and anecdotes. Best concert I’ve ever been to. He also played this piece btw
In the mid-80s I ran the warehouse for an independent (mostly folk) music company here in central Vermont and discovered Pierre's remarkable recordings, most of which I now have. I wrote to him telling him how incredible he was and was thrilled to get a response in the mail shortly thereafter, from Maine, where he lives. Some day....
you are touching my heart. How wonderful it is to listen what you are playing on dadgad. I play dadgad by myself and i love it. Today i found you. I am so happy then - merci, magicien de la guitare
I made it about 40% and never got back to it. I got busy gigging and it fell on the backburner. What I did learn was the invaluable technique of bending the neck slightly to induce vibrato when holding chords. I only noticed the comment now because it was pinned so maybe its a sign I should finish what I started.
I have looked and listened for many times to this video and I've still not yet catch'd all the beauty in this one work. Music, I think that comes right from the heart and the soul. Splendid !
By far my favorite acoustic guitarist, and one of your best songs. I love how each one of your songs is like a constantly evolving and changing dance, You never play the same set of notes the same. 4am was the first new song I learned after not playing for 4 or 5 years( I know it's a different song but), your songs are so complex and deceptively hard to play. Not gonna lie I was pretty proud of myself when I finally nailed it.
Amazing, timeless. I've listened to his music for a long time, it keeps evolving yet in some ways never changes. I hope to keep enjoying the journey for many years to come. See you soon, at the Jammin Java show, Pierre!
such moving depths of emotion with each and every note...my eyes water and slight shivers run down my spine each time I listen to this wonderful expressive performance.
It doesnt matter how good people can play Pierre's songs, it would only be a good song. Never gonna touch his atmosphere ... Yes indeed, he is in his own category.
I love Bensusan, and , and so many Chinese fans love that song, for me personally , that song like some Chinese music elements, maybe used some pentatonic scale, i dont know, but Chinese traditional music used a lot of pentatonic scale... so anyway, In spite of my English is poor, but everybody can enjoy music, regardless of race, religion, or sex or culture or nation.
Five 'thumbs down'. So can these dissenters offer any constructive comments, I'm guessing not. If something is not to your taste, fine, but to input negativity that goes nowhere that anybody would care to follow? Well, that's of no use to anyone, don't you think? I love, and that's a great feeling.

Saw him live once…. Simply incredible! Best acoustic guitarist ever

So powerful! Thanks for sharing this. I am praying for him, and for you Jeroen. This is such a powerful song,
The music from heaven, I was deeply touched
I can see why. I’m tempted to do same. It’s music straight from God.
For me personally, it doesn't get any better than this.

right on, John

Fantastic! brilliant song, brilliant album, dedicated to Allen I believe?
Love the new album also
Hey Mike 😆
Would you make a cover of this song 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Voici la magie incomparable du Monsieur Bensusan! No fingerpicker stirs the human heart as profoundly as Pierre.
When I watch Pierre play I think often "wow, he is probably the best acoustic guitarist in the world". And I am sure that I might be right!!!
So beautiful and serene.
Donny brought me here
Trop contente de revoir Pierre Bensusan en concert ce soir à St Brieuc. 30 ans que nous ne nous sommes revus ! Hello silent passenger !
Straight from heaven above!❤️❤️
.. my favorite song ♡
lovely. really enjoyed hearing him live last spring.
Unmistakably honest and human on all levels. You embody what it means to make music. Thank you, I'm putting this song on the to-do-list.
How did it go? 😃

Pierre Bensusan is without doubt the best, the most emotional, the most emotion inducing guitarist of all time - I just love him.
Maybe not the best of all time, but he is likely one of the greatest, if not THE greatest DADGAD guitarist of all time.

Beautiful sound of music.
an endless journey inside a song
A beautiful and intense performance Pierre. I enjoyed it very much.

Incredible. Music with a hotline to your soul.
Beautifully put. I can't improve on that. 👏
such moving depths of emotion with each and every note...my eyes water and slight shivers run down my spine each time I listen to this wonderful expressive performance.
Wonderful playing. Also like the understated stage presence.
Thank you!
The greatest most creative guitar artist in the world!!
Thank you!!
Wouw 😮
Fluent and accomplished playing of a lovely composition.
So beautiful.... Pierre we love you....
beautiful, sublime
Bonsoir Pierre...
Merci pour ta musique intemporelle... Je vois avec plaisir que la "Old Lady" a su garder une belle jeunesse...
IS THERE ANYONE that plays like Pierre?
There are many talented and unique fingerstyle guitarists. But I put Pierre "in his own category."
maybe Billy Mclaughlin, on occasion.
It doesnt matter how good people can play Pierre's songs, it would only be a good song. Never gonna touch his atmosphere ...
Yes indeed, he is in his own category.

Wonderful......
Pierre Bensusan, ou comment vivre une musique. Excellent!
Great!
Admirable, simplement.
very nice!
very nice~!!
I prefer these vids that only have say less than 100,000 views, because they almost have no dislikes.
Monstrueux Pierre j'adoooorrre !! Niko
Good!!
un génie, point barre.
hearing is believing....
even Dexter would show emotions after this
Anyone thinks this old guitar sounds better? :)
5 people don't like this style and that's okay.
