This video was filmed over two weeks as weather allowed it to look seamless. A lot of prep for a hotdog tent. I’m sure the phd grad thought the design was awesome but now you see the reality.
Suggest you set up a fire with some twigs to chase away unwanted insects and even wild animals. With a fire burning, you get to feel warm and protected and of course light against darkness and the unknown.
All that rain and all you have is a tarp and a bench to sit/lay on with a very small canopy! With your huge backpack I expected to see a fill blown tent.
