@@Thebohemiangirl1You are so right about hospital caused injuries.
Last spring I almost died after coding twice because nurses and doctors wouldn’t listen to me about being allergic to cat scan dye, and to hydromorphone.
I was then hospitalized for a week, badgered every day to have another CAT scan, lied to several times, and developed afibulation due to the stress.
If I had been very elderly and confused, or did not speak English like many of the patients around me, I would’ve died for sure.

You are very right about receiving terrible medical care if you’re older and female; you are devalued.
When I tore a meniscus in my right knee four years ago, the orthopaedic surgeon in the hospital refused to do an MRI, saying he’d be laughed out of the hospital. When a nurse questioned him, he said I’m not doing an MRI on a woman her age. When things did not get better with just Physio, the physiotherapist wrote him a letter asking for an MRI, and when I gave it to the Dr he was really angry at me, and still refused.

Do they pay to do so? Nah nobody gives a sht - just sign papers ,If you got fried - whoopsie ,we warned you "Don't be an idiot! Follow safety. Take 60!"...

  •  5 месяцев назад +19

Someone did something wrong. There are too many do's and don'ts in the training of crane safety for this to have been an accident. You need to be trained and then you need to do exactly what your training says to do. Working here in Alberta most of the oil companies will run you off if you make one simple move that does not comply. The smaller one's can get lax and they do slip up on safety, but the big boys won't tolerate it. Your gone, and the company, or sub contractor you work for, may be gone. So, yup, someone let their guard down.

More safety measures must be taken so that this can be prevented in the future… zoning off rigging areas and making sure it is completely clear of personnel should be mandatory. Been on sites for 18 years and this has always been an issue. The last site I was on was the reason why I quit the industry completely, it’s gotten worse through the years. Wage cuts, skilled labour cuts, strict and unrealistic deadlines, rushing skilled workers to do the job faster, leading to low morale, etc.

Poor rigging practices and STANDING UNDER THE LOAD ! -- Stay outta the bight !
You all should be Union Carpenters and go to school at the Pile Drivers Union
I have been on enough construction sites to see the hacks that work in these places.
Non Union, untrained, un professional, dangerous hacks ... I am glad I got out long ago.
Tragic doesnt describe it .. this poor lady and her family.

@@zCATAHAz - Well, not where I am from - you do some pretty hairy shite on the water in the middle of nowhere - and hammers are up to 32 tons.
You have to hold rigging tickets and there is a real difference between the hacks on highrise construction sites - at least its alot more regulated - high rise construction is a gong show at best.

    • @zCATAHAz
      @zCATAHAz 5 месяцев назад

@@nikosjasonfakaro9187 right ,its a different game - we have all the regulation on paper ,but in reality if we start to really follow it will take 10 years to build a 10 floors.
Those cranes cover all site usually - so every body will need to wait only to get in and out ,you will need 20 spotters and ho we can even work on exterior so everything will be waiting for everything ,crane for swing stages ,swing stages for window guys... so its mostly pretending to make it safe... I bet tomorrow they will add another paper on my site - we had welder fell got extra paper to sign next day - bs safety...
Ps - just imagine how many ppl and equipment you will need to hang a piece of drywall from a ladder having 3 points of contact all the time - not gonna happen ever ,but if you hurt - we talled ya 3 points ,shoulda listen ya dummy...
