    I just love hearing about positive pregnancy experiences! I always been SO SCARED about pregnancy that it was almost anticlimactic when I had a super light experience being pregnant. I was just always expecting things to suddenly be hard and scary. It really took away a little bit of the joy of being fine for the majority of the time. Congrats on your baby! So exciting 😍

    • @Loepsie
      @Loepsie  11 месяцев назад +8

      Oh me too! You hear so much more about the negative experiences but many pregnancies are just... Very doable? I expect (/hope) labour & delivery will be much the same, haha!

      @@Loepsie that’s why I wanted you to know that even with what I think was placenta previa and losing a lot of blood, by the time I arrived at the hospital everything was fine and I had the baby the next day within an hour. I was so sad when we decided we were done having more kids. Every time the baby grew out of her tiny sleepers, or a cute onesie I would feel like she was our last child and she was growing up too fast. I wanted her to stay little a while longer. No one knows how their pregnancy or birth goes and so much is out of your control. Concentrating on the positive stories and enjoying them goes a long way toward easing your anxieties

    My kids (4 daughters) are all in their 50’s and my oldest has 3 grandchildren of her own (making me a great grandmother. The way you are experiencing pregnancy is very like the way I felt. Only a little bit of sleepiness in the first trimester and a bit of heartburn near the end. But I was always energetic and I was so efficient during the time I was pregnant that I got a lot done. One day my sister and my cousin came to pick me up near the end of my first pregnancy. I got into the car and they were both laughing and thinking it must be t my expense I asked “What is so funny” They said they were laughing at me skipping down the stairs at almost 9 months pregnant. They said the had to crawl up and downstairs at that point. I will mention that I did have a little bit of a complication that probably would be handled differently now. I woke up in my last week of my pregnancy with a feeling that I’d wet the bed thinking yay my water had broken. I got out of bed and looked and it was a lot of blood. I mean a great pool in the middle of my bed. I went to the bathroom and blood was coming down my legs with large clots all the way there. We rushed to the hospital (nowadays I would have just called an ambulance) and I was admitted to the labour and delivery area. They kept checking the fetal heart rate and all the normal things (no ultrasounds back then - I did have an X-ray) and since the bleeding had completely stopped once I got there so they said in the morning they would induce me. Nowadays I would say that I had placenta Previa but they never said so. The next day at noon they broke my water at noon and at about 5 minutes to 1 I said I had to push and she said “no sweetheart it will be a long time before that happens” but she checked and said oh my and ran with me on the stretcher to the delivery room and she was born about 5 minutes later. They explained that what happened with the bleeding “sometimes happens” and if the bleeding stops it’s safe to just wait it out or induce labour. It was totally fine I had the most beautiful baby girl I’d ever seen. I had 3 more pregnancies after that and all were born after a “cannon ball” delivery of 1 hour or less so each time they induced labour in the hospital because they didn’t want me to have the baby at home without medical assistance. No home births at that time. So even with what I felt was a little blip with the bleeding and the scary trip to the hospital, everyone was fine and I never had a problem with any later pregnancy.

    My first child was so big she did not drop into my pelvis so basically dilation and effacing were never going to happen. I had a planned cesarean; because of when and where a vbac for my second child was out of the question. She was also born by cesarean. I can honestly tell you the worst thing about it is the weirdos on the internet who tell me I'm not, nor have I ever been, a mother because I didn't give birth.

      Right! What kind of mother would I have been to insist on the impossible and let my baby die in utero and then die myself? What about the mothers of adopted children? What about stepmothers and foster mothers? There is more than one type of birth and more ways than that to be a mother, or a father while we’re at it.

    By the end of both my pregnancies I was so huge that my husband often had to help me get undressed at the end of the day. Oh, the "is it gas or is it the baby moving" is sooo relatable 😂 I had no clue until week 24, and that evening my husband and I were both able to feel our baby. That was a wonderful moment!
    I am quite short and had a comparatively big belly, particularly by the end. There were in fact people asking me if I were carrying twins 🤦 In the end, it was just a relatively big baby and a big placenta. And 5 extra kilos, I have to admit 😉

    Public Service Announcement! Our guts/tummies are supposed to be a wonderful garden of good bacteria. This garden starts with what we get from our mothers when we come through the birth canal. This good bacteria helps our guts/tummies to heal up so that only the nutrients from the food we eat gets into our system. If the larger particles of food enter, our immune systems attack them and make us allergic to them. If you have to get a C-section make sure the doctor knows to take some of that good bacteria and rub it on the baby's face; it will have the same effect as if the child came through the birth canal and the child will be healthier.

I had to have a C-section, as well.Tubes tied right after delivery. But then I was 39, giving birth to my first. And he was beautiful, looking just like his me as a newborn. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes just as well. The end part of mine, I was covered in an itchy rash. Doctors said I was allergic to the part that was my husband...that blew my mind.😉

We learned a few weeks ago we were also having a boy and I felt the same as you 😂 I didn't really care about the baby's sex, but we had THE PERFECT girl name (also saving for a possible future sister) and we still don't have the right boy name, still have to give it a thought! And also about sewing clothes, I was also like...mmmm I'm going through a ruffle and extra feminine era and I was like....now what? but I've been getting inspo for boy and I'M LOVING what I'm seeing!.
    And the breast part...I can't believe they keep growing 😭they are already super uncomfortable even with good-fitting bras!
    Good luck with the final part!

    Excited for you! Haha same, when I imagined having a girl, doing hair, sewing clothes. But, I love love love having a boy. He's been so easy and it's been great, especially in the tween and teen years. He's 13 now, and being a boy mom is the best and I love it so much!
    My feet swelled with fluid in 3rd trimester, but didn't grow after pregnancy. I was a U.S. size 5 before pregnancy, and still am many years later. Also, I have naturally curly hair and my hair did not change at all during pregnancy or after. I had zero post partum hair loss. I did not get bigger after preganacy either. I am the same size in clothes and most measurements as before pregnancy. My chest went down back to my usual size when I was done breastfeeding. In sewing, my hip measurement increased by one inch, waist and bust stayed the same. So, all of those changes aren't inevitable. I eat healthy and am very active, that helps a lot. I think a lot is genetic too. My sister and I both took after our mom in both pregnancy and post-pregnancy. I often looked to my mom to guess how I would be during and after pregnancy, and was almost identical to her!

    I had an emergency c-section alone (husband was getting vaccinated, it wasn't his fault) and honestly? Now that I'm 3 years past it I feel like it wasn't that bad. I had secretly wanted a C-section anyway so it was kind of a relief. 4/10

    If you are interested in natural hair care I highly reccomend Katherine Sewing's youtube channel. She is a mother of five, and has dealt with all kinds of hair challenges dues to pregnancy and other things. But her hair is sooooo beautiful. What I have learned from her has SAVED my hair!

    I can't stop thinking about the old wives' tale that says your body and mind will benefit from carrying a boy, while being pregnant with a girl draws all beauty from you and make you feel miserable, bloated and sick!!
