What a strange fix. I’m not a car guy. That was very interesting. About ten years ago the engine light came on my truck. Went to the dealership to see what was the issue. I had a small child at the time, didn’t need a breakdown with her in the car. 4 hours later, the dealership technician informed me the issue can be fixed in two days, $1,576 US dollars. To me: the money was not a big issue, the safety of my child and passengers were the issue. Not to mention a two day car rental. On my way home, stopped for gas. An employee at the dealership came up to me and said. (I had seen her at the the dealership). She said the fix was very simple. She walked me thru the process. It was a pug and play part. Went to auto part store. The part was $65 dollars and I was able to fix in 20 minutes. Sometimes dealership are as croaked as they come. By the way the girl at the dealership. I married her two kids later. I’m still not allowed to take car to dealerships. Haha, I guess it worked out in the end.

ArtByAdrock I just orderd the loop but My problem is the amplifier in the far left corner of the trunk not the satellite where you plugged yours into. Do you know what’s the purpose for that amp? If the loop works do I really need to buy a new amp?
That I’m not sure.. the whole system on bmw cars is on a loop so if one goes they all go. If you pin point the problem that went out you’ll know where to bypass it. If it’s the amp you might need to replace it to get certain things working. I’m not a mechanic so I can’t tell you for sure. The bypass though might at least turn something on to give you and idea of what is and isn’t working. If it does work though I’d love to hear about it that it was a success.

I wish I could tell you yes but I’m not familiar with that year. I doubt they designed the electronics the same back then so it might just be an amp or fuse blew somewhere. Hopefully someone else can jump in and help you
I bought the the piece that’s already cut off and nothing worked... but also I have the sos and no sound to emergency seat belts and no sound when doors are open. So what do you suggest is wrong with it ?
Hi guys, my BMW X5 E70 3.0sd also has a chime/sound problem. It already gave an SOS malfunction on the dashboard since I had the car, but one year later - out of the blue - the car got completely silence. I still have the SOS malfunction on my dashboard, all other things seem to work, bot NO SOUNDS, NO CHIMES, nothing! Bought the by-pass connector (had to cut some plastic), tried it on several boxes that I located on the left back of the car, but still nothing happens (I think I tried 3 connectors there and they all had red lights on the fiber cable when I unplugged it). Are there any more boxes located in the car? Have I missed one? However, the day it stopped working we've had a very heavy thunderstorm and there was water on the inside of my car (exactly where the boxes are located there was water on the bottom that came in through the back lights). What got be my issue? Thanks in advance!

so if i have audio and no sos, but its super quiet ( i just replaced the dash part) would this work?
Hi, Thanks for the video.Just bought a 2008 335 E92 without any audio from the Car, after watching your video 2 days ago, I bought the bypass optical loop from Canada Amazon and I've received it today. Tried it in my Car and NO sound still, but the SOS light is gone and I can connect my phone to the Car Bluetooth (of which I do not know if the car has bluetooth before). Please where do you think I missed it? Or is Canadian optical loop different from the States? please advise.
Ematech Resources LTD did u figure it out ?
You probably won’t answer but worth a try, radio stopped working only or also did the Bluetooth and call system ?
Good news matey I just finished lathing the Graphite coin molds and they came out bloody great I’ll send em your way probably Monday or Tuesday afternoon with some other goods as I have to go to post office early this week.
Also what do you do for a living? I’m a plant operator 🤨
Oh that’s awesome I can’t wait! I’m a bartender/restaurant manager for a local tavern
Tried it and still had no sound. Light was blinking red so it had power. Anything I can possibly be doing wrong?
I’ve had this same problem and I can’t figure it out. I’ve bypassed the same thing that you did and I get the red light at the connection under the dash so the loop is complete but it still isn’t working for me. What else could it be?
Do you think this would work on my 2000 528i wagon
Do u thing same problem with my 2004 BMW X5?
Would that work for a 430i 2018?
Hi there will it work for a 2007 650i? And where would my module be located? I have idrive and screen is just pitch black and no radio no stereo ..
L. Herrera in the trunk on the left side of the wall
I have a 2011 z4 the same thing happened but I don’t see that unit could it be somewhere else
Thanks I ordered the part! Hope its the right one because I ordered one from before but it was the wrong size
@greed6814 pls tell me
so your amp failed which means you’re bypassing it. check all speakers some may not be getting power. as well you could end up overloading the bridge and burning it out sooner than later
What’s the module called on Amazon?
Is there a specific name please fir that plug you installed
Hey bro my radio doesnt even light up. You reckon this will solve my problem aswell? Checked the fuse apparently they all fine
I’ve got the same issue but can’t make bluetooth phone calls either. Not seeing anyone else mention that. Wondering if this will fix both issues?
I have a 2008 BMW 535 I twin Turbo having similar issues with the SOS symbol but radio works fine CD player works fine but my auxiliary is greyed out can you help
It could be a similar problem but I’m not completely sure. You could get the part and try it on the different boxes in your trunk but I’m not sure if it will help
i have a 2006 bmw 325i and my sound occasionally works then it cuts out. will this work for my car?
Does it mess with the quality of the sound or is the sound normal as it shoot be with this hack?
Me, on my bmw x1 the radio just stop if I put the volume up, like its working at a certain volume but above this limit the radio stop working. I also have the sound on only one door in the front, but the sounds change of door everyday. One day on the left side, the day after the other side....
What about the auxiliary? My radio works but my aux does not. I bought the aux piece and still nothing I have a 2008 128i bmw...
what is the name of this cable and where can i buy it sometimes it makes noise sometimes it doesn't work
Anyone know if this will work on a 1994 bmw e34 ? Thanks
I wish I could tell you yes but I’m not familiar with that year. I doubt they designed the electronics the same back then so it might just be an amp or fuse blew somewhere. Hopefully someone else can jump in and help you
Not likely...
I bought the the piece that’s already cut off and nothing worked... but also I have the sos and no sound to emergency seat belts and no sound when doors are open. So what do you suggest is wrong with it ?
Where did you get the piece with no housing?
Help with a 08 135i, I have same issue, except my radio is blacked out and no car audio whatsoever, is the radio broken?
That I’m not sure. If the radio is completely blacked out it could be dead altogether 🤷🏻♂️ I would check all fuses first and try and narrow it down
Hi guys, my BMW X5 E70 3.0sd also has a chime/sound problem.
I’m not exactly sure but something could have gotten fried from the water. Could be the wiring shorted somewhere. Wish I could be more help
