- Parking can be a sport in Philadelphia. There's nothing worse than finally finding a spot, then finding cones in that empty space.
Some say they move the cones, but others don't want the drama that could come with that.
That's why the Philadelphia Police 15th District is stepping in.
They're going to enforce the rule: "No savesies." #news #philadelphia
6abc.com/phila...
If you need to park in front of your house and need it medically get a handicap tag and sign.
I feel like even though it's the police that moved the cones, they'll still get mad at you for parking in their imaginary "spot."
City is overcrowded, multi-family units and apt buildings have increased the # of residents per block/area. Add to that the space reserved on streets for fire hydrants and septa stops, multi car households have increased dramatically, mom has car, dad has car, son has 2 cars, all parked on the same street!!!!! Shyt is crazy
Gotta buy a home with a drive way
Definitely the goal!
Well, stop building property and taking space to park then. This city is ridiculous smh.
What we really need are parking lots we're so damn overcrowded!
finally the Philadelphia police are doing something great i get tried seeing stuff like that and is not even snowing
Some people get very territorial over parking spots. Finally they’re doing something about it.
This has been a war on my block for the past 3 to 4 years...I'm beyond over it, it's ridiculous!
For real it is, but one thing I take personal is when someone puts a cone right in front of my house like it’s their spot,.. that ain’t flying with me no matter how nice the neighbor is
What about parking on the sidewalk?
what about fear of rising insurance costs by being sideswiped by some nodding out dipshit behind the wheel? what about nuking kensington to cut down on junkies behind the wheel?
Agreed and if you own home city send letter you have to fixed it 😡
That's illegal. Call to have vehicle removed or ticketed.
Some streets are too tiny to park on therefor having to park atleast partially on the sidewalk!
This is wonderful news. PleAse come to 35th district..
24/25th district needs this enforcement for sure
In Kensington there are Cones everywhere and plenty of parking on the sidewalks and nothing gets done about it.
That's because it's Kensington
I got my car keyed before for moving a cone on a cross street because there was no parking availabke on my block where Ive lived for 25 years !
These cone lovers can be vindictive.
How about getting all the abandoned cars off the street next
Please and thank you!
They will if you call them. They moved 6 from y block very recently.
@@iCuL8r-tz2uq who do you call please let me know i have 8 on my street for 6 months now and I have called 311 many times no luck
Somebody gonna get shot for that parking cone or not
That is what the big concern is. Please we have more issues in Philadelphia then cones.
That is a massive issue, people are actually getting shot over it and having their cars vandalized. I've witnessed it myself!
@@Rain_dear
You're definitely telling the truth because I mysteriously had my car keyed after moving a cone.
So when they come home and see the cones have been moved and somebody is parked, they gonna vandalized the car until they watch the news and found out it was the Cops😂
Exactly! Someone on my block kept calling the cops on those neighbors who put cones out then I witnessed 2 of them vandalizing the cars that took the spot! By now everyone should own a surveillance camera and be able to see who removed them, not that they should be reacting dramatically since it's public space.
@@Rain_dear yep that’s why I would never move a cone and park there when I lived in West Philly everybody used to put chairs or whatever they had in the parking spot when they shoveled out their car and I saw a police van one morning came and took everybody’s chair
And that winter people were getting shot for taking parking spots and arguing over it
@@re9473 I used to move them but people are becoming extremely aggressive over it and I don't have the energy after a long day of work! Regardless something needed to start getting done about it and I hope they continue enforcing it.
@@Rain_dear yep how do you do the same thing move them just to be smart holding parking spots for no reason if you want a parking spot get a house with a driveway
@@re9473 that's the move
Seriously? This is how we solve the problems in Philadelphia?
Thank You. Thank You.
They will kill you if you move those cones. ❤
Wonderful, I hope the police come to West Germantown!
Lots of cones around here!!!
Lots of nrgs there too
@@notallowedtobehonest2539that was extremely unnecessary!
I was booked with a bul said he use to steal them cones and sell em on eBay by the 100s to companies in other states and make $25 a piece he got locked up cause he start takin em off highway and from city
That's 🧂.
I hope the police start doing this every where in Philadelphia
You can't think of nothing else to complain about
Danielle outlaw gots to go...What about removing the killers of the street like this is what tax dollars pay for..
Shidddddddd crime about go up another 25% and little C is gonna wonder did Sonny really shoot that guy over a Parking spot
THANK YOU, remember having to argue this crazy old man for 5 minutes because I moved his stupid cones, it's called public parking people
52nd st the whole west
Sad part they need to broad cast this to weekly because somebody come and park in a spot where a cone was not knowing guess who getting there car vandalize that person because they going to think you move it the city should of put this message out first
You have to be a psychopath to vandalize someone else's car for parking in a public spot that belongs to nobody. Unfortunately there are plenty of psychos in the city.
@@worf7271 It happens. I literally got into a fight because of that exact situation.
My neighbors get extremely defensive over "their" spots! I've witnessed a few of them vandalizing other people's cars myself!
These treeless rowhouse neighborhoods in Philly are way past their prime. They were okay 120 years ago when my ancestors landed in this country, but not now. The city should start initiating improvements. I'm sure there's enough property the city could buy and make public pay/permit parking in each neighborhood.
I've been saying this for years. Instead they've been buying old houses and empty lots to build more and therefor causing an even bigger issue.
@@Rain_dearPhilly is already tight and narrow and they keep trying to add more people.
@@MsBadBody it's becoming NYC and it's horrible. I can't wait until my house finally sells so I can get the heck out of here!
Yes because people will go to work for 8-12 hrs and leave a cone in the dam street...that don't belong to you, take them cones!!
That shit is so fkn frustrating
What about the "speed cushions" painted black with no posted signage? Great job.
Remove the gangs, not the comes.
THE POLICE ARE GOING ABOUT IT ALL WRONG. They need four cars and eight officers. Have the cars be cars they have seized, so they look like normal cars. Then fit them with cameras and tint the hell out of the car, including the windshield. Then have two plain clothes officers go to a parking place with the cones, one officer gets out the move them then parks. The other officer stays in the car hidden. The driving officer gets out and walks away like they have some place to be. When someone shows up to vandalized the car, the officer gets out and there ya go.
Ppl also used flipped trash cans out there
Really, this is what police are doing? How about the streets department handle it.
They stopped arresting bwack mrdrrs and this is the only crme outside of bwack crme. If you take away bwack ppl, philly is one of the best cities in the world! If you leave the bwacks there, one of the worst!
No is going to listen to the streets department 😂😂
Doesn't matter who is doing it as long as it's being done. It's been a long time coming this shit is ridiculous!
Emerald st and Clarence st area is the worst 1000's of cones, cone city for real, people crazy saving parking spots
Feltonville and Juniata!!!! Pls come
Even in North fairhill sections. We need that asap
Ya need to keep calling the cops that's what someone on my block kept doing. Some still place objects but either not all day and not everyone is doing it.
They need to ride down 25th. St. between Lehigh Ave. & Allegheny Ave. to pick up another 100 cones !
Lol people in Philadelphia are crazy. What a sad and deadly city😢
Have some unmarked car park in those coned spots and see who comes out to complain and ticket them. What is the law that prohibits using cones? What's the fine?
All right now. Instead some idiot's going to say that's their parking spot and shoot someone
Some bwack subhuman, you mean.
Okay but what if the police take some cones and you park there shortly after. The person who owned the cones will think that you both stole their parking spot AND their cones. Seems dangerous.
15TH DISTRIC THANK YOU AND 24 & 25 DISTRIC ALSO NEED TO DO THE SAME . CONE AND CHAIR .
Awesome..... but..... there's still the crime thing to be dealt with.
Its about time ...
Great job PPD .. I always despised people who would do stupid shit like that. You want personal parking get a damn house with a garage and driveway!
Is needed at the 25th district ,for cones and car's that have no inspection and are just sitting for months 😢😮
There's 3 on my block that been sitting for years. It's ridiculous!
22nd and point breeze near cross. The PGW cone has been reserving a spot for weeks. It’s not a PGW work area. A Kia is always parked in the spot when the cone isn’t around.
What block u on?
Maybe they work for PGW
😃
Well Dirtydelphia it’s known for two things trash everywhere and no traffics laws
The other people looking for parking are the dumb ones,I don’t let that pass me,..
Especially when it’s in front of my house, I take the cones out and just park there, to this day I haven’t had one person come up to me and say anything about me taking “their” cone out
Problem is THIS IS PHILADELPHIA!!. You park where the police removed the cones and you're actually risking your life. In terms of your car?
They'll kill that too.
You don’t own no spot people 😂😂😂 grown adults acting like children
What about the garbage cans and the crates😂😂😂
They should be fined! Most of the time they're placed directly infront of the residence.
@@Rain_dear FACTS !
Ok... Fine your removing the cones but they just go out and get more.... I give up... How about removing the crime off the streets.... You can call the police and they take they sweet time for someone being car jacked, shot, burglarized, ect... Lets face it as soon as they remove the cones they come back with more.. They lock up criminals and here comes more..Crime is here to stay and so is the cones...Keep the spot my life is more valuable..
You realize this is Philly, right? If you keep taking the cones they are going to put larger objects there. Take that, even bigger.
how about lawnchairs
Why is this news
So the parking spot holders know who moved their cones!
@@Rain_dear FACTS !
It's about damn time these cops is doing something good for the people
In the city I live in, we just respected spots for our elderly neighbors.
And i bet the police wont do a thing if your car is vandalized because they removed the cones from these "saved" spots 😂
Ain’t got that problem in these Delaware burbs lol
Really
Please, they can’t even prevent people from J-walking into their death right in front of them and what about the chairs and buckets?😂😂😂😂
Shit atleast they're taking initiative against a massive issue... one at a time! There's too many idiots for such a few cops!
With all the car jacking and murdering people need to be able to park in front of their homes. They need to solve the other issues before worrying about this.
Buy a home with its own driveway, but parking on city streets is fair game.
Wow so parks getting shot up n y’all worried about cones 😒
102 cones is impressive, but imagine if that was 102 addicts removed from NE Philly to get help instead 🙃
You cant help addics. 1/1000 get rehabilitated and those who do are never 100% normal. The jnkis you see on the side of the road are ruined forever.
Both big issues. I'm tired of getting harassed every single morning for change by addicts then to come home after a 12 hr shift to find a street full of cones!
@@Rain_dearLol
Shoobies be tryin to Shoob.
how about we talk about the tens of thousands of dollars in stolen cones LUL
Yea I wonder who’s likely to shoot you for moving cones from a spot someone thinks they’re entitled to?
I dont.
Everyone loves there car park spot..... 😂
Their*
Im in love!
They can't arrest people who commit crime because of Krasner so the only thing they're allowed to do is harass working people😂😂😂
Yup. Punish the whi ppl for how terrible and disgusting the bwack subhumans are. Typical pennsylvania.
More like because cops are lazy and don't want to work. I see them all the time just hanging out in stores or sitting in their car while drug deals are going on. This city had problems way before Krasner.
It's a Democrat ran city what do you expect? Idk about you but I'm glad something is being done about those damn cones. I work 12hr shifts to come home and find a street full of cones.
O
Bla bla
😂
GOOD !!! I can kinda understand after a blizzard, but setting up cones with NO snow in sight for FIVE to SIX months is some IGNANT @$$ $#!T 🤪🤡🤪🤡🤨
Now the police need to get the cones from every single plumber in the city of Philadelphia who steel barricades and Cones to put on their work site they were not purchase for private plumbers to use on there costly repairs to homeowners
