Who likes my filming ?
Absolutely love it
Polly is the real star here.
🙋♀️ thank youuuuuu 😘😘😘😘
Marvelous 👍🔥
@@MoonInMyEye the filming would not be nice and it will be rusty without the filmer😑
when I was a kid, I could skate and stop so easily, I tried roller blading a few weeks ago first time since I was 17 (so like 15 years later) and WOW I sucked lol .. but this video is reminding me some tricks. I am going to try it again soon. thanks
🫶
Same!!!! I feel so stiff!
Damn 2 years old?!
I’m in a pretty similar boat. I was great at the basics until around 15, and haven’t rollerbladed again until now, 17 years later. I am trash and disappointed it wasn’t like riding a bike.
Hi poly I like ur tips n tricks lots of love from India
So impressed that you talked through this entire tutorial while doing everything
☺️🫶🤙🙏
You're such a good teacher!! To me, your videos are the only ones that explain how to do skating essentials without confusing me!! Thank you !
Wow, thank you! I think so much about how not to be confusing 😂🫶🤙☺️☺️☺️
you are tho@@PollySkates
Did you ever hurt your ankle while skating?
this was genuinely an extremely helpful video. when I searched for beginners roller blading videos, this was exactly what I was hoping to find :)
Thank you so much, Polly. I just started skating, and this was very helpful ❤
❤️
I like to do the lemon drops because there actually quite fun to do on cruising !
So fun! ☺️
Looks so easy and effortless when you do it, Polly. Tried just the T-stop today. No chance at all to keep the back foot in any sort of coherent position relative to the front foot. But then it was my first time trying so I guess I'll just keep trying. Thanks for showing all the various ways!
Thank you! I am getting back into inline skating after a 20 year break. I wasn’t really good with breaking back then and glad to improve where my younger self left off.
By far this is the best tutorial on RUclips I’ve seen for roller blades stops. Thank you so much. This will help me for roller hockey.
🥹 thank you! So happy it’s helpful for you!
Hey! Such good timing 😊
I started rollerblading since I saw your short videos. Very inspiring and you make them seem too easy.
I can currently move forward and do glides, yet I dont know how to stop. Been trying to do plow stop, but it feels like something is ripping down there 😂
Hope to give more update soon! Thank youuuuuuu 🥰
Oh I appreciate the updates!!! Practice is truly the best teacher!! 🫶🤙 keep it up!!
Very good content thank you.
I do like how you link different techniques as parts of a whole slowing down/ stopping skill.
I've never skated in my life but I'm thinking of trying it out, maybe in a few weeks if my back pain has subsided enough. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks polly ,love your videos by the way
🫶☺️🤙
ty : ) relearning inline skating has kicked my ass but this helped a lot
Thank you so much! A lot of us need this tutorial! 🎉
You're so welcome! 🥰🫶🤙🙏🎉
yep
Thank you for this! I loved skating as a kid, and am trying to pick it back up after ~20 years. I went out for the first time yesterday but I was too scared to go fast because I couldn't figure out how to stop safely!! The heel brake wasn't working very well for me, so I would just squat and put my hands on the ground to stop 🤣 I'm excited to get back out there and practice these safer (and less lame) stops instead!!!
Nagyon hasznos gyűjtemény, kivaloan szemléltetve!
Thank you!🙏
Thank you for putting all this together.
💖
Great tutorial. Your description at around 1:50 is to the point. It happens to me all the time during my practice. But i didn't realise that it can be because of the pressure. Thanks for that.
I took a 4 hour course here in Switzerland. Inline Skating is one experience which really humbled me. After a few hours of practice i still am unable to manage to stop without falling. After that & watching few tutorials in RUclips my opinion is that most of the tutorials or even teachers are not focussing on the baby steps of Inline Skating. Like if you are learning a language or any other sport you spend few hours doing nothing serious but just learning super simple stuff. Whereas with skating i feel somehow these baby steps are missing and right away we are trying to just skate. Eventually we may get it. But it seems to me a bit crude way of learning. I can be wrong though. Or maybe there are people who are doing it in a very detailed manner and i dont know them. This is in no way criticism on you or anyone. Just I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from generous people like you. Thanks again !!
My rollerblades just came in. lol, I used to roller blade back when I was a kid, actually preferred them over roller skates for when my friends would have parties at the skating rink. Some of the kids in my family are starting to get into having birthday parties at skating rinks and what sort of fun uncle would I be if I didn't skate with them occasionally?
Your videos are great not just for beginners but as a refresher too.
Hi Polly, I skate on quads but love your videos. You're an awesome instructor and explain techniques in detail. Blessings.
Thank you! 🫶🙏🤙
Thanks for the great videos and effort! The slides in the end got me hyped and I'd like to learn how to. Are we gonna see more about slides in the channel?
Yes!!!!!! 🫶🤙🙏☺️
This was super helpful with your notes on where you are applying pressure
Glad it was helpful!☺️🙌🎉🙏
Bought roller blades and went out on them yesterday. They're aggressive skates with no stopper, and I'm a beginner! My gosh. Aggressive is definitely the word. Thanks for the video, going to practice the plow stop all day tomorrow, as stopping is what I'm finding the most difficult. Plus my feet and lower leg aches. Video has been a great help. Thanks
That is awesome! I love aggressive skating! Which ones did you get?! I find t stops to be the easiest on aggressive skates :)
OMG thanks so much Polly it really helped me as a beginner love you!!!
You're so welcome!🥹🤙💪🩵🙏
Good morning, my beautiful, diligent teacher. Your lesson today is excellent, at the best level, thanks to you😍😍😍😍
Practical advice; very well-explained.
🥰🙏🤙🫶
I'm 53 and starting. It's not going as planned. I was a great roller skater..this is a little hairy/scary to fall so far. Grass, here I come
You are a classic skatter. We need more tutorial from you. Would you plz upload more tutorials about power stop, power slide, side surfing?Need your attention about this.Love from Bangladesh.
Thank You Polly your tricks are very helpful for me first I will only know how to do heal break. Now from your videos I have learnt different types of breaks and don’t forget even the tricks now I am really good at getting in my class I am in 4th and I am a fan from India
Thank you so much ❤
Thank you for this, been going to the skate park to practice and I'll try some of these when I'm there next.

You are a genius! thanks for the vid! ♥

Excellent driving 👌
GREAT video, thank you, Polly, i'll use all the ideas
Aw yay!! 😃
This 6 minutes video gave me material for training like for the next two years LOL. Thank you Polly!
You're so welcome! This makes me so happy!!! 🤗🎉⭐️🙏
This is so beyond helpful
Thank you!!!❤❤❤

Thank you so much, Polly.

Thanks, it's very informative! I love that you explain WHY some things work or not.
I still have big problem with stopping (or at least slowing down) when going downhill with very narrow space available. Do you have some tips for that kind of a situation? 🙏
Yes!! My next video is going to be on downhill!! Basically my best advice is a T stop or sidestep :) stay tuned for my vid I have a lot to say! 🫶🤙🙏☺️☺️
Thank you this was helpful❤
I'm so glad!🥹🙏🩵
Great content. Thank you!
Thank you!!
🎉❤love it!
Thank you!!! Love you!! 🎉
Omg thank you do much
Most of the time I've skated was on wood or "checker tile", and half of these I didn't realize existed. Even then, I do sometimes have a slightly crooked form during certain sessions.
I gottta try stepping plow
thx a lot, Im a grown up beginner and need help a lot these days 😉
Happy to help!☺️🤙🫶
I am fan of the way you talk and teach skating
Tysm ☺️☺️🫶🙏🤙🥹❤️
I did the face slide once. It was epic!
🙈
😳😳
i tried all your tips but it's hard and different when im in the actual it my day one practicing 🥰
Thanks 🎉
You're welcome 😊🥹🤙🙏
Great video. I'm a beginner.
Thanks!
😁🫶🤙🙏☺️☺️
This is so helpfull.
🙏🫶🥹 so glad!
What are good stretches you do after rollerblading? I stretch a lot but rollerblading the other day has shown me muscles I didn't even know my calves had lol it's like the sides of my calves are tender . . . nonetheless, awesome videooo. Gonna rewatch!
This is so helpful! Could you make a new video about what kind of skates to get? I’m looking for some new ones, but I don’t know which ones to get. I’m a beginner rollerblader too so this is really helpful. Thanks again!
Wish I had a nice path like that around!
So nice! I just wish it was longer than a mile
Thank you for your videos and your positivity !
I can only practice in an indoor arena, I am intermediate and I would love to start slaloming, any advice for small exercices to start with ?
Oh slalom is so fun!! Get yourself some little cones and start by practicing turning through and lemon drops through!! I have a short vid on a few first beginner moves to learn with cones!! Check it out! Hope it helps! I can make a longer one too 🫶🤙☺️
@@PollySkates Thank you so much for your reply ! I will have a look at this video!
I am a beginner and this really helped although i have to do it inside sometimes
🙌🙏🎉🩵
Thank you Polly! This is very helpful. What sakes are you wearing in this video? They look comfortable.
Hi! Thank you! Yes they are so comfy!! They are the Rollerblade twister xt :)
Such great info - this video is super helpful as a beginner! I'm learning to use my heel brake, but I end up turning with it unintentionally. 😅
Ah that makes sense just keep practicing!! Thank you! 🫶🤙🙏☺️☺️
Thanks
Welcome☺️
Hi! I don't know if you'd replied to comments on a video from this long ago, but I'm having trouble stopping with the plow stop. I can't get myself to actually fully stopp, I keep rolling forward a little and sometimes trip over my angled blades. How do I get that proper A shape just right to actually stop the rolling fully? Thank you!
Magic slide!
Yes!!!!!
is there a specific reason you remove the heel brake? i have one on my rollerblades but i notice you don't and i wonder why :)
Thanks Polly
You’re welcome 😊🫶🤙
0:52 檸檬跳跳, 1:40 T減速+錯誤, 3:29 轉彎減速, this is jz for my own use.🎉
I’ve been blading for years, mostly as a way to get places too and just realized I use the heel break wrong. I drag it behind me, but I’m also left handed, could this be a factor?
I honestly don’t know if I’d be able to even un learn it if I but a break on the left side
Hm what do you mean drag it behind you?
thank you! also those skates look fantastic, what are those?
Rollerblade twister with endless arc frames!
@@PollySkates thank you for answering
i dont know what to do,ive been skating for years and i never knew how to stop, and i still dont know how to..this is no help to me:(
😂like me. I just avoid dangerous roads
You can’t really get good at any of this unless you’re prepared to fall. Sometime, you have to.
hey man I'm about to start skating again after a decade of not doing so and I'm nervous too but you just gotta push through it. get some safety pads and learn how to fall safely, you'll be good i promise, best of luck with skating!
Ich probiere es gleich heute aus. Wünscht mir Hals und Beinbruch. 🎉
I have failed.....but nothing broken. 🙈
I remember trying a T stop, but I put my foot in front of me instead so I ented up rolling forwards into a ditch. Thank god for my backpack cushioning my roll. I still remember laying there for a moment just catching my breath and this old lady stopped her car and offered me a ride home even when I said I wasn't injured.
Oh wow! Did you ever get it?! 🥺
@@PollySkates I stopped after a while due to joint pain, but I am picking it up again when my new skates are coming in a few days c:
Do you recommend wearing a helmet as a learner/beginner? Because I wear wrist protection, and knee pads but I’m not really a beginner, but for beginners do you think they should wear helmets and lots of protection?
YES to helmets!! For all skill levels!! 💯
@@PollySkates thanks 😊
I remember slipping on sand at high speed years ago and scraping all the skin off one of my calves 😖😵. Stay away from sandy sidewalks lol
Oh my gosh yes sand can be soooo bad when you aren’t expecting it 💯❣️
I looked this up after I sailed into a holly bush 😊
Do you have any videos on falling safely? Last time i roller bladed i broke my wrist trying to catch myself. I really want to get into it again to run my dog but I am nervous about breaking my wrist again
Hi!! I just recently posted a full length video on falling! Lmk if it helps 🥹🙌🙏🫶
When i try plow stop i nearly do the splits fr
i need the slide video pls
Im a bit scared to do a lemon drop or any type of spreading my legs out. I feel like i'd fall 😭
So everyone got new skates?
Not me, I’m using the 1990 Rollerblades I found in my garage. But I did get new wheels because the old ones were VERY interesting
I luv you
🫶
4:04 that’s me
When I do the plow stop my feet get unconfortable close that I feel I will lose balance 😟
I love rollerblading but I have only tried once so I Keep begging my mom to buy them for me 😊
😊
grass stop ftw
🎉🎉💚
This area look, like I thought as a child it look everywhere in the US. 😂
Haha that’s awesome
Wish I saw this last year before I broke my arm 😞
Oh no! I hope your arm is feeling better! ❤️🩹
I think it is better you tech 1 stop at a time. Different video for each type of stop so they beginner don't get overwhelmed.
That was my thought too after I made this! 😅🫶🙏🤙
Is that a road or a pedestrian walkway?
Pedestrian walkway/bike path
Really nice
i use the grass stop, but when i landvthere i fall forward😢
Then maybe try to lean back a little 😄🙏
@@PollySkates dont worry! im in usw of the lemon drops:)
How are people skating in this insane heat? I’m doing everything I can to make myself forget it’s even summer. Mainly working extra days to make sure it goes away quickly.
I wake up early!!! Sunrise skater!!
@@PollySkates smart! I might go to our local park to practice from 5-7 am on the weekends. Lots of group joggers there that time of day.
@@notenrique666I am in marching band so I'm used to heat 😂
@@JuliasCatCheesecakelol!
What are good beginner rollerblades?
For recreational skating, I recommend the Rollerblade Zetrablade, Macroblade 80 or Macroblade 80 ABT, which is short for Active Braking Technology. With the push of a button mounted on the skate with the brake, you then just slide your foot forward to slow down. This is a good way to gain confidence as you’re able to keep all eight wheels on the ground while you brake. And as the pad wears down, you can adjust this so that the brake pad can stay in an optimum position for when you need it the most.
Rollerblade cruiser, Rollerblade Pro x or the twister :)
If you go to shoptask inline skateshop online any of their 80mm ones are good!! The ones I mentioned are my faves for beginners 🫶🤙☺️
Where r u from 👌
Vermont!
I didn’t know that vermont have a country in world
Me😂
What if there is dogshit in the grass?
