I love the unblinking eye-contact you maintained to establish dominance while you played.
He's mastered the eye-contact.
I peed a little feeling my soul crumble away ahah 😂. Also just gonna say I always wanted to learn the human abstract but my mind can't keep the timing/speed up. They always reminded me of a modern dream theater for the time they were together
Nah bro, he just forgot how to blink
Right! Just staring like he does this ish on a regular 😂😂
You can do that with AI eye tracking on any NVIDIA GPU, basically people are using it in order to read a script while recording a youtube video
Bro staring into my soul while doing the most flawless playing ever
Also what is your sim rig setup, wheels, pedals, etc (sim Racer here)
Rudy, as small as my comment seems, i would like you to know that I am a great fan, your videos, sketches, everything you do, your unique creativity and randomness from time to time is honestly - can't find the right word, yes lack of vocabulary - amazing. I hope that you will keep it going, never give up, find motivation in what you do, there are a lot of people who love what you bring us. I love re-watching your arab dad sketches, horse, desert, cowboy songs (sad they don't get more views), and i also hope you are where you want (your youtube, your life in LA, your friends), i hope you will have the time and the resources to visit your home country Lebanon as often as you wish. Just much love brother.

Awww such a sweet comment.
@pdgkokomaaab
Ditto, well said❣️
So sweeet. Yes. Same. And also feel better after breakup.
I was waiting for the plot twist
I rarely read anything genuine in the comment section! ❤
Holy moly, a guitar video from Rudy. You must have alienated three quarters of your fanbase from this.
I hope you guys realize Rudy made it even MORE difficult by not even looking at the fretboard. The dude's actually a pretty skilled musician. So much so that I felt a compulsive need to unsubscribe again.
Lmao.
i did not realize that (i’m not a musician), but i do think he’s unreasonably good at many things, which is very annoying, because i want to be good at many things and i’m not.
@@camilla_films_stuff like he said, you need to get addicted to doing something that's difficult. This is why I'm a Musician and Golfer 😅 The difficulty draws me in. Then, you break the "hard" into compartments - because you want to learn it so much. This applies to anything you think is worth doing and learning.
same
😂
Holy fuck, I don't remember when I subscribed but I remember watching you when you had like 6k subscribers just noticed you have 1.42M now, that's awesome.
Wtf I didn't realise me neither !
I love imagining that youtuber cats are like "bro who the f you talkin' to."
wake up guys ayoub dropped :D
I literally was sleeping immediately before watching this.
Ayoub's hard
been watching for years and i never noticed the racing rig in the corner ._.
Racing rig?
@@Dellvmnyam the sim-race setup in his corner
@@teosandell4278 I still don’t see it haha

Everyone: "Wow. Guitar. Rudy. Music"
Me: "THAT CAT IS SO DARNED CUTE".
This is a ridiculously funny, very skillful and charming young man … i see why you have 1.4M subscribers, well deserved
I might be only 6 minutes in the video but i would like to mention that the entirety of this video's tips not only transfer over to any musical instrument but to any IRL skill that one wishes to advance , splitting it into smaller tasks or taking things slower since at the very beginning most of us face difficulties to " master " something , again great video Rudy , much love
Your humor,,speaking voice,and guitar playing is flawless❤❤❤❤
Divide et impera, the golden rule of universal problem solving.
In addition to everything you do well, the way you talk to Larry almost at the end of the video shows that you love him..a lot❤
did you have to stare into my soul when playing that?
i appreciate that you dont strive for perfection. with any artform its so easy to get bogged down by the stress of needing something to be perfect, and at least in my experience it gets you nowhere. Cool sound, thanks for the lesson!
0:24 bro really said "people are attracted to things that are hard" and "people wanna release the tension they've been holding in"
😂
Your fingering levels are off the chart, Rudy
ayo
I love how this goodlooking man is staring at me while he plays something hard, black and long.
5:37 I accepted the challenge and now almost two days later I'm able to write this comment. Cheers!
It's nice to find a serious video from you! I've been out of the youtube guitar thing for a while and I remember when everyone used to do only humour videos. Your videos are a great mix of both!
Absolutely shredding while making eye contact is the new thing that i'm into😮❤
There were some actual bits of true wisdom here.
Great video Rudy!
Thank you so much for the in depth look into your process. It sounds sort of like how I "memorize" poetry. Unrelatedly, but, possibly relevant, I, too, am team: "Better Finished/Accomplished than 'Perfect' ".
Also, Larry's face, a few minutes in; he, too, looked deep into the camera. Adorable. Also, I add to those loving how you talk to him😀👍
Thank you for opening my library to this amazing piece of art. This part is astonshing I can't stop listening to it.
9:27 The "yeah I know" to Larry 🐱 - LOL I say the exact same thing but with more repetition, like "yeah I knoow I knooow..." (and then imagining the cat is complaining about life), I say "omg I know sooo frustrating" 😄
I really never considered the perfectionism vs realism points you made here, i always strive for the perfect take like a true bedroom guitarist when i should be more focused on consistent near-perfect takes
Gotta be the most entertaining guitar creator right now. I love the very realistic approach to your learning techniques. Thank you for breaking this process down. Much love
I am thoroughly impressed and extremely envious.
1:26 Respect to you, Young Man
I stopped playing guitar on account of difficulty reaching the frets and strumming when there's a foetus between me and the guitars.
Youngest then-foetus now has my instruments.
I'm a keyboardist but I can apply your teachings to my chosen instrument
Hell yeah! Thank you so much for the guitar video this time!🖤 I really like how you explain things, and your practice tips - not too mathematical, relatable, I guess it's deliberate👍🖤 I'm guilty of repetitive guitar neglect periods, picked it up again several months ago (just for the soul). As you said somewhere before: "it's either you or the guitar". I think it's us both. So the most relatable things said here so far were "giving up" and "starting over"😔 Btw, such a proggy piece for your taste, I didn't expect it😄 Playing with closed eyes - NEAT😎 I saw some Herman Li's interview where he sad he turns off the lights in his bedroom, and practices standing in the dark. But to me personally, no amount of shredding will ever beat slow, emotive, melodic solos that unapologetically pierce your soul.
Strive for perfection but accept that you'll never reach it... We tend to mentally put limits on ourselves... If I set my goal to 140 bpm I'll probably not get to that because I'll become mentally exhausted but if I go with the goal of 160bpm I'll hit 140... You're a level above me. After 25 years I'm learning sweep picking
"people are attracted to things that are difficult" sounds like something Arab dad would say to his children about his wife.
1st wife 🌚
Real shit dude. Practice pays off. Nice work 👍
Honestly youtube guitarists is a corner i try to avoid like the plague. I think it boils everything down to its finer points and removes the magic for "lol points" Rudi, is the exception. Man ascends that tag and is just geneeally charismatic and endearing to watch. Love ya habibi
Step 3 - slowing it down
Accuracy first, and speed will follow
the way he shut his eyes after he finished playing
Loved this! thanks.
Just answered my question. Can spot em anywhere. You did amazing!
It's very impressive how you not only can play a complicated piece like this one, but also play it without looking. I've tried playing solos without looking and that alone increases the difficulty exponentially.
Thanks Rubert 👍
Fuck, that sentence at 3:53 was probably the hardest thing you learned since that song
Dang, 1.5 mil subs?? Nice job dude 🎉🎉
That's a lot easier than playing 0-3-5
Keep up, Rudy!
what is really hard to learn is to understand and admit how f*CKIN CUTE IS YOUR CAT ! 🥰
Nice of Rudy to feature in his cat's video
A-1 information for life right here. Thanks, man.
Dat was soothing I love you papa thx
Rudy, you made that guitar piece look so easy. And as a side note....that burp, so out of character for you, however I did laugh because I am a small child hahahahaha. Loved the video, love from Australia.
I think not blinking for that long is harder than what you played.
Omg, sweet Larry ❤
1 second before playing: playful, smiley looking
1 second starting to play: DEDLY STARE
❤❤❤ OMGOODNESS, YOUR INTRO IS WONDERFUL 👍👍🎉🎉
He's in a trance-like state, he doesn't even blink! And look at his big hands...
Played the Jordan Rudess piano part on the guitar holly shit!!! why did I just now learn you're a fucking master on the guitar!
I LOL'd at 8:06
❤️❤️❤️ the Day can only be Good when you see a new Video from Rudy
Im making a separate comment from my other just to highlight the fact that out of any other musician on youtube Rudy has quite literally just from small tips made me a better musician. I cant thank you enough for that these tips go a whole step above normal techniques ive seen online. An im now going to try to do this with marigold and im learning it to completion just to prove a point my add wont win this battle. 💯🤘 Thanks again!
cheers from Portugal
I’m so happy I’ve discovered your channel. Happy to discover that you’re obviously a cat dad. It makes you seem more human. 😺😺😺🎸🎸🎸
great i lost a staring contest with a video
for some reason i feel like a car honk would fit as a chord in what you just played
I vote for more videos like these please 🙂
I find my answer would be pretty underwhelming even though it's technically tough and took me ages to get down, but I would say Recuerdos de la Alhambra or another tremolo piece on that level. Beautiful sound but holy it's deceivingly difficult to get seamless
Beast El Ayouuub 🔥
my eyes dried up. nice movement rudy
"I cant really play it... that well""
* plays it that well
man so you're telling me this whole time we could have prepared for the "Just play anything bro" scenario?
Musicians are born with it. You have it or not. I believe it’s the same for people who have a taste for words. It’s funny because my uncle’s name is Manual. And in French it means someone who likes to work with their hands 🙌. And I’m DEFINITLY WITH that particular skills so words is not not the first thing I see in people. I look at their hands.
Best Habibi Guy in History!!!
for me it is a recent thing i started learning and i still can't pull it on full speed, yet. caprice no. 24 has being hunting me for years and for the first time in my life as a guitarist i sit down and started learning it and for the first time in my life i could see myself grasping what he was doing so i started. i play it at barely half speed right now and not the whole song. at some point that bastard pulls an insane arpegio in 32th at 100-110 bpm.
but this time i could play it slow with the metronome. i did what you describe. i hope that i will be able to play it in a speed that is comparable in a couple of months.
Absolue madlad🔥🔥
8:04 I have self respect BUUURPPPPP
That was awesome. I consider myself a pretty okay guitarist and I would struggle with that piece, at least for a bit.
I missed him wallah ya hmar where are you 😂❤️
This exactly blank right away haha 😂 I'm trying to learn marigold for that very question. This is reasonable for me to get right sooner or later probably is I'm good at just riffing playing my own stuff creating. So I never sit down to learn other songs or things anymore.
Wait what do you mean you can play guitar????? I had no idea that’s cool man props to you
Magic Machine (what this song is from) is a super underrated album, highly recommend
when I clicked on this An Endless Sporadic was the last fuckin thing I thought I'd hear, good shit man
05:37 I followed the instructions. Now I'm in an alcoholic comma and can't even distinguish the shapes anymore.
The hardest thing I've ever learned to play in the electric guitar was Glasgow Kiss by John Petrucci and, oh boy, this was fun, but hard, really hard.
“So I gave up.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brooo American Wasteland featured Sun of Pearl. What a throwback Rudy.
❤❤❤
ily rudy
Rudies cube on the table. Not assembled. Also, not looking on guitar while playing is like dark magick!
My guy 👌
All of it sudden Rudy deserves a Music Pedagogy PhD
can...can you not stare at me while playing this ridiculously good, it makes me uncomfortable..
Gene Sharp’s 198 METHODS OF NONVIOLENT ACTION but also his The Politics of Nonviolent Action. 🇵🇸✊🏾
Wow Rudy you really can play
Thought it would be Alluvial but the Horse is ok. Thank you Rudy
Dude simply pulled off the Lord V thing
The cat makes you look like a villain
I LOOOOOVEEEEE YOUR CAAAAAAT !!!!
This is pretty much my process!
