I've been sewing for decades but never had to make adjustments until a few years ago. My shoulders are narrow and one slopes more than the other. I could never work out how to do an adjustment but you have explained it very clearly and it's much simpler than I thought. Thanks

Thank you Minerva. I was so very frustrated with the shoulder adjustments that I was not getting proper guidance. Your video helps a ton with my issue, it addressed exactly what I was struggling with ❤

Basting the shoulder and side seams can be a big help when working to get the correct fit.

Do you have to make the corresponding changes to the sleeve cap?

If you make an adjustment of more than about 1cm on the sleeve head you will need to use your sleeve head easing stitches with more vigour.

Great video! I have a slightly different problem. I habitually stand with my shoulders thrown back, which gives me a shorter erect back and a longer front for clothes to hang right. If I wear clothes with the shoulder seams at my shoulder apex, the front rides up and the back hem is too long. This means the shoulder seams are too far forward, and the back neck is too high. I would love if someone could tell me what this adjustment would be called so I can search for a solution!

Just love the way everything comes out backwards. You can’t even even see what you’re reading.
