I have a daughter that could go through anything we went through as a self employed family that moved across the country and all the things that came along with that. She was such a trooper, then after it was over I’d be so grateful that we made it through whatever hurdle it was, everyone was ok, then she’d have a melt down. But everyone handles it all differently. As long as we can pick ourselves back up and keep going is the good thing. It may take a minute. But you surely have a full life! You’ve got a lot going on. Good or bad you do a great job to keep it all going. I hope the repairs go well on your ceiling. We had a mold problem in our home once. We were renting and just had to move because the owners could not figure out where the moisture was coming from. So it couldn’t get resolved. I enjoy getting a glimpse of your daily life. If I could, I would love to live out like that. We did, sort of, when I was a kid. We had a family produce business and there was always a lot of work to do. Thank you for sharing so much with us. I’m going to be working on canning my garbanzos and making the hummus from your videos you and your sister put together a while back. I like dried garbanzos that I have cooked better than ones I buy in a can. I wonder what I’ll think of my home canned ones. For the most part it won’t matter, because mostly it will go for smoothed out hummus anyway. Garlic covers a multitude, lol. But my daughter enjoys a few salads that call for the garbanzo beans, so I’m getting ready to find out what I think. So far, when I eat ones that are commercially canned, the texture just isn’t the same and I don’t like it as well as home cooked. Thanks again for all you do.
Hey Anna dear. I’m sorry about the mold. I took can smell mold/mildew a mile away. Chronic mold exposure could exacerbate your health issues. Maybe look into that. That shell was a cicada. They’re coming out this year and even if they weren’t several emerge every year. My whole family deals with ADHD I deal with it by piling on more and more things to do, my husband mindlessly scrolls social media, my daughter withdrawals and my son gets super hyper spastic nearly. Your seedlings look so good comparatively. Great job. Anyway much love and blessings dear.
OH ANNA. I know what you mean about being able to smell mold. I'm the same way. SO incredibly sorry, I pray you are able to keep on top of it. There are paints/primers with like a mold inhibitor on them you maybe could paint on up there.
i feel your pain, I still have a large hole in my living room ceiling when a water pipe burst in my bedroom over the living room. The ceiling is that old fashioned textured over the dry wall. And my adult son is severe ADHD from when he was a baby so projects are either not happening or full steam ahead. Go with the flow.
I am so sorry you had to go through all of that. On a positive note, at least you have 2 men to help you and you were able to do it yourselves. I am here alone so I had to hire it out and I cannot even tell you how much it cost to take out my front wall and have it all repaired even AFTER the insurance claim. I still feel for you! Prayers for you, Anna!!!!
Sweet Anna! We do understand the stress of mold and the catastrophe a water leak event can cause. Whenever you post we will watch. Bless you, as you deal with these issues and the chaos in your mind. I get analysis paralysis overwhelmed when dealing with all the stuff from cleaning out my parent's house after my dad passed. Still sorting through what I stored in my huge shed now. Prayers for you.
We are an ADHD family, plus a bit of autism with my youngest. I understand the extra challenges and the relief of having something like the pigs off your plate. My ADHD husband is doing our kitchen remodel so…someday I’ll have counters? 🤷🏻♀️😂. Sending encouragement, I just subscribed and really enjoy your content :-)
@@FermentedHomestead yes they are , when we were kids we would pick them off the trees and line them up on gmas porch lol, watch real close for copperhead s , they go after the cicadas like crazy , especially around that pile of wood and tressel lattice stuff yall have by the shed , might be good to have your son restock those materials
I saw the hole in the ceiling I laughed because I did the exact same thing but in our garage attic. Hope you don't bruise as bad as I did. I'm not allowed up there anymore...lol
Real life filming. I love it. It lets me know that I'm not alone in the way my brain works. Water is my enemy here. We've dealt with plumbing issues over the last couple months and yesterday storm water soaked a wall and subfloor. I get a lot of tire kickers when I sell animals and eggs. Drives me nuts.
Nobody in my family believes me when I tell them I'm allergic to mold! They think I'm nuts! If I got a rash maybe they would but my symptoms are in my sinuses. They swell and get blocked and it feels like the top of my skull is going to pop off and eyes pop out! Thankfully I've moved away from them and can control my environment more. I did get hospital strength fungicide and sprayed my basement. I also got an ozone generator which kills smells and any active fungi. So far so good!
Please know you aren't alone. I got allergy tested mid 70's (painfully and extensively ) and my family was surprised how high molds ranked in the allergen list--plus many more allergens). I endured several years of twice-weekly antigen injections, got better (yay!), grew up, married, moved half a world away and then acquired all new allergies. So fun! My adult doctors (military, go figure) didn't think any new antigen therapy was needed. 🤨 But the sinus problem always persisted (swelling, bleeding, blocking same as you and now...also polyps for fun!) now in my mid 60's the cumulative damage can't be undone and must just be 'managed'. For you...of course, keep doing everything you can now at your age to control your allergen responses. There are no 'do-overs'. Tell your family my story and hope it will help them understand you aren't making this up, it isn't all in your head. (I also have a child who has been diagnosed as Celiac so I think there is a high potential that something in our modern environment/food chain is creating these problems in our bodies to create immune-flare responses such as Celiac disease and other rheumatic conditions. Ack...such a rabbit hole to dive into! At any rate...please be well!

I think you also need to spray something on everything to kill any mold residual from happening further. I don't know what it is called but you could find out from a contractor or Home Depot. I had the same problem when a mouse ate through my dishwasher line.
