Love driving cross country. I empathize completely. Eight years ago at 53 years old, for the first time ever, drove across the entire U.S. north to south by myself AND towing a loaded 14 foot trailer. I did not realize how stressful it was until I woke up after my first night there and my shoulders hurt for two days afterwards. I never prayed continuously so much in my life sad to say. If anyone needs a soul spirit revival, drive pulling a trailer through any major U.S. city!
Yes! Please show us the process of setting up your homestead! We just moved to Tennessee…we just started building a Polebarn home/shop built…and I man living with my Daughter and her family while the house is being built….you are a few months ahead of us so watching your process would be helpful! We probably won’t get chickens till spring cause our property doesn’t have any animal structures yet….starting with RAW LAND. …I did plant a small garden cause I just couldn’t help myself!
I know I'm a bit late but welcome to Missouri ! We moved here in Missouri from Maine and our daughter moved here also from Washington. we had to laugh about the bugs , snakes and the heat and humidity and other wonderful things as it was all new to us as well when we got here. Its growing on us after 3 years and we have much to be thankful for. , love your channel so much !
I'm so sorry the people left yall such as mess and yes our weather is very humid but the growing garden season is really good and yes please share your progress with us on your journey.
Would love to watch ya'll grow! :) I think that I would be using Kilz on every wall in that house. It would be great if ya'll could get everything ripped out, painted, etc. before ya'll moved in... Good luck and Well Wishes on your new adventure! :)
Welcome to MO. When we move into a new place after carpet replacement, we always have the Ductwork cleaned as well. Would love to follow your set up of garden.
Fishtailing-- the solution is to repack the trailer, put the weight to the front and under the half height of the trailer, Lighter items behind and lightest on top. I had to repack a trailer three times but once right, it did not fishtail at all.
Yes, just yes! Plus if you do bring us along on fixing up this land you will have wonderful videos of befores/durings/afters of everything! Things you can look back on, especially the garden! To see how far it's all come in the years to come. I'm so excited about this for you!💕💕💕
Any areas you recommend for homesteading community/safe and family friendly? We’re looking at a place in Ripley County, hear Poplar Bluff. Is that a nice area?
Happy to see you arrived safely. I hope you’re feeling more settled now that you’ve had some time on the new homestead. I’d love to see the process of setting the homestead up!
I live in Missouri too. Currently I’m in the St. Louis area but we also have land in Madison county - I’m so excited to find out where you guys are now
Please shared all about the homestead! Thanks! Glad you all arrived safely! The South is very humid and with the current heat wave we are staying inside as much as possible. Heat stroke is a real threat! Be safe, stay hydrated! 😀
Want to see all the things!! Congrats to you all!! We just finished moving into our new home yesterday and I am exhausted. Have my own stories but watching yours gave me trauma. Everything is still so fresh for me here. Lol Such a blessing though. God is always so good.
Guess I bumped into your site a little late to say WELCOME TO THE SOUTH! People are migrating to our beloved South in droves. After going through culture adjustment the folks we know love it. Again, Welcome. Love your videos. Jill Sifford
Definitely yes! I think it'll be a blessing not only for new homesteaded buy to of ones too. We can always learn from the situations that come up in difficult places and how those difficulties and challenges are dealt with
I live in WY and had planted my flower boxes the day before it snowed! Crazy. And yes, you don't want to miss a turnoff or you're going to be back tracking it for many miles!
girl, you're a superwoman driving down mountains with a trailer. those sharp turns are difficult enough in a suv or even a car!! I would've been sobbing too. Thats a long drive to make I'm sure you guys are exhausted and then having to unpack, clean, deal with some remodeling on top of it?! Missouri is a beautiful state!! you're in my neck of the woods now, that's how we speak down here 😉. I saw a sign for Joplin, are you close to Springfield and branson? it's really beautiful there. I'm from NW Arkansas and we used to go up there all the time. just a couple hours drive. we used to go to Noel a lot too to go canoeing. I'm in Texas now but my family still lives in that area. I can only imagine how the humidity is affecting you! Good Luck with everything and I would love to see the process!! Glad you made it there safely!!
We are in NW AR and totally off grid. We have a few days that is just too hot to breathe but love our winds. Welcome to the area. So glad y'all are there and safe. Would love to see you from start to whatever point we get to. Glad you are here and not there any longer. Take your time and don't over work or over heat. Again WELCOME 😁.
Congratulations on your new homestead Anna I would love to see what you do bring it on love to see you turn your home into a homestead. Thank you for sharing ❤️
I would love to see you set up your homestead. I am so excited that you now live closer to me. I am so looking forward to watching more of your videos. I am going to start fermenting soon and am nervous about it. Thank you for sharing with us.
Just found you, thanks to Cassandra at Becoming a Farmgirl! Yes, snow in Wyoming in May. I went backpacking there while I was in high school. We got a foot of snow...in July! Gotta love the mountains! Welcome to the midwest!
Bless you, that was a hard move. Never traveled through that part of US but it seems road construction is everywhere and frustrating alone without the storms. The humidity and fact of being drenched in sweat during summer was a challenge for me when I moved to the south 33 years ago. That and the bugs are the worse but you will love all the benefits you will discover soon. I'm excited for you to set up your Homestead and look forward to whatever you share. Hopefully, since you are closer we will meet up one day. Blessings to you ❤🙏
OMG - what a drive you had. Congrats to you and your family for still talking after such a journal! Hard to believe that you have a son that old; I thought you'd have at most an 8 year old. Thank you for inviting us along the voyage.
I’m so glad you made it safely. I’m so happy y’all got your homestead. Y’all definitely deserve happiness and contentment. Many blessings and much love dear.
So glad y'all made it to Missouri...we are neighbors to the west in south central Kansas. I spent five years in Ozarks (Springfield/Branson) area and that was some of the best times in my life. I'd love to see you set up your Homestead! ❤
Excellent job driving there. I travel those exact highways several times a year between Western Washington and the Kansas border. Excellent job navigating them and knowing your limits with those passes. God Bless and enjoy your new home
very interested… both my wife and I have been looking into the Ozarks. You’re at least close enough if not, right there. Regardless we’re more than vicariously living through your journeys. Thank you for going through the trouble of documenting it. 🙌 from Cali but not really Californians.
Wow, what a trip! I definitely will continue to watch your journey. I am stunned, we would have done damage to each other with all the things that went wrong. You and your family are so great working together. I wish you ALL THE BEST ❤
My husband and I dream about making a move like you did. It's a scary proposition though, especially buying a home site unseen. I'm glad your new homestead in Missouri looks like it will be working out for you.
Your channel just popped up on my account. 🙂 I moved to Missouri from Washington State a little over 10 years ago and I'm so grateful to be here! I hope that this move will turn out to be a really good thing for you! ❤️ Please do share your setting up as a homestead because it will help a lot of people. I'm going to hit the subscribe button to make sure I don't miss out. I wish you the very best and welcome to Missouri!!! 😀
We retired 6 yrs ago from Maryland to East Texas. Our son drove the 26' Uhaul and we drove our car with 2 dogs. 1400 miles I sure did feel your anxiety. Our journey through the Appalachian Mtns was flawless. We drove 16 hours the first day and I thought I'd die. Hubs retired 3 months later after moving me and the boys to Texas and he brought the 2nd 24' Uhaul. I know you are feeling at home in a place with similar values....we sure are. I left my hobby farm with sheep, cow, chickens....I didn't think I'd do it again with our age and my health journey with MS, but alas...times are changing and we have hens and I hatched out baby quail just 3 weeks ago. I just found your video of your move!! What a cool time to find it. My guy and I are preparing to move there also!! I’m really enjoying getting to know the place once we got it cleaned up! We are going gangbusters in the garden and I’m excited to show you!
I had to laugh hysterically when your GPS said “La Grande” Oregon - pronouncing the end. It’s just pronounced like Grand. So funny!
