Glad to read you struck gold with your PC10! I was a bit surprised by my High Coast Timmer note of it being crap, as have been excited to try it and dont really remember the sample. The fact we all have different whisky preferences is part of the beauty of the whisky world, even if mine are quite controversial
I was waiting for the full 100 for part 2 and as I'm cheap and only get one box every two months it took a while. I think I may have to do a mini part 3 one time when I get my next box 😅 cheers!
Interesting list/judgments & some surprising ones too...No problem if you don't like Armorik Sherry cask (there are some variations on it, and despite being a sherry cask, it is still an Armorik so not quite like a "usual" Scottish sherried malt, mind you...I'm so happy with my PC 10 I opened 2 days ago, this is a fantastic batch (a review of it will come at some point) & so I manage to buy another bottle of the same batch before it disappears from the shelf (2 bottles only left of my batch). I hesitated with the PC Islay Barley 2013 (which was 10 € more here !) which i liked in a show but this PC 10 from 2022 is another story, a big upgrade from the first batches I tried...You didn't like the High Coast Timmer ? too bad, it's one of my favorite from them, great value imho. Now, Cambeltown Loch better than Springbank 10 or 12, etc ??? Hell no, just my opinion of course, though it is a nice blended malt, i prefer the previous version which was a blended whisky, precisely because it ressembles less to a Longrow or peated Springbank...Colors & tastes vary, and there is nothing we can do about it ! I was subscribed to Pour and Sip for about 15 months when it first launched but I just found there wasn't enough good in it for me to continue with. Im also not a fan of bourbon/rye so the fact there is (or was) one in every pack didn't help! I quite like whisky pioneer or whisky me now. 1 sample a month but 5cl so you can get a better feel for the whisky you are trying. Plus frees up more cash for other things.
I did wonder if they could do more tailored boxes, where you could select if you had an interest in Scotch/Bourbon/Rye/World Whisky etc and they could swap out a few samples based on that. Surely would be too much admin for them. Whisky Pioneer is great, with different whiskies that I have never heard of, certainly one that I have been tempted by. Cheers

I used to buy the Dram packs from Master of Malt and used to build my own sets. Best way to try before you buy.
