Show me a diabetic who recovered and became healthy by continuously taking the medications prescribed by the doctors. Most of them will end up with kidney disease or heart disease. I know because I've lived it. Two of my brothers and my dad died from complications, all of them diabetic and were on medications. Their quality of life were rubbish when they were put on maintenance medications. I suffered a stroke in 2021 due to high sugar levels as I was consuming a lot of processed sugary foods. It was a wake up call as I was only 53. I was put on 8 different medications, couldn't walk properly, very weak, etc. I then embarked on a journey of changing my diet, exercising etc. I then discovered cold showers, breathing exercises. After a year I became stronger but still wasn't feeling right. I decided to stop ALL medications and continued doing what I was doing. Fast forward to today. I have never been in better shape, able to do things I couldn't do in my late 30s (I was at over 90 kg at 5'8 height size 38 waist). I am now at a robust 75 kg, size 31 waist, able to do physically challenging stuff. I even managed to do wakeboarding and mountain trekking with my teenage kids. I can walk for 2 hours without even getting tired. I've now discovered grounding and has made life even better. The best part is, I am not dieting at all. I'm back to eating rice etc. But I'm not being silly. I only drink water and coffee, I avoid highly processed food as much as possible. The feeling of freedom that your body will feel is immeasurable and unexplainable. My principle now is that I have to maintain discipline in doing the things that have worked no matter how difficult (cold showers during winter is not a joke). But once you get into the habit, everything becomes easy. And it shouldn't be expensive. I do not go to the gym I do my exercises at home. I eat mainly meat, eggs, fruits. I double filter my water to get rid of fluoride etc. This is my story, and I'm still discovering stuff.

If he can manage some 72-96h fasts the benefits will be amazing! Just one such fat per YEAR could make a big difference in your health as the years go by because it repairs the immune system, which is vital not only for fighting pathogens but also cancer, autoimmune issues and even repairing the damage of aging! Some benefits of occasional extended fasting and lowering carbs in the diet: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time, including in the heart and lungs.
Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. When insulin is high, vit D stays locked in the blood cells.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion plaques, growths and pathogens by the immune system. This will also remove spikes quicker, whether natural or unnatural in origin!
Your body recycles up to 1/3 of all immune bodies in a 72h fast, rejuvenating your entire immune system. This helps prevent the onset of new autoimmune conditions, which develop through a leaky gut and damaged immune system.
Blood sugar and insulin are lowered when fasting, reducing inflammation and allowing the immune bodies to move freely through the body.
Blood clotting is lessened and clots and plaques are removed over time.
Fasting restores your circadian rhythm to normal over time.
T cells and T reg cells are vital in fighting cancer, autoimmune disease and infections but as we age the thymus stops making as many of them. Fasting releases stem cells, which then can become new T cells. It also releases growth hormone, which regenerates the thymus itself!
Fasting restores NAD+ and increases nitric oxide release to open blood vessels.
Reflexes and short term memory are increased.
Fasting increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors and increases average telomere length in stem cell pools.
Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures.
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell required for viruses to replicate.
The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting.
What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast but most teas and herbs are OK. Supplements and meds often break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many meds are dangerous to take while fasting.
Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building.
Fasting activates autophagy (literally self eating). This will cause cells to recycle damaged proteins and foreign matter such as viruses.
Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue!
The obese will lose loose skin while fasting, but the frail will have increased growth hormone release, which helps to make more lean tissue and reduce frailness.
Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility for some women.
Fasting reduces pain and anxiety by stimulating the endocannabinoid system, just like the effect of CBD oil
Just 24h of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half! This reduces leptin resistance, which impairs immune function.
Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers. Some patients may need continued acid reduction medication while fasting.
Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose. Except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids.
It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism, fighting infection and cancer prevention!
Fasting releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers.
When not in ketosis, the brain can only burn carbohydrate, which produces a great deal of damaging ROS the brain has to deal with.
Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level.
When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, destroying them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer.
A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs.
Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. They also help with dementia and many other issues even if you take them while not fasting!
Glycine and trimethylglycine can also be useful supplements while fasting that won't break ketosis and have many benefits.
Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness or tremors, then simply break the fast and seek advice.

Every patient was on some type of medication, pages and pages of medications…….it’s not until I was out of the field that I did my own research and discovered we are being overdosed by our own system, our drs were all drug pushers,,,,,,I am predisposed to diabetes with my mom & uncle being diabetic, so at age 63 I changed my diet, stopped eating processed foods, high carbs, sugar, even fruit, never became diabetic, after 4 years I have no desire for any of those non-foods……but try and convince ppl to do the same thing, is an uphill battle. If you want to resolve diabetes then you need to cut out the starch and sugar, both of which create high glucose in the blood which drives high insulin, which drives insulin resistance and eventually even pancreatic beta cell exhaustion. Cutting out the glucose is the number 1 thing that diabetics can do to cure themselves.

Constantly change the goal posts (lower "acceptable" ranges e.g. blood pressure, blood glucose), and ensure you have your customers for life. It's especially helpful if your consumer base is primarily made up of people who would rather take pills to treat the symptoms than take control of their diet and lifestyle.

There is also a condition called "Drug-Induced-Diabetes" that not too many doctors like to talk about or acknowledge. Drugs like steroids and psychiatric meds like antidepressants, mood stabilizers and antipsychotics are also one of the biggest culprits and are notorious for causing the dreaded "Metabolic Syndrome" which is the precursor to diabetes. I know about this first hand from watching my husband who was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder 32 years ago and as a result, developed diabetes. Dieting and exercising isn't very effective since people with psych issues can't just stop taking the offending drugs because they will then relapse so the only thing the doctors do is try to lower the dose to the lowest therapeutic level. I know there is also a lot of controversy on some channels here on YT about whether or not people should be on psych meds at all but all I could say is that in my husband's case, I wish he could just stop his meds altogether but unfortunately, it isn't possible because he has serious case of psychosis and he would most likely suffer a serious relapse and end up hospitalized.

Being super - sensitive to any med from time I still try to reduce this already miniscule dose BUT within 3 days I'm back to square one. For decades my late husband and I tried every type of alternative but nothing touched it. As one friend told me years ago when I again tried to reduce "If you only had one leg, you'd need a crutch. Accept you actually need these to live a reasonable life". I'll never accept it in my brain but I would love to.

I've been saying this for two decades. Sometime in the 1990s the international medical community changed the standards for diagnosing diabetes, and also created a new condition known as pre-diabetes. My research back then showed that it was the pharmaceutical industry that pushed for the changes to the international standards. Of course, ever since then, every year has seen an 'explosion' of new cases, and an explosion in drug consumption.

I don't entirely agree. A truly normal person has blood glucose tightly controlled around 4.5 - 6 (UK measures, multiply by 18 for US numbers). Diabetes is not diagnosed until the BG is over 11.1 on at least two occasions. There's a huge gap between normal and diabetic where the "diabetic progression" can be stopped. Diet works but of course they don't tell you that.

    • @chrischillingworth4812
      @chrischillingworth4812 2 месяца назад +3

You got lucky! I was sent to a dietitian "for my cholesterol". She was obsessed with removing all fat from my diet and replacing it with more carbs. My lipids got WORSE and I gained about 15 kg all round my gut. She accused me of "failing to comply with the diet" which is what they always say.
Fortunately I moved and got a half decent doctor who actually diagnosed me. I bought a glucometer, of which she didn't approve, which taught me to eat the exact opposite of what the dietitian told me. She was also dead against my low carb/paleo/ketogenic diet which she said was very dangerous. After ten years she admitted that "by now we would have expected you to be on two or three diabetes meds". It's nearly twenty years now and I'm still on none, plus I dropped most of my other meds.
I eat a small breakfast, a thickly buttered oatcake with smoked salmon or ham or cheese, then I normally don't eat again until I am hungry, any time between late afternoon and late evening, irrespective of whether I spend the day sat at my computer or going for a long walk. I avoid wheat and industrially produced omega 6 seed oils and don't eat many other grains, I concentrate on meat, poultry, game and fish and mostly local and seasonal veggies, and keep to less than 50g carbs.
The Government says we must eat 230 - 300g carbs and as little fat as possible. Strangely it is only since high carb low fat diets were invented in the seventies and imposed in the eighties that diabetes and obesity became so commonplace. They also tell you it is "important" to eat wheat with every meal, unless you are actually diagnosed with celiac. I have a friend with celiac and my problems are different, they are dose-related. I can eat the rusk in two or three sausages without effect, which he can't. Much more and my guts grumble and I blow off like a carthorse. More still and I get acid reflux, for which I had drugs prescribed for about a decade. Basically, they tell you to eat the most profitable diet, which makes you ill, so they can prescribe the most profitable drugs.
The only thing my diet has failed to cure is that I am now nearly 20 years older. I'm sure their intended treatment would have made me much fatter, on far more drugs, and probably already dead, like so many other people.

Another terrific video on diabetes. Yes, you're spot-on by pointing out that Big Pharma the medical establishment are major beneficiaries from diabetes diagnoses but, dare I say, the food industry is also very culpable. There's a war between sugar and people welfare - and I'm concluding that the former is winning by playing on peoples's weak willpower. I'm very conscious of food labelling but nevertheless believe that the food industry could do far more in helping people in their blood-sugar consumption discipline. I've suggested, for example, that my local German discount stores e.g.Aldi and Lidl section off their food shelves for food with minimum sugar ingredients but, so far, no success. Also I've suggested that they have promotions for food with minimum sugar ingredients but, again, no success. As well, governments could help by compelling food producers and food retailers towards these ends.
Many thanks again for your videos re diabetes and I look forward to more in the future.

Thank you. Something to add: People desperate to lowering their sugar intake could develop their own shopping strategy and not wait for others help, for example: Avoid shopping when hungry (a small throat candy will do), Start shopping in reverse order from the very back of the shop (fruits and veggies, personal care products) towards the cashier, Skip the middle aisles, Limit your shopping time to the half or less, this way you'll be rushing before the deadline and loose weight. If feasible order online from the comfort of your home: Beware of the music special effects or the holiday tickets attractions on the sweet items. Prepare your own treats/small chocolates at home with controlled amounts of molasses to start with (kids love the special shapes and so easy to prepare). Anything else?

The country of Chile is changing this, they told the food companies to change the food or get lost, the said no at first and then changed the formulations , they also have a food grade system.

All the drug commercials are brainwashing, they celebrate the drug, give it a catchy name and upbeat little tune and people rush to their Dr. to get it.
My husband has been on met formin for a few years and recently the doc put him on insulin. His blood sugar took a nose dive so he stopped taking it with the docs approval but never did the doctor say lose weight and exercise ( he’s 6’2”, 300lbs). He’s 67. He can barely walk as his knees are shot. If you’re on the fence, take control of your health now before it’s too late. The false health industry wants you to die a slow, profitable death.

I love sweets and sugar. I have desserts every day. I carry candy in my pockets. I eat tons of bread and cookies. However, I am not even pre-diabetic based on my bloodwork. Not obese either. Why? Could it be that I am constantly on my feet doing stuff. I simply can not sit in front of TV. I will always think of a reason to get up and work on something. I am human humming bird. My firm belief is, one can eat anything he wants and likes as long as he burns it off, and not let it accumulate in his body. By the way, all I drink is well water.

How was you HOMA-IR index? Hyperactivity could be a sign of eating too much sugar and a way the body defense system is handling the excess. It's a vicious circle I'm afraid. There is another extreme where economic/small eaters compensate through sedentarity.

Thank god, very early in the Covid Lockdown, I finally got my D LEVEL supplemented to above 50ng/ml (CovidSafe!) from a dangerously low 6ng/ml. And then, like magic, my long severe depression lifted and all my multiplying & debilitating body pains subsided. I had just been diagnosed "prediabetic", but with new hope I began a new Keto/Intermittent Fasting lifestyle. I soon dropped 80 pounds and my prediabetes was also disappeared! Constant sharp insulin spikes are the problem, and are not hard to avoid by simply choosing lowest carb foods, and eating less often.

My Insulin level tested a 1 unit on a scale of 0-22 units. Type 1s don't have insulin.
Type 2s have excessice insulin but the body doesn't utiluze it. Type 2s will test for insulin on that same scale in the 20s.

Stayed away from medical doctors, rarely eat processed foods and get exercise as a regular part of my day... and I never go to the gym... lost 60 lbs through daily fasting. Just stop listening to medical doctors and pretty much everyone else, lol.... oh yeah, AND I have more time to do the things I want to do.

Watch your glucose and insulin spikes and keep control of them by the foods you eat and even drinking water with vinegar 20 mins before a meal and you don’t need to end up diabetic… it will even help you lose weight if you walk 8-9km a day..
