You're welcome Bob. I was happy with how this turned out. Was planning on doing a color overlay for the smoke but the brown tones that showed up when I inverted that layer worked so well that I left it as is.

Thanks Rich! I have done a couple of dispersion effects in the past but never a smokey effect which I think looks great. I am working on converting this technique to Photoshop Elements, the hard part is doing the luminosity mask trick which requires channels to do it well for smoke. I may have to do a plugin trick to make it work in PSE.
