This will not work against a trained attacker that keeps the blade Infront and the movements small . Remember the machete can be sharp! It is not a stick. Very little pressure is needed to cause damage. Another thing to consider, most attackers have two hands , not one. That is not being addressed.
Excellent training. The only issue that I see repeatedly in this type of defense is the double forearm block to the attackers knife arm. His arm can easily slip by after making contact with both forearms due to the force of the impact, sweat, etc. If it does that blade will be slicing directly across the midsection of the gut at best. I know we can "what if" for days, but I've learned from experience that going with it instead of creating a sudden stop impact works much better and safer.
Get the target on the ground and disable the target. It's what you're *supposed* to be trained to do in the police force and military but they dont anymore
