Very helpful thank you. But what if you need a colour with a specific hexcode?
IMPORTANT!! The only way this will work is if you make a "color fill" layer and set the blend mode to colour.
To do this with a specific hexcode, we will be using the colour fill adjustment layer, and our blend mode will be "Color." So to do this, you'll need to mask out the car and make sure you mask around the areas you want your colour layer to apply to. There are different ways of doing this. You can make a colour fill and invert the mask layer to take away bits of the car you don't want to color, which will be done by using the brush tool with the selection colours black and white (if you're unsure what this is, you can go to the timestamp 1:55 to see how it works). You can also manually cut out the areas that you want your colour layer to apply to. You can do this by using any method, such as the pen tool, polygonal lasso select tool, etc. It just depends on what you want to do. Then, when your area is selected, duplicate your layer, make a colour fill layer, and clip your colour fill layer to your duplicated layer. There are more in-depth explanations of this below.
If you are paint-brushing your colors with the white and black tool follow this step below:
If you are manually taking away the areas with the brush tool and with the black and white colors, follow these steps: You want to create a colour fill layer. If you don't know how to do this, go to the bottom right side of your screen and click the icon that is half white and half black, then press "Color Fill." Now you can enter your specific hex code. If you're unsure, the location where you need to enter your hexcode is it is next to the "#." Then you want to change the blend mode to "Color." To do this, you want to go to your layers panel (on the right side of your screen), and above your layers, you should see a word that says "Normal." Click that and find "Color." When you find it, click it. Then click the white box that will appear next to your object layer. Then you want to go to your paintbrush tool. A shortcut to that tool is just pressing "B" on your keyboard. Then you want to go to the colour picker area, which is at the bottom left side of your screen. The colour you want to change it to is black. To reset your colour picker colors, you can press "D" on your keyboard, and to switch between your 1st and 2nd color, you can press "X" on your keyboard. So just make sure that your first colour is black. then you can change your brush size by going to the top of your screen or a shortcut for that is just by pressing '[' - (smaller) and ']' - (bigger) on your keyboard. The black color removes areas, and the white color adds areas to your mask. Make sure you are selecting the white box next to your object layer, and now you can paint.
If you are cutting out the selection where you want the colour to apply, follow these steps:
Like I said before, you can use any tool you want that will select your car. This involves the pen tool, magic wand tool, object selection, etc. You just want to select the areas you want your color fill layer to apply to. When you have selected the areas, (you'll know when it has be selected when a dotted line will outline your selection.) You want to press CTRL + J on your keyboard; this will duplicate the selected areas, giving them an individual layer. Then create a color fill layer by going to the bottom right side of your screen again and clicking the icon that is half white and half black. Then click color fill. You want to clip your color fill layer to the layer you just duplicated-the area of your car that you want the color to apply to. To clip it, right click your color fill layer and press "Clipping Mask." The only way this will work is if your duplicated layer is right below your color fill layer. Now you can enter in your specific hexcode. If you're unsure, the area to enter your hexcode is next to the '#'.
If you run into any problems let me know!
@@AstroWasTaken I am so sorry about the late reply, I didn't get a notification, but yes! i will :)
what if the color we are trying to change is white or black then how do we change the color?
Sorry for the late reply. I will make a video on this soon
sorry this is very late but i made a video on how to change white into any color
Please dear make glowing thumbnail for RUclips in photopea
Please help I am in the middle of a project that is due tomorrow. So I have an image which contain bike of grey colour and I want to change it to a different colour for example white or black how will I do that. Waiting for quick reply.
I just got home now. To change a grey color to black or white you'll need to follow these steps:
1. Make a selection of the areas of your bike you want to change the colour of. You can use the lasso select tool, magic wand tool, pen tool, etc.
2. When you have the parts of your bike selected, go to the adjustment layer (right corner of your screen, which is half black and half white).
3. Click curves
4. Click anywhere on the curves menu to create a point. To make your bike white drag the dot up and it make it black drag the dot down. Play around the settings until you're happy with it.
@@lisadoesstuff9368 @LisaDoesStuff Thanks for quick reply but I was restless and tried another method. Like you said, I used the magic wand tool(which was a great help even though not perfect)to select spaces and then did a colour fill of my desired colour and chose blend mode from normal to linear burn as you mentioned in one of the replies. It took me about an hour to precisely select all the area one by one(using magic wand tool making about 45 different layers) then selecting white spaces with lasso tool manually to completely cover the desired area without white spaces in between. Still was only able to do black colour now will try the method you mentioned above for white. I respect you replying to comments taking time out of your work because I nearly lost hope after knowing It cannot be done for greyscale colours but then as usual I hustled. You earned a subscriber and I hope your channel gets success. Thanks.

What if i have white car? :/
What if I want the color white or black though?
Sorry for the reply reply I didn't get a notification. I made a tutorial on this, is this what you mean? ruclips.net/video/XPn0vVXc42Q/видео.html
I follow the steps but the hue and saturation changes the the whole image rather than just the colour of the object I want to focus on
have you tried the sample hue trick at 1:06? this might fix your problem, and do you have the same color objected in your background? for example, like a red car, red wall, and a red wall - do you have anything like this?
what if the car was white and want it to be green?
How bout when downloading the pic it goes back to the original colour
Sorry, what do you mean by this?
How do I turn a color to white or black
I'm working on that video now
The video is now out on my RUclips channel!
If my car is white how can I do with that ??
If it's white then follow these steps:
1. Make a selection of the white object you want to change
2. Make a color fill by going to the "New adjustment layer" at the bottom. Its a circle and its half white and half black. When you found that icon click it and press "Color fill" and change it to whatever color you want
3. When you have the color you want go to the blend mode. It will say "normal" but click it and press *Liner burn* or *multiply* , i recommend liner burn but it just depends on your color

what if the color of the object I want to change is white !?
I will make a tutorial on this! But for now, you want to make a selection of the parts you want to turn white, and create a hue/saturation layer. Make sure your hue/saturation layer is ON TOP of your selection. Right click the hue/saturation layer and press "clipping mask" then on the hue/saturation layer, set the lightness to 100
Is your object white? and you want to change it into color?
@@lisadoesstuff9368 yes it is a white couch I want to see how it would look in different colors.
