This is a really niche breakdown, I've never ever played chess in my life and I understood every second of it. thank you my g, that's really amazing to hear because that's basically exactly what I'm trying to do, help explain chess to people without them needing much prior knowledge!!
Emory played like nobody else, skipped all the fundamentals, and clowned grandmasters. I wish we knew his iq, because of stories I’ve heard, like him learning Russian in 2 weeks, it’s probably around 150+. He’s easily top 1/10,000 in intelligence.
I’ve only been playing since March 2020 when lockdown started so a few months shy of 3 years and I taught myself using various online resources! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed man!

Btw it ain’t check mate he can kill with the pawn and take queen taking him out of check mate . You might need to check your calculations they do be wrong. Also he could have won from this position if he didn’t forfeit . Also can u show this in a vid

11:12 I'm trying to understand why these next couple moves were thrown in... Will just kinda brushes over them, but I'm not seeing why Tate went Rc8 first instead of bringing the rook all the way over to the H file to go for the kill. Similarly, I'm not sure why the response to Rc8 is to push the c pawn... nor why the response to that is for Tate to play f6. Can anyone help out?
Beautiful and educational breakdown of such a dominant game from Emory Tate, truly more and more impressed the longer i study his games, great video and keep it up 👍🏼👑
It's hard to say without a lot of conjecture but arguably yes given the fact that he was in the air force and so didn't dedicate anywhere near as much time to studying as most high level players!
7:40 that was his only move he can't castle out of check and the only other logical move was King F8. Nonetheless your doing a great job with these breakdowns.
@@Rakshay223 Yes, that was an option but the MOST logical one is to simply move the King out of danger. I was just saying that WillTaylorChess made a mistake stating that Tate didn't want to castle out when castling wasn't even an option.

The Top OG! Emory Tate!
I like when you break down the statistics between their moves. It shows of often Tate chose to go against the normal thought of play and won.
It’s true, had some spectacular losses and even more spectacular wins.
