Experts will tell you what cannot be done, talent outside their field of expertise develop revolutionary products. I think it is hilarious and great that a pianist is running a radar detector company! Figured you were a sparky like me ;-) BTW, you made the right decision with discussing the inner workings of Theia, an educated consumer is your best customer. Good luck and God Bless!
What is great about radar is that the same principles apply to audio. I have been an audio enthusiast for years, learning to build my own DACs and amplifiers when I was younger. That taught me about concepts such as DSP, filter taps, frequencies, harmonics, fundamentals, the use of FPGAs in signal processing, etc. Things like SNR, sample rate, etc, all apply to audio signals too - a signal is just a signal. I am certainly not an engineer in the way that my EEs are, but I have enough of an understanding to function as a system architect and push our team to novel, multidisciplinary solutions to problems.
Honestly the degree does not matter, teaches one how to think critically. I designed and built a few amps, some worked others flamed, though I was pushing component limits at the time. Actually the thermal characteristics of heat sinks were over exaggerated! Go figure! You sound extremely knowledgeable in the field and enjoy your learning sessions. Good balance between geeky and general info, but would like to see more depth.
As a Bourbon connoisseur, I like your choices. I'm currently enjoying a bottle of George T Stagg, I have a William Larue Weller on the shelf next to it. Blantons is an excellent choice as well. I typically only drink expensive Bourbons, that way I can't afford to be an alcoholic. Sip, Savior and Enjoy. Don't Pour, Pound and Passout.
Appreciate the q&a Jon, and giving us new to Radenso a background. I’ve been an Escort user following my dad’s use of the first near cb sized to the Passport. Looking forward to the purchase of a Theia!!!! Here’s to safety and health to you and your team during this time.
Another great video Jon. So happy for the improved loudness on the audio side . I can listen to it in my truck now . Hope Voldemort is over and done with soon , so we can start pre-orders
Hi Terry, Theia will not be water resistant. We ride motorcycles as well and wanted it to be but the cost of making Theia waterproof would have had to sacrifice in hardware and pricing. However, I’m sure other companies will make aftermarket accessories to help you use Theia on a motorcycle. Thanks for the question! -Randy
@@RadensoRadar That's crazy. I'm in upstate NY and can get it easily. Try findit a local store that can special order for you. I have one that can get me most items. Can't wait for Theia!
Hello Jon - hope the crew and yourself (and families) are doing well and safe. That brings back memories - guys of lidar ... guess i am a member of the 1%. (lol) Thank you for the video / update - take care 'Spin' aka spinner55
In a previous video, it was mentioned that Thea can detect the Spectre or other radar detector detectors. Will Thea offer a specific alert when those signals are detected?
Best wishes to you and your staff. Stay well and healthy and keep up the great work. I do miss your side kick :) What a sweety. Tell her we all said hi. GO THEIA!
Ordered my original Whistler 25 Years ago after being pulled over for 48 in a 45. This trivial "enforcement" doesn't solve any problem, but instead has the opposite effect...
Would you consider taking up front deposits to get higher on the wait list? Might be willing to throw down a few hundred bucks. - Your lidar testing buddy from last year
Jon,I have been keeping up with Theia updates from New Zealand, due to time difference i don't get to see live broadcast so have to watch replay, thanks for all the updates you share, I do have a question, its not about Theia itself as I have no doubts it's will be a game changer but its about the windscreen mount, will it be the traditional suction mount which typically falls off or have you clever lot re-engineered it,if it is a traditional suction mount can Theia be mounted at the bottom of the windscreen so if it does fall off it wont damage it too much or will it affect Theia too much? Thanks
Hi Dave, this wasn't live and is a recording so no worries. We are still working on the mount but we recommend always mounting any type of radar detector high on the windshield to get the most range. Thanks -Randy
Hey Jon, looking forward to joining the Radenso family. Question... when u design the direct hardwire kit, will it have a mute button attached in line so it can be to mounted close to the driver, so we dont have to look and reach up to the windshield to access mute?
Thanks Jon for the update, my question is will Theia be able to work together/parallel with an app or a Radenso app just like V1G2 does it with a third party JBV1 Android app?
Hi Jon, stay well & stay safe. Let me know if you have any global supply chain needs I can help you with in light of COVID-19. Additionally, as you seek out and look to determine contract manufacturers that meet all your mfg. and quality process qualifications, again let me know how I can help you.
Yall are gonna lose so much in sales by not giving a time estimate or price estimate, i could get an r7 now and if the theia is 500 then no problem ill eat the 100 dollar cost of selling off the r7 but if the theia is 1k its gonna suck to add the $100 loss on the r7 on top of that (possibly even close to a full loss on the r7 if the theia is so much better that nobody wants the large supply of second hand r7)
Jon didn’t talk about COVID very long, it was just a chance for us to update everyone on Radenso Theia as we were working from home for the past several weeks. -Randy
@@RadensoRadar oh, ok. I'll rewatch it. Sure looked line the first few minutes were about lock down orders, one person in an office at a time, staying healthy, practicing good hygiene...I'll look again. Maybe I was mistaken.

Gave the audio a 6db bump since you let me know it was hard to hear!
Will you add a user learn mode? In case a user encounters a new radar?

When, and where can I purchase an Radenso theia radar detector
Love some Eagle Rare. Good value too!
Eagle rare is good stuff too! Hard to find around here.

What will the ramp up be like? I'm hoping more like v1...would be nice to be able to adjust that.
Hello Jon and Mindi
Hope you guys are doing OK, miss all the updates on Theia, are you planning any updates soon?
Thanks, be safe and take care.

Hey Scott, we would love to! That is still being developed but it is on our wish list
Excellent Jon, thank you for taking the time to share ... I would like to hear you play the piano at some point.. so practice! 😄
Very nice Jon----Can you throw in a free Radenso T-shirt with each Theia Purchase :). Im loving those shirts!!!
Best wishes to you and your staff. Stay well and healthy and keep up the great work. I do miss your side kick :) What a sweety. Tell her we all said hi. GO THEIA!
Can you at least tell us, is the price going to be above or below $1000.
Below
Seems like a fair price under a grand.
Would a 36 watt usb c power adapter work for theia
Will you make a option to add front and rear dash camera powered off the detector?
Ordered my original Whistler 25 Years ago after being pulled over for 48 in a 45. This trivial "enforcement" doesn't solve any problem, but instead has the opposite effect...
Yup, I totally agree.
Will there be an upgrade program (discount) for those who have a Pro M?

Hi John is anything happening with theia I know the lockdown situation I was just wondering if it was still be worked on
Will Theia be setup/programmed for NewZealand conditions?
In the future yes. We can't give a ETA at this time.

That's in the works!
if theia doesnt have an easter egg of a piano startup played by jon lets just say ill be very upset.
Thanks Jon for the update, my question is will Theia be able to work together/parallel with an app or a Radenso app just like V1G2 does it with a third party JBV1 Android app?
Yes, Theia will have the hardware ability to interact with third party apps!
Is Genevo still involved or now a competitor?
Nobody is involved with Theia except Radenso.
I have an question; is it gonna be stealth?

Get it out to the market before there is no market left
I don’t suppose the USB-C Jack is recessed or you’d like to hire me to design a fancy cable that doesn’t have a big usb c “head” sticking out the unit
