Awesome video and love photos of bears in snow! Looks like Brooke Olympus Explorer was there with you too! I am visiting both GTN and YNP this coming May 2021. It will be our family first for this +1,000 miles drive. We usually go to the Rockies every year, but decided to change the scenery this time. Cheers!!

Awesome shots of the bears. Very cool. If your interested in some cool wildlife you should try to get to Jackson Wy for the winter elk sleigh rides. We try to go every year in February and stay at the motel across from the refuge. We live in Missoula Montana so it is also about a 6 hour drive for us. Last year the sleigh driver took us to the edge of a heard with about 3500 head. It was a blast. SOOOOO, anyhow, I just subscribed to your channel today because of the move shoot move videos you have done. Last week I ordered the iOptron skyguider pro camera mount with iPolar Should be here tomorrow. Now I wish I had seen your videos first. I felt when I ordered it that it was way more then I need or even understand. Plus it is not very easy to take a laptop everywhere up in the mountains with me. I have built a Jackery clone so I can power everything easier. But now after watching your videos I have a lot more remorse of buying the one I did. What is your opinion of the Move shoot move vs iOptron skyguider pro with iPolar. I shoot a panasonic S1 with a 14mm sigma art lens or a panasonic 24-105 lens or a sigma 150-600 lens. What is your opinion? Thank you Maurice (a confused old fart)

Hey, thanks for the subscription! Interesting idea with the elk, i'll have to look into that!
First of all, I don't think you really made a mistake in the iOptron. It's a great tracker. the iPolar may not have been necessary, but if you do decide to use it you'll get perfect polar alignment.
as far as comparing the 2.... it's like comparing an f350 to a jeep wrangler. Both are very capable vehicles but designed for different purposes. The iOptron is great for the heavy and long lenses. It will be able to handle that sigma 600mm sigma and will also work perfectly with the 14mm. Where the MSM is more like a jeep. Smaller, lighter, more fun and can get you up into the mountains. The down side with the MSM is it's less accurate when you polar align, and it CAN NOT support the weight of the heavy lens. so all in all - with the 14mm lens i'd prefer the MSM... with anything longer the iOptron is going to perform better.

@@chasingluminance haha funny you choose 4x4 rigs to compare. I am a offroader/overlander. Built several rigs over the years. Well the tracker showed up last night and I sat for a couple hours deciding what I wanted to do. My wife actually opened the box and put it in front of me and said"ok now it's open at least look at it". lol. So got it put together last night. Tonight hopefully we will have clear skies to try it out. Does not look good at the moment. Sounds like the weekend is suppose to be nice. So, being a confused old fart. Maybe you can help? Where does a person start? I have watched many many videos about astrophotography. But every video assumes a person knows where to start from ground zero. How do you tell what is what in the skies? They talk about meteor shower. But where at in the skies?moth south east west? What books are good? See I'm lost. LOL

Great video, I’m just starting out on my astrophotography journey! I’ve been shooting for fun for a year and decided I liked it enough to buy the MSM and a better tripod and the rokinon 14mm lens. I’m hoping to start getting some better pictures and have found your Channel incredibly helpful. Very informative and to the point videos but it was great to see this video. I was in the Tetons around this same time, we were hoping to find bear 399 and her 4 Cubs but weren’t successful! Hello from Utah!

we missed 399 by 1 day! She left the main road for about a week just as we got there. Man, that was an amazing weekend. do you know Brooke?

Really enjoyed the video. Worth much more views and likes. And is that lady an Olympus visionary? I think I've seen her at Olympus 150-400mm promotional video but I could be wrong. Anyways, it's so cool.

I was more than a little surprised to see Brooke Littlebear there! I adore her work. I actually came here to see your setup and how you’re using it. I have an 80D I got to shoot with the Tamron 150-600 G2, buy all my pictures out at 600mm are complete garbage. I can’t figure out why. I’ve stuck to shooting with it on my 5D Mk4 where it’s been a dream, but so would like the extra distance a crop fame gives.
What settings are you usually using? Like what ISO and aperture are working for you? Also what focus mode are you using? Castlenaturestudio.com

the most important setting for wildlife I think is shutter speed. I try not to drop below 1/500 for these bears... lens wide open and set the ISO to auto so it does some of the thinking for you. I use af servo
