    No reason why you cannot power it with a large LiPo as the DC input voltage is 11-18V, as long as the pack has enough mAh to support what and at what rate you're charging! As for the charging cables, it is very good that the selection is provided and a good one too BUT I changed all my connectors from 'T' to XT60's because of the 'iffy' nature of the contact with the 'T' style! By having the 'T' in the middle of charging cable there is a possible failure point and is why I use direct connection from the charger to the battery, whatever connector is required! I am intrigued and am looking for a portable DC capable charger so will look forward to any follow up vids you might do on this neat looking charger! cheers Ali, nice work again as always!

    I just got this charger. The only issue I have found is the calibration function. You can do the calibration and save it. Charge a pack with the calibrated numbers, which is good. Turn the charger off and back on and your adjusted numbers will be back to default. Not cool at all.

      How you doing ?
      I have a question, I just bought this charger 3 days. I have for cell batteries for a typhoon H drone.
      When one battery gets done charging
      Will it charge it to 16.7 volts ?
      Also will it beep when it's done charging ?
      Thanks Keith Kuhn

    I have a life span over the output power of each port of this charger.
    It is 150W, but I would like to know if I can get 150W on one of the ports only. Or, how two ports do I get the 150W? Therefore, each port can deliver 75W which is delivered as 150Ws. Or can you get 150W with one port only? Because you want to plug 4 1500mw batteries into one port only and send one port only 75W doesn't have my right design.
    Thank you very much.

      well I have been using it here in China and later I brought it to Pakistan and used it there. No issues so far whatsoever. it works flawlessly. I left it in Pakistan at my home so whenever I go during holidays I do not have to carry any Charger. I can just use it to charge batteries.

  • @harpoon_bakery162
    @harpoon_bakery162 5 лет назад

    why did you choose 2.2A on the LIPO display screen (bottom-left), i thought all batteries were safer to be charged at 1.0A only! or am i looking at something wrong??

    • @alishanmao
      @alishanmao  5 лет назад

      I set A rates as per battery mAh. a 3300mAh battery I can charge on 3.3A, 5200mAh I can charge at 5A. but this is personal choice. To be safe and to keep batteries life longer, I normally never go above 3.3A

    • @harpoon_bakery162
      @harpoon_bakery162 5 лет назад

      @@alishanmao ok, so by doing the A-rate like that, that equates to 1A charge rate, right? so for example, if i set the unit for 2.2A rate charge in the charger and I have a 2200mah 3S battery , it is essentially doing 1A charge rate , which is what everyone preaches on the internet forums as far as NEVER charge a battery above 1A rate. Am I thinking correctly here? thanks so much for your response and time taken to answer my questions!!!

    I was wondering about powering the charger by battery when charging batteries, can you charge a small 4s off a large 3s? or does the battery providing the power have to be the same or higher voltage than the one being charged? and can it charge on both charging ports off a battery power, or can you only charge one at a time?

    • @alishanmao
      @alishanmao  4 года назад

      you can. but its just that 3S will run out quicker maybe.

  • @checkeredflagfilms

    I've had this charger for about 3 months. The Ch 2 does not seems to be charging equally as well as CH 1. In the beginning, this was not the case. Both channels seemed to be taking about the same amount of time to charge a LiPo battery. Do you have any ideas what might be causing this??

    • @alishanmao
      @alishanmao  4 года назад

      You can run calibration in settings that should fix it

    • @checkeredflagfilms
      @checkeredflagfilms 4 года назад

      @@alishanmao FYI...I found out I inadvertently set the CH2 at 0.02 amp charge rate while CH1 was set at 1.0 amp. Obviously, pilot error! My fault and not that of the charger.

    And as with almost all these small multi-function devices, the maximum discharge current is ridiculously low.
    If you need to test large batteries (5000mAh and above), to know their actual capacity, you have to wait too long and, anyway, it is not a test that guarantees a reliable data, the current absorption is too low, very different from the one during a flight on to a multirotor.

    Love you alishanmao but tho's chargers if they stop working, HTRC will not offer support, least not here in the US. I got 2 from SMC and SMC and i could never get a hold of that company to get a replacement. Our emails and calls all gone un answered for 6 months with no answer and SMC stopped selling their chargers for that reason. I have the HT206 DUO and the single version (white) of what you got here and both stopped working just by discharging a lipo once to a few times. Great display and firmware but thats all it did good, balance charge was not that great and died using discharge mode.
