ALONE IN THE ALLAGASH | Overnight Camping Trip with My Dog

- Remote wilderness canoe camping trip with my dog. Gracie and I hiked in to a remote (walk-in access only) pond in the North Maine Woods. Hafey Pond supports a wild brook trout population. Although there were trout surfacing for flies, I did not catch one for dinner and went to sleep hungry.

Just started watching, I love anything about making old cabins better, I am 80, thanks for taking me on your journey! miss Gail, Lancaster, CA
Thanks for watching Gail, I hope to be able to make more videos like this
Love your adventures and your Videos and of course your beautiful dog. 👍🐾🙏
Thank you 🙏 I appreciate your kindness
You are brave! I never had the guts to get up in that tower.
Thanks for sharing, my wife and I hiked into a very similar pond last fall. sat on the shore line in the rain for hours. We were the guest of a few similar 4 legged residents. Good times!
That is awesome!
Glad I subscribed to ur channel, I especially like the Maine stuff, that's home.
Awesome! Thank you!
Just beautiful! You know how to film-excellent editing-know just what to show. I learn so much about gear, what you need when camping in Maine. Great channel 👍from California.
Thank you!
👍....great adventure
Thanks 👍Rich
Man ... The chills I got when u were climbing that tower... Awesome View! LiveAction
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful video! Can't wait to get back there!
Us too!
Looks like August judging from the pure fireweed. Best time bugs arent so bad.
Enjoyed it Corey! Not sure how far you had to travel to go to this pond but it sure looks like it was worth it!
It was worth the effort even though I didn’t catch dinner
The Maine Woods 👍
Here's one for you Mr. The Main Woods. God bless you and keep you. Keep honoring God. Therefore the Lord God of Israel saith: ‘I said indeed that thy house and the house of thy father should walk before Me for ever.’ But now the Lord saith, ‘Be it far from Me; for them that honor Me I will honor, and they that despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.
Thank you Glory, God Bless
Awesome videos
Glad you like them!
Enjoying your videos friend. New fan here
Thanks and welcome
At 5:56, life has been worth it. Dog, canoe, sunrise,.... Im good with what comes next.
👍
Like that you don’t feel the need to jabber through the whole video. Have been working in the Haymock/Spider Lakes region for over 20 years but never thought of doing videos. Should have a long time ago. Nicely done.
Thanks, I don't like to talk to a camera, what do you do for work in that area?
I used to fly in to Spider as a kid. McPhee's camp!
Amazing View 👌
👌
Another good one, I’m new to Maine but have canoed here a lot. I spent some time exploring the North Maine Woods last fall, nice but I’m not a fan of those group campsites, need to explore more. Poland Pond was nice.
There are plenty of places off the beaten path that don't see many visitors, keep exploring.
Beautiful scenery. Love the quietness of this video (no yakking into the camera), just man and dog. Do you have to worry about ticks (on either of you) walking through those tall weeds?
I just recently learned Gracey was attacked by a bear?? I'm so sorry she had to endure that. I've been following pretty regularly and missed it some how. Usually, my encounters with bears ends up with them running for cover, not attacking. So sorry she was hurt. She is so sweet and gentle! We love her!
I'm a big fan of the MTN OPS Sleepy Chai
Great video
Thanks
Very Nice vlog. Thanks my new friend. Stay connected. Full support. Greetings from Vietnam
it's not a vlog
Gracie loves moose watching
Oh and only a little chub huh, been there lol
It was a lot of work for that little fish, I shoulda got him mounted...lol
have you ever driven into Little East Lake? The road that goes down in from the south side has beaver slides across the road and lots of bear scat.
I do not know where that is
Not many people visit this pond
glo sticks attract the bair witch.
oh
Could you please tell me what type/brand screen tent you use around your hammock. Thank you and enjoy your videos. ATB
www.cavecreekhammock.com/ let rick know i told you about it
@@TheMaineWoods thanks for a quick response. God bless
I haven’t been camping the Allagash since I was 10. Where is that ranger station you checked in at? I have a map of the waterway and Allagash and can’t locate a ranger station. How are the bugs in early July up there?
public canoes or do you keep one there?
I don't have one there personally, the ones that are there are privately owned but are not locked so the implication is that they can be borrowed, this is a general principle, lots of these little backwoods ponds of canoes stashed, often they are locked to trees.
@@TheMaineWoods got ya ....
Are there bears there
Yes it’s northern maine...
Is this little fall brook lame
Are those canoes for rent?
Many remote ponds in Maine like this one have canoes stashed on the shores.
@@TheMaineWoods thanks. I’m planning a trip in the next couple of weeks so I guess I don’t have to bring my kayak. Glad to know.
Where abouts is Hafey Pond?
Allagash
@@TheMaineWoods wow that is up in the middle of nowhere. Born and raised here in Maine and never been up to the Allagash. Gonna have to get up there one of these days
