Yes sir you I’m in agreement with 100%. Have fun with it. That’s the prescription for the day. This song has a deep meaning for me which I won’t go into but this is one I’ve got to, I will, learn. It’s definitely a powerful piece that I’m sure has been used many many times since it came out, as a life preserver kinda a life vest so to speak to throw out from the boat to someone that’s drowning. As we used to say, you get my drift. I’m very glad I happened across your platform. Yes I’m subscribed with a thumb up.

Great lesson, Scott. I always loved the little arpeggiated rhythm part Steve plays underneath, it’s kinda buried in the mix way underneath Allen’s part. With that great chimey hammer on. Great stuff

LISTEN FROM 4:30 - 5:00 AT 1.5 SPEED. Crazy, I thought I was listening to Dire Straights. Years and years ago I remember hearing an interview with Mark Knopfler talking about how southern picking is so clean and that's what he always aspired to be like. CRAZY!!! Thanks for another great video Scott. The genius is in the little details and it's fantastic that you show us them.

Scott, I think it's amazing that you're willing to SHOW us all how you play these songs...I've been a Skynyrd fan - specifically an Alan Collins, Steve Gaines, Gary Rossington, Ed King fan - since the first time I heard a Skynyrd song, and ALWAYS wanted to spend the time learning not only the chords and solos, but these amazing TONES...I've found that using an EQ pedal with the mids scooped really gets to some of those Steve Gaines Strat tones...would you agree? Do you use any EQ for these songs? I saw you and the band at the City Winery in Nashville a few years ago, and was thoroughly impressed with your playing...and the bands' renditions of these classic songs...thanks again!

I need to open my eyes lol. I knew you played in the Artimus Pyle Band (y'all are great). Yup I'm a player of 65 years (lots of Skynyrd) and I just finished my last guitar build (not for sale). I still like to listen to other people play as well and learn about new gear. I'm glad that you give people the opportunity to learn to play. You are a good man.

Sir to you and any other RUclipsrs following this video: If you are going to teach, take the time to write out a lesson plan first. With a plan you can cut to the chase, and cover all your bases. Digressing and waffling for the first two minutes adds nothing to your lesson. Prepare. this is not negative, this is helpful constructive criticism that will make your videos even more engaging.

    • @seraines
