Scott that badass brother!
Great lesson. The advice on dynamics and letting the bass play the low notes,,,,, stellar!
You're a very good Teacher, Thank you ☺️
Thank you for watching! 🙏🏼
Yes sir you I’m in agreement with 100%. Have fun with it. That’s the prescription for the day. This song has a deep meaning for me which I won’t go into but this is one I’ve got to, I will, learn. It’s definitely a powerful piece that I’m sure has been used many many times since it came out, as a life preserver kinda a life vest so to speak to throw out from the boat to someone that’s drowning. As we used to say, you get my drift. I’m very glad I happened across your platform. Yes I’m subscribed with a thumb up.
Big THANK YOU Scott. Will continue working on keeping these great songs being performed live.
Thanks Scott! I so appreciate your help!
Thank you Scott for giving us all something to look forward to.I love it
Any Skynyrd song has to be fun to play, thanks for the intel.
Scott, thanks for this video here, it is always a Pleasure to watch you play and explain things, My Best, Cousin Figel
Thank you for sharing your knowledge on one of the best bands ever! Your instructions are the most accurate I've come across. Playing them is another story!
That song has a great message also, thanks man.
Thank you so much Scott 👍
Thank you for sharing this. Great song. Amazing guitar dynamics.
Thanks Scott for the lesson been wanting get that tune down for while for my band.
I think you did and do a fine job explaining how to play these songs. Ant that is constructive appreciation!
Great lesson, Scott. I always loved the little arpeggiated rhythm part Steve plays underneath, it’s kinda buried in the mix way underneath Allen’s part. With that great chimey hammer on. Great stuff
awesome as usual
Awesome good sir!!
Thanks 👍🔥good job 💯
you are a Beast! Nice!
Again Steve, like I previously said, Greatest (Real Skynyrd) song they ever written. Great Job as always Steve. 5 thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍
I think it was great myself. I was able to pick it up and play with you. People teach in different ways.
very insightful and helpful lol
no stress - everyone has thier own style and own influences.
LISTEN FROM 4:30 - 5:00 AT 1.5 SPEED. Crazy, I thought I was listening to Dire Straights. Years and years ago I remember hearing an interview with Mark Knopfler talking about how southern picking is so clean and that's what he always aspired to be like. CRAZY!!! Thanks for another great video Scott. The genius is in the little details and it's fantastic that you show us them.
Thank you for watching! 🙏🏼
Can you do a series of a few videos breaking down the entire song? No one else has done it. I'll name my next child after you if you do 😂😂
Great sound Scott, and thanks for the super detsils.I now play this song with a cleaner tone.
So thankful for all you do Scott. Great meeting and talking a bit with you last year at Rock Ribs and Ridges in Ny - so glad you also are no longer doing the lessons with the “dot-free” neck guitar 😂. Happy Thanksgiving 🎶🎶🎶
😂 Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you sir !
Thank you for watching!
Thanks Brother 🤠
Thank you! 🙏🏼
I asked for this video from instagram! Thank you Mr. Raines from Last Rebels (Italian Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute)
Scott, I think it's amazing that you're willing to SHOW us all how you play these songs...I've been a Skynyrd fan - specifically an Alan Collins, Steve Gaines, Gary Rossington, Ed King fan - since the first time I heard a Skynyrd song, and ALWAYS wanted to spend the time learning not only the chords and solos, but these amazing TONES...I've found that using an EQ pedal with the mids scooped really gets to some of those Steve Gaines Strat tones...would you agree? Do you use any EQ for these songs? I saw you and the band at the City Winery in Nashville a few years ago, and was thoroughly impressed with your playing...and the bands' renditions of these classic songs...thanks again!
Thank you! I may eq to accommodate each rig/song in my Kemper, but usually a lot.
!!!!!!
I’m a visual and auditory learner so not interested in a “lesson plan”. Great job sharing the passion and particulars of your feeling/approach to songs!
all that time I put this song beyond my capability but it's not so hard.
Once again, a hell of a job. It helps an old garage band guy like me work through stuff. Got an off topic question. Whats the story with the little 57 chevy on Artimus' drum stand? Thanks
He likes it because it matches his 57 Chevy kit
@@seraines Ha! Rock & Roll!
Thanks for sharing the video. What brand guitar it that?
Hughes. Info in the description.
I need to open my eyes lol. I knew you played in the Artimus Pyle Band (y'all are great). Yup I'm a player of 65 years (lots of Skynyrd) and I just finished my last guitar build (not for sale). I still like to listen to other people play as well and learn about new gear. I'm glad that you give people the opportunity to learn to play. You are a good man.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Hey Bro, why don't you give us guitar & Amp setup too. Most of us have a version of helix or like me I have a HX Stomp XL that I use as my main rig. You know basic stuff like amp, cab, and effects chain when you use them. Thanks...
I’ve been a Kemper guy for several years.
Sir to you and any other RUclipsrs following this video: If you are going to teach, take the time to write out a lesson plan first. With a plan you can cut to the chase, and cover all your bases. Digressing and waffling for the first two minutes adds nothing to your lesson. Prepare. this is not negative, this is helpful constructive criticism that will make your videos even more engaging.
I could definitely do a better job at that. I’m a beginner at being a teacher. I appreciate your feedback! 🙏🏼
@@serainesI like the teaching style here. Keep doing what inspires you! Least you may burn out! Pastors, especially pastors Burn out!
Hey there are plenty of other teachers you can follow. At least he doesn't outline and a or e chord like some seem to think is required. 😂
@@seraines nah your doing great , you can fast forward if they like..great job
Shut up. This guy does a great job...better yet, lets see you do it.
God. Start the playing and stop all the excruciating yapping
