    Hare Krishna. I consider myself fortunate to have made my small commitment to Shri Nityanand Prabhu's prophecy of this magnificent temple. I could visit the temple in last Kartik yatra and could see the construction so far. I have been hearing about this temple for the last 20 years now. I am having a small doubt. The construction material used is concrete which has a limited life span not exceeding 100 years. Then how is it that the temple is being built with concrete and can last for 1000 years? If a competitive authority from temple construction team could clear my doubt, I would be eternally grateful.

      Hare Krishna Harsh,
      I apologize. I didn't see your message till just now. I'm not the expert to speak to but all has been taken into consideration and this mix of concrete has been formulated specially to last. It is called GRC or glass reinforced concrete. Here's an explanation of the superior durability and sustainability of GRC from this website:
      www.concretenetwork.com/glass-fiber-reinforced-concrete/benefits.html
      Durability: According to ACI 544.1R-96, State of the Art Report on Fiber Reinforced Concrete, "The strength of fully-aged GFRC composites will decrease to about 40 percent of the initial strength prior to aging." Michael Driver, division manager with Nippon Electric Glass, a major manufacturer of AR glass fibers, disagrees. "There's never a durability issue. Water can't get in-there are no cracks-and that's a durable material. GFRC will outlast precast concrete, cast stone, even some natural stone." Durability has been increased through the use of low alkaline cements and pozzolans.
      Sustainable: Because it uses less cement than equivalent concrete and also often uses significant quantities of recycled materials (as a pozzolan), GFRC qualifies as sustainable.

    What is the point of making the garden at ground level because when the river comes, it will wipe it away

    • @TOVPinfoTube
      @TOVPinfoTube  5 лет назад

      Unfortunately, gardens can only go in the ground. All that is being taken into consideration.

      @@TOVPinfoTube Yea. but is an embankment being made so that the garden is at a upper level from the river .

      @@sadenb No, the river will cover the gardens just like they cover everything else in Mayapur, and after the Ganga recedes the gardens are started again. That's how things work here.

    The roof design seems copied from the Pantheon. Why couldn't they get some inspiration from any of the temples in India ? It looks like an European building.

    • @TOVPinfoTube
      @TOVPinfoTube  5 лет назад

      @TRUTH / REALITY / FREEDOM Hare Krishna Truth/Reality/Freedom. I'll be replying to your other comments too. The reason for this Western design is specifically because Srila Prabhupada wanted it to be modeled after the Capitol bldg. in Wash., D.C.. He wanted to see the best of East and West brought together, while maintaining the integrity of Vedic philosophy and teachings.

    • @sadenb
      @sadenb 5 лет назад

      @@TOVPinfoTube Are the principle of Vastu Shastra being followed while constructing the sacred space ? Yes, capitol Hill was fine but it seems quite similar. Hopefully in future temples, ISKCON follows the more local architecture of that place.
