I love all the Pure Michigan commercials. Tim Allen's voice is so soothing, and at least for me, reminds me of the joyous days of camping in Grand Haven and Pentwater, and skiing in upper Michigan. I hope he keeps making more of these.
Yes Michigan is the greatest state ever. I grew up in Lansing and thought that Up North was Grayling and Traverse City never been any further, then I met my husband while my parents were at camp Grayling for there Military drill and he showed me a whole other part of Michigan (the Upper Peninsula) Which is by far (to me) the most unbelievable part of the state, there water falls, fall colors, Porcupine Mtns., mine tours, and talk about a winter wonderland it takes your breath away. So to me there is no place like Michigan.
The pride that booms from Tim is truly remarkable. He loves Michigan. He loves the people of Michigan. The commercials certainly capture and captivate the audience, but with Tim at the helm, its a tremendous win-win. I love seeing, or loved, seeing Tim wear his University of Michigan attire in ABC's "Last Man Standing," I always got a kick out of that, as he never forgot where he came from.
I love the Pure Michigan campaign! Tim has an amazing voice, and he really brought this to life. I love the movies he's done, but the positive attention he has brought to the mitten state makes me an even bigger fan! Thanks for all the hard work and dedication that everyone has put into making this a success! 👍🏻
As a birmingham born Michigander, LOVE these ads ! They are still amazing... everytime I see them I think of my beloved parents who grew up in MI and went to MSU and U of M and they also passed away there...Thank you Tim Allen! The best kept secret is MICHIGAN! Everyone go! you tug at my heart strings every time! The ads are beautifully done!
I could be having the shittiest day of my life, once I see those Pure Michigan commercials with Tim Allen’s awesome soothing voice. I have the biggest smile on my face.
I am So Very Happy I was Born in Michigan, especially The Upper Peninsula,Marquette. when the " Pure Michigan" commercials began,i was THRILLED and wood turn the volume up and cry tears of joy and Homesickness 🌎🎼🙆
SO very, very true that Grand Haven is on par with the best coastal cities in the country...and the fresh water aspect makes it perfect. I mean, boogie boarding on Lake Michigan...you can't beat that! No terrible salt water to swallow. Just pure beauty and fun. Sleeping Bear Dunes is absolutely breathtakingly AWESOME! Now, I've just got to make it to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
+Faith Williams I could not agree with you more!! Being a NC native, I LOVE Michigan and I LOVE each and every one of the Michigan, org campaign!!! My hat's off to you, Tim Allen!! Thank you for eing the voice of Michigan!!!
My husband and I lived in Michigan for twenty years. We would explore the U.P. go camping and hiking. It was wonderful. Some of my best memories. We are now in Florida...but my spirit will forever be in Michigan.
I truly enjoyed this interview. The Pure Michigan ads have been my favorites for years. I was happy when I heard Tim Allen voice them. He is right, the writing, the production, all of it is pure magic. My favorite part is when Tim mentions Ron Rose Productions as part of the history of these amazing ads. Ron did the voice over on the ads for many years. His studio and the studio his son know runs are incredible. Some of the best audio I have heard. BTW Ron is a helluva great guy. Always took time and great kindness to those of us who admired him and wanted to do work like him.
When I first came to this state (I'm a transplant), the Pure Michigan campaign was just starting up. At that time, I found it disconcerting that it seemed very few people here had any state pride, apart from football. But I have noticed a BIG difference over the past 10 years! It is true-- the people are lovely here. It makes me glad to be part of it all. I love these commercials and couldn't get over the wonderful VO. I had to google it to find out how who it was. But a pleasant surprise! Thank you for these ads. They're for us Michiganders even as much or more so than visitors.
I want to say that growing up and now living in Central Ohio, Michigan still seems so distant. The state itself never appealed to me and I had no desire to visit the state. Now I am older I have visited the U.P. and I have driven down 75 back to Ohio. This is a very pleasant and serene feeling place. Tim nailed it when he stated the creative in this campaign has made it what it is. I did not realize it was Tim's voice on these commercial and nor did it really matter. I have been driven to revisit this state and attempt to explore more across the state. I enjoy these commercials and the feeling I get when they come on. Great job on this campaign, as it has turned a standard commercial into an enjoyable break from the monotony of life and media and takes the viewer or listener to another place. More should be done this way. I will visit Michigan and I hope to feel what the commercials bring me while I walk the streets of the towns, climbs steps of light houses, drive the rural routes and sit on the picturess shores.
Kevin OConnor What you said in the beginning, that what's we think of OH lol. We don't exactly have a burning desire to visit. I'm from MI and I drove thru OH on the way to DC and I saw a highway sign that said "Attractions" and had nothing under it. Figured that pretty much summed up the entire state of Ohio. No offense
I was born and raised in Michigan and had to move to Ohio last fall for work. It has been hard. Sometimes I feel like Eve and that I was excommunicated from paradise. Now that it's summer, and most of my coworkers are traveling to Michigan for their vacations, I can't say I'm surprised. Luckily I have been able to take some vacation time back home too. Whenever I travel north on I-75 and finally see that "Welcome to Pure Michigan" sign, my heart soars.
It’s nice you discovered what you were missing ... truly, better late than never!!! Having lived all of my 63 years in Michigan, and within 20 minutes of a Great Lake, I cant imagine ever being landlocked in the way many of the states are. The West Michigan beach towns are wonderful ... close enough to city life, yet surrounded by spectacular vistas, fresh water, and a kayaker’s piece of heaven
Tim Allen is the voice of Michigan. I hope that he and Michigan can work together for another 10 years. The visuals and the music make each commercial a masterpiece.
I live in sw ohio and vacation almost every year in glen arbor. The most beautiful place in America is always on our minds!! When the commercials come on, we get quiet and turn up the radio, or tv, and listen intently on what Tim is saying. Thank you Tim for reminding us of the great times we've had in your home state. Thank you!!
The Pure Michigan commercial makes me home sick for Traverse City, MI. At times during Pure Michigan commercials shows Traverse City area. Thank You Mr Allen
It seems like 80% of houses on Peninsula Drive are nice A frames lol. But with all the snow and open fields, A Frames are probably the best design for the land ;)
l love the music. It relaxes me. l sit back with closed eyes and just float away with the music and Tim Allens voice. I just found out it was his voice on theses cermercials. OK Tim leave Ohio alone. I heard you say "Now, bring on Ohio" My home state :-)
What a great voice to pure Michigan. If our governor had any idea how much this helped our state, she wouldn’t have stopped funding the pure Michigan campaign
Fun fact. The music is actually from the 1999 movie "The Cider House Rules," well received but with a heavy plot. The absolutely captivating music for me is what makes these commercials stand out.
battle creek here! as far as im concerned no one would be better as the voice of "pure michigan" than tim allen! i can literally feel my blood pressure go down as i listen to his pure michigan commercials! awesome job mr allen!
I just read a book called "The Cottage Chronicles" by Christian J. Painterooski. Got it off Amazon when the cover caught my eye of "Pure Michigan". Hilarious and entertaining book, I thought of Tim Allen. God Bless Michigan!!!
Michigan is the best, I’m born and raised. I’ll never move out of this state. Mackinac Island is my favorite spot, I worked there for 3 years and worked at the Grand Hotel for 2
The Pure Michigan ads really helped changed the "branding" of Michigan for the better. I've heard so many negative remarks about the state, Detroit, and the people so I've made it a new goal on my channel to produce more Michigan and "Michigander" content. To show the parts of Michigan that I know to be funny, interesting, beautiful, and that I FEEL represent this wonderful state. Side note: Frankfort, MI is the best!
I love camping all around our beautiful state. The dunes were our favorite place. Bought a razor last August 1 andmade it street legal per state requirements only to find out without any warning that u can't do this anymore. What kind of state does this! August 22 we went in and they tell us sorry not today!! So upset since we haven't a way to get this to the dunes from our campsite. Toy hauler rv to transport to sit there.
host says "we want people to travel all over the world," and Tim says "no we don't,". That's pure Michigan. Many of us grew up vacationing in our own state, some of us still do.
135 inches of snow so far this season with temps in the teens right now in Marquette county. Times like this I wish I had been born in Southern California. On second thought,, naw!
International known Chef, Mario Batali, believes in Michigan; his vacation home is located near the Lake In Traverse, County. He's a former resident of Seattle, around the Pacific Coastal area, but he says, he likes the fresh water recreation much better.
Timothy M I actually saw him just this morning up in northport haha, didn't want to say hi or get a picture because I feel like that's a place where he can kind of get away and not be bothered. Michigans a great place
Well north port is absolutely awesome, but can be a little isolated sometimes. There are plenty of amazing communities on the leelanau peninsula for families like buttons bay, leland, glen arbor etc.
Interesting - Tim's brother lives in my town of Muskegon - I wish Tim had promoted it more, because it is better than South Haven or Grand Haven, but does need some help. He should have sailed the coast with me 🙂though somehow I doubt my 30 footer would have suited him.
Because of this and that, I moved to Oklahoma. Lots of good people, but I have to go home. They have no real lakes here. They are man made with grates under them. The heat index had been 108+. You can't go outside. I can survive it, but I'm so homesick.
you can take the girl out of Michigan but you cant take the Michigan out of the girl. Homesick in Oklahoman. well the heat index in 110 which doesnt help. thank you Tim Allen
Hey Tim Allen, If you “LOVE Michigan” that much, why don’t you put your influence to good use to help fix the water crisis in Flint?? That would be a great place to start!! Seriously, I challenge you...now THAT would be a legacy!! If I had your stature and $$ I darn well would do something, and I live in Wisconsin, I would gladly help you northerner’s out! I’m “racking my brain” out now trying to figure out what to do?!?! Help Your people out Tim!! Get some REAL WORK DONE‼️ Don’t let these “well-written ads”-(your words) be your “favorite thing you’ve done!” Wtheck?!?! Be the difference for the home state you claim to “LOVE SO MUCH!” C’mon Tim Allen, Please?!?! It’s kind of sickening now, to be honest Tim! Did you check out the documentary “Flint town??!!?!” Because, since, well... Ya know Tim Allen, since you just “love Michigan SOOOO MUCH‼️” Or is that just for the “pretty spots?!?!” Could you “Prove it!!” Sadly, until then, toy story will never be the same for me again...probably a few other’s too😞. I hope you will truly show how much you “love Michigan♥️” & “Make A Difference” 🌟👍🏽💫
SUZY HOMEACRE Sorry, but that's not a "one-man job". First, the residents of Flint would have to stop voting for the Democrats that have controlled that city for years.
I wish Detroit would go back to being the car capital of the world. The auto industry made Detroit great and then destroyed it by leaving. Though Detroit is a big part of Michigan It's also a small part. It's not the only city worth visiting.
How can we get Tim (the Tool Man) Allen to take a look at our USA Made cantilever POST-RACK brackets by SCOTT-SYSTEMS, a Veteran Owned Company. Would love for him to do a quick shout out for our product! And if he has a pole barn - contact us !!!
Tim Allen, Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, Seger, to name a few. True Ambassadors to this state. Weather you're Maize and Blue, or Green and White, .... Proud to call Michigan home. 👍👍
Stop electing dictators and more people might actually visit, maybe even stay. Alot of people and places I miss but moving away was the best choice I've ever made.
Friendly people ? In Michigan ? I have been 3 years here. I would not categorize the people of Michigan (that I met) as friendly as I am used to in the South East US
Just curious, but do you happen to be anywhere near East Lansing? If so, that's the problem. Every state has its black hole, and East Lansing is where it exists in Michigan. Go anywhere else in the state, and you will find peace and beauty.
Thanks for never forgetting where you came from. From a fellow Michigander.

I love all the Pure Michigan commercials. Tim Allen's voice is so soothing, and at least for me, reminds me of the joyous days of camping in Grand Haven and Pentwater, and skiing in upper Michigan. I hope he keeps making more of these.
Pure Michigan commercial make me tear up! I love Michigan && Tim Allens voice!
Same! I didn't even realize it was his voice.
Clearly I'm too young! I never knew it was Tim Allen doing the voiceovers! The radio ads are my favorite. So well done.
Thank you Tim Allen, your voice is unmistakable, and your message is even more powerful, I am proud to be a Michigander!!
Same!

What a wonderful Michigan recap and highlight. 😁
Kathy you’re incredible
I'm from Illinois and I totally agree with you. I love Michigan and plan on moving up there in a few years.

We love the Fall colors , Campfires , local beer. hot cider, Then Deer season, snowmobiling ice fishing. PURE MICHIGAN!!!!
YOU NAILED IT!!!
Talking fast and mispronouncing words to talk 150 words a minute
I never tire of the Pure Michigan ads staring Tim Allen! They're always the best! ❤
I love the Pure Michigan campaign! Tim has an amazing voice, and he really brought this to life. I love the movies he's done, but the positive attention he has brought to the mitten state makes me an even bigger fan! Thanks for all the hard work and dedication that everyone has put into making this a success! 👍🏻
Agreed!
Just wanted to say thank you (TIM ALLEN) for sharing your thoughts on our great state of MICHIGAN, Keep up the good work
Love Tim Allen. We are proud of him and what he stands for. Thanks Tim
I never realized it was his voice.Glad they used someone from Michigan.
He's not from Michigan originally as he was born in Minnesota. He's lived in Detroit, Kalamazoo and has a home up north.
Thanks for the info
Ronald Olson, Tim Allen was born in Denver, Colorado.
You know what would make Pure Michigan better? MORE POWER! Argh Argh Argh Argh Argh!
I didn't realize either!

My husband and I lived in Michigan for twenty years. We would explore the U.P. go camping and hiking. It was wonderful. Some of my best memories. We are now in Florida...but my spirit will forever be in Michigan.
It's like this no matter what we believe or which way we vote we can all agree on thing we are proud Michiganders and we love this state!
Moving to Kingsley would be amazing to meet the man that has given me sooo many smiles. BLESSINGS. Lived in the Mitten all my life ❤
If I ever visit Michigan it will be because of Tim Allen and these commercials. They are very well done.

Snowmobiling in Michigan is hard to top.

Jon G. Agreed. If I’m driving more than 10-12hrs to go snowmobiling, I’m going out West.
A great ad campaign and also the parodies of Pure Michigan are a laugh.
Born in Owosso, grew up in Chesaning. Thank you, Tim!!
The Pure Michigan commercial makes me home sick for Traverse City, MI. At times during Pure Michigan commercials shows Traverse City area. Thank You Mr Allen
Paul Peterson He has a vacation house on the the peninsula too :) Traverse City misses you!
April Sisco We did have a very nice on. Only “ A “ frame on Peninsula Drive. We sold it in 1999.

Amen 😇👍

When I was younger we use to visit Michigan ever other summer. I miss it

Tim is not wrong abt Michigan’s coastal cities…seriously seriously seriously underrated spots
host says "we want people to travel all over the world," and Tim says "no we don't,". That's pure Michigan. Many of us grew up vacationing in our own state, some of us still do.
Seriously thinking about moving to Michigan.
His Brother was my english teacher in highschool. Mr. Marshall from Reeths Puffer!

David Jones planning on moving their to Michigan any advice on great family place?
Well north port is absolutely awesome, but can be a little isolated sometimes. There are plenty of amazing communities on the leelanau peninsula for families like buttons bay, leland, glen arbor etc.
I love Tim. Michigan has gotten such a bad rap. I really want that image to change.
I've noticed the same thing. That's why I started focusing on Michigan on my RUclips channel. I want the brand to change!
Interesting - Tim's brother lives in my town of Muskegon - I wish Tim had promoted it more, because it is better than South Haven or Grand Haven, but does need some help. He should have sailed the coast with me 🙂though somehow I doubt my 30 footer would have suited him.
Grand rapids Michigan is wonderful
I'm from there and I'm excited to be moving back it's such a beautiful place.
Mackinaw is like the best
Please do make Michigan pure again!
Michigan is the best state.
Michigan would be better if the roads didn't have so many potholes
anyone know how to hire Tim Allen to do voiceovers.
Michigan is the one and only state where you can go from beach town to beach town and no other state has fresh water great lakes like us
did he mention the nice paycheques?
WAIT THATS TIM ALLEN?
Michigan's best kept secret..Da U.P.
3:00 Leland Michigan.
Tim’s aged well... umm well yeah. We’ll go with that.
Because of this and that, I moved to Oklahoma. Lots of good people, but I have to go home. They have no real lakes here. They are man made with grates under them. The heat index had been 108+. You can't go outside. I can survive it, but I'm so homesick.
"Bring the People from Ohio in" LMAO
It's the voice of Buzz Lightyear.
no, He's from Home Improvement
you can take the girl out of Michigan but you cant take the Michigan out of the girl. Homesick in Oklahoman. well the heat index in 110 which doesnt help. thank you Tim Allen
does he even still live in michigan? Isn‘t he a hollywood guy?
The 37 dislikes are from Detroit
Hey Tim Allen,
If you “LOVE Michigan” that much, why don’t you put your influence to good use to help fix the water crisis in Flint??
Ya know Tim Allen, since you just “love Michigan SOOOO MUCH‼️”
Or is that just for the “pretty spots?!?!” Could you “Prove it!!”
Sadly, until then, toy story will never be the same for me again...probably a few other’s too😞.
I hope you will truly show how much you “love Michigan♥️” &
“Make A Difference” 🌟👍🏽💫
SUZY HOMEACRE
Sorry, but that's not a "one-man job". First, the residents of Flint would have to stop voting for the Democrats that have controlled that city for years.
I grew up in Detroit not so much.
Bring him back! The new ads are dull and uninspiring.
If Michigan would clean up Detroit, I think more people would go to Michigan. That's what's holding some people back.
chrisgast Detroit is slowly improving. Downtown is much better than it was say, 5 years ago or so.
Detroit is becoming a world city again thanks to the leadership of Mayor Mike Dugan.
I wish Detroit would go back to being the car capital of the world. The auto industry made Detroit great and then destroyed it by leaving. Though Detroit is a big part of Michigan It's also a small part. It's not the only city worth visiting.
chris gast It's more than happening! Billions private $ in Detroit downtown etc. Where ya been?
People think Michigan, and they’re conditioned to think of Detroit. There’s so much more!
