We have so many problems today in the USA. But it fills me with hope that most of us still agree with Dr. King’s message. We must carry on his legacy forever.
The country needed a change, the Civil Rights Movement was the start, segregation was a sad mistake. We are all equal in the eyes of God, because we are children of God.
All of these people marching and occupying the nation's capital. Their presence alone would be enough to elicit change. But Kings powerful speech and the musicians who performed before him, was one of the most glorious moments in our nation's history.
All great orators know how to improvise, but MLK was especially great at it because he was a pastor for many years. His style of speech grabbed your attention immediately and transcended racial boundaries in America. This was probably because he sounded a lot like the pastors that Americans were already hearing in church every week in the 50s and 60s.
My coworker Benny age 20 and I age 19 walked off of our job to join the March. Our other coworker William sumpter who was a very miles manner person ,iam not sure if he was there.
King didn't "lead" the movement. The original plan only gave him 4 minutes to speak, and he was asked to speak in the last. However, this very kind man eventually became the leader with his amazing speech and spirit
Can anyone reply to this comment with a summary of the vid. I have to write one for homework and I'm having trouble following along. Tbh i wish this vid had captions
