I recently picked up an Amiga 500 Mini as I missed out on ever experiencing the Amiga during childhood. Your channel has been a joy to discover as I explore the old and new Amiga titles I’ve been missing out on. Many thanks indeed!

Great review. Looks like a nice little game. Never heard of it, kind of reminds me of Globdule with the movement and sticking on walls.

Thanks, and yeah there are some hints of that game, I never played it much but I can see it now!

I love the aesthetic & it sounds great too, plus I’m always happy to see new(ish) content for the old Amiga but I’m not a fan of timed games. I get that you don't actually have to speed run it but still, it puts me off.
There’s nothing wrong with short form reviews, it’s good content, thanks.

thankfully they don't really push the timed element, I think it was more trying to add a reason to come back (bit like how Metroid has a completion rate and time).
you can just take your time with it and fail as much as you need to. I know it took a huge number of attempts to get past some of the bosses!

The Amiga not getting many Metroidvania's is an odd thing when you think about it, given the style of many platformers on the systems with big levels with plenty to collect. It feels like it would have suited what developers liked to show off with the system in terms of 2D games.
0:19 - Loving the box art for the game. It's presentation feels like it would have released back in the Amiga days.
3:10 - I did wonder how a power up would work. It seems it's a stat change here rather than a new ability, keeping the simplicity so far.
4:21 - I really was not expecting a boss fight, despite it's genre. How many ways could they make a creative boss fight whilst limited to a character who can't directly interact?
7:22 - The idea of the ghosts vanishing from going off-screen is rather funny.

Yeah, I would have thought it would have been an idea genre for the Amiga.
there are a few Metroid'ish games like Harliquin and Exile. But few that really ran with that style.

This game is very well designed, aesthetically, and the music gives me a wave of nostalgia, but the gameplay style would probably frustrate me very quickly, not being able to attack enemies

Its a lovely design and not being able to attack the enemies was an interesting choice.
it does make it much harder.

Well it got the Turrican games, so I'd still call it a win.

The Turrican games are great, they are more huge levels then Metroidvania's.
      but great games.
