To all those youtubers out there posting vids on repairing your beat ep’s..... here’s how it should be done. Firstly, get shopping. You need a 3.5mm pcb mount stereo socket (around £1.70 on eBay) and then a replacement cable/remote assembly (again ebay - cost around £5) This will have a 4 pole 3.5mm plug on one end and the a 3 pole 3.5mm plug on the end closest to the remote. Use a glue gun to glue the socket inside the headphone using the existing hole the cable went through then wire this to the existing terminals on the headphone driver taking note of what went where. Now you have the socket in simply re-assemble. The advantage of this repair is you still have a mic and remote for track skip, pause etc and a mic to make hands free calls. I may just post a vid when I come to repair mine so watch this space.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, let's say you have two broken Beats headphones and you have two right speakers that are working can you make an actual working headset with two right speakers I mean obviously pull out the speaker itself and put it in the left ear, I know there's probably going to be two wires you can solder together to the other speaker but when going to the cord how do you do that? Can it be done and would the speakers work just as good? Or does the left speaker have some kind of amp or a booster which actually supports the other speaker?
It's kinda stupid they don't make the cable removable. There are many headphones under 100$ that have removable cables but off course the beats ep is not one of them
My new jack cable had only 3 wires. I just tried them out bij pressing the copper to the connection points. I agree it does not bcome clear in the movie but I think i connected the first and th two on the right. I recal having used a jumper as well... just try it out! it is very low voltage, you can not damage your head Phone by short cutting the connections

I used a cable withouten the volume option. Cable had therfor 3 wires (screen = comon). I kust tried all options and had to use a extra piece to make a jumper.
Does anyone else ever just wear these slightly weird and the connection of the metal and plastic snaps on the adjustment parts?(with the speaker intact) Because I’ve done that......and have heavy guilt
Hi, I just plugged my jack in my mobile and tryed the cables one by one. It depends on the cable you bocht what the colors codes are. usually the screen is the comon, the other two are left and right.
It's fitting I used the audio from this video to test the Beats EP I just fixed. I was able to re-use the stress relief grommet piece. Inside there is a metal clip that has been crimped to hold the wire in. I was able to dig that out, and the sleeve of the old wire. After feeding the new wire through I was able to build up a few pieces of heat shrink tubing on the inside to lock the new wire in.

Yes I am sure that is possible., but be aware of the length.. the longer te female cable the higer risk to damage that cable as well.
Only one side of my beats ep headphone work .that's crazy cuz I was just listening to something and it just went out

That is exacly what my son did when he broke his. Therefor I oredered a 3m jack cable wich was more robust. now even my son can't break it any more

i broke the jack into two. how do i repair that?
I bougt a new wire, both ends a jack, and cut off one end. I inserted the new wire... still working fine
