Went to the one in Bell Gardens - was such a nostalgia trip, it looks just like the old ones and the same orange-color on the chicken. Took me back to the 80s.
We remember Pioneer Chicken. We're lucky and we can still get Orange Whip at some of our local Mom and Pop places out here. We used to have a Pioneer Chicken and a Jim Dandy Chicken right next to each other. Hope you're staying cool!
Man...back in the early 80s we always would go to Pioneer Chicken and get those chicken strips with the BBQ sauce...those things were awesome and nobody else had anything like them except for Farrels Icecream Parlors lol...Next time I am down in Pasadena at my girlfriends house may have to try and get to Pioneer...people bring up those chicken strips online occasionally and I think I need to go and see if they are the same as they used to be!
