In my experience as a hobby woodworker I settled on a 40T full kerf CMT combination blade so I don’t have to switch blades except for dado or grooving blades. I don’t own a glue line rip or 80 T cross cut and don’t intend to purchase one. My projects are made with walnut, cherry, white oak and Douglas Fir using a simple 1 3/4 hp contractor saw that has no trouble with a full kerf blade. It’s interesting to hear your analysis and you can get the flat top non-through cut with your box joint blade as well. All that being said, if you can afford the extra blade having a glue line rip blade on the rack doesn’t hurt. I have a Freud thin kerf combination blade handy but have never used it.

Thank you for the information. I would like to try this Tenryu blade, but I am not sure if it is compatible with the riving knife in my table saw. If at all possible, would you mind sharing the measure for plate thickness on this blade? I have not been able to find it online so far. On another note, have you tried some of the Tenryu blades that are made in China? In case you have, have you noticed a difference in quality/performance compared to the one in this video?

This is my only tenryu blade. I believe the kerf is 0.111".

@@MaverickMakersUSA I see. I wanted to try it in a Dewalt 7491rs type 10 table saw but, unfortunately, it is above the recommended thickness for its riving knife. Some other Tenryu´s blades are compatible, but I am hesitating due to them being made in China. Anyways, thank you for the response, I truly appreciate it.

Looks like others have your same qiestion. Here is a reddit post and fine woodworking forum. You would probably be fine with the tenryu, but there are other suggestions in the posts as well. www.reddit.com/r/woodworking/s/6z9qFER2Vw. www.finewoodworking.com/forum/best-table-saw-blade-min-kerf-0-094-max-body-0-079

@@MaverickMakersUSA looks like the kerf thickness (min. 0.094") of the "gold medal" blade is compatible, but not the plate thickness (max. 0.079"). Someone in the finewoodworking forum suggests making a custom thinner riving knife from aluminum, which doesn´t sound too bad. Thanks again for all the help.
