      You, my friend, haven't been keeping up with cartoons (Cartoon Networ/Adult Swim and Disney XD) cause they've been on fire since 2010!
      But yes, sitcoms (most shows people actually watch, for better or for worse) have tanked. We need another Seinfeld and/or Friends.

    The small, Caucasian boy in the ABC bumpers was in The Mighty Ducks (first one). He played Peter. He was also in an episode of Full House (season 6) titled "Silence Is Not Golden" playing Charles--a boy in Stephanie's class who was being abused by his father. 2:07 I've always wondered why in the commercial that a boy's choir
    had to do with The Simpsons of all things. Oh, and I just noticed that
    they were in a bowling alley in this commercial. Cuz' Homer likes Bowling??

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  8 лет назад +5

      The choir is *somewhat* reminiscent of the opening theme.
      I'm guessing they had the rights to use the characters from the show but nothing else...which explains why no Simpsons theme music or character voices.

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  8 лет назад +2

      +jason3fc The mini muffins were a brand new breakfast item and they also changed their french fry recipe that year too. The Simpsons was the most popular show on TV and it was an easy way to get people to try out these new products.

    • @AtlantaCommercials96
      @AtlantaCommercials96 8 лет назад +1

      Fair enough

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  8 лет назад +3

      +pannoni4 The Simpsons was way more popular culturally in 1990 than those two shows, and if it had aired on a major network and not Fox in its infancy I'm sure the ratings would have reflected that.
      The Simpsons appealed to kids, teenagers and adults in those first years. Bart Simpson became a counterculture icon overnight. Official and bootleg shirts with his image were commonplace. Nobody was clamoring for Cheers or Roseanne merchandise.

    Wait a minute they specifically call the Hawaiian Punch guy "that little dude in antlers". I always thought they were antlers, but more recently they changed it to a hat. Or was always a hat and the ad company was being cheeky by acknowledging the fact that his hat looked more like antlers which probably confused most people. When you really think about it though a straw hat is the only logical explanation for what's on his head.

    I posted on one of your videos about two years ago commenting about the state of television now and how much it has fallen. Now I know these videos and this channel are for those who have grown up in this era, and it pains me to know just how god awful modern television is.
    I've considered pulling the plug on all of it, because even the local news has turned into a medium where it is not telling news, but more so telling gossip and cheap lies to get the point across.
    I don't know if you have 80s/90s Nick at Nite promos on here, but I remember seeing them back in the day thinking how creative they were. I recently tuned into TV Land and Nick at Nite and was completely saddened by how terrible they are. Commercials pop in during the show, they are butchered, and both seem to showcase a lack of caring.

    • @KratostheThird
      @KratostheThird 8 лет назад +1

      Both History Channel and TLC were good, they offered good educational shows that were entertaining to a wide audience.
      Ever since the reality TV craze these channels feel the need to throw in random jackasses to overreact and scream at everything they do. History Channel is a disgrace.

      Cartoon Network and Disney XD have really good cartoons! Adult Swim has some amazing stuff too! But the current state of sitcoms are the worst, on every channel. W need a sitcom revival with another Seinfeld level show to bring back smart sitcoms!
      Also Nick just sucks right now with the exception of Harvey Beaks and The Loud House.

    • @KratostheThird
      @KratostheThird 8 лет назад

      Personally I'm more for the All in the Family type humor in sitcoms. Too many sitcoms are family friendly and airheaded like Hannah Montana.

    I initially found it interesting how it seemed like 90% of the toy commercials were for girls dolls and baby items...Then I realized they were connected to the New Kids cartoon, which obviously was targeting the young girl demographic.
    Still, there sure were a lot of ballerina and peeing babies being marketed to girls in 1990...Too bad we never had a crossover. We could have had dancing babies and peeing ballerinas.
