I am tripping because I remember each and every one these of commercials like it was yesterday. All came flooding back. Crazy to think the kids in these commercials are all adults with children of their own now.
Lego Islanders were the first Lego sets I ever got as a kid. For the next 15 years I was hooked on Lego...Why am I not playing with some right now actually?..
FrankGarrett316 Lovley Bones - you're not alone. Esp. when you compare it to what you see on TV today (I rarely watch TV).... One of the best things about the Internet is we can go back and re live the memories! ;)
I randomly smile when I think of the Super Van City commercial, of course people get curious and I explain. But there are some older people (like 19-20) that ask what are Micro Machines? Then I suddenly whither up and feel old, and I'm only 29.
You're right now that u think about it we really did move around a lot more than kids these days. I remember playing tag, freeze tag, hide and seek, mother may I, Simon says, red light green light, four square, jump rope, double Dutch jump rope, Chinese jump rope, and the two that many schools have now banned: red Rover and Dodge ball.
A lot of schools these days barely have recess anymore. I remember when we at least had free play 3x a day - then went home and had an extended one. Even thought we had TV's, we still managed to play outside.
I was thinking about it today, what is one thing you don't see these days? I'll give a couple hints, the distance between two streetlights (or whatever some other kids used), a football, and an amount of kids; even or odd (in that case, one kid was quarterback for both sides)? Easy, street football. Kids these days don't know how fun it was to sweat our asses off and be active.
The only way we can change that is to teach our kids the cool outside games when there little maybe the neighborhood kids will join in. It seems like cellphones have taken over play time. It's sad really.
I think we use to play outside more than inside because of all the cousins being close and there would be a lot of kids on the block. Plus, our parents bought us toys that needed space. Besides bikes and scooters, there were other things we did like all kids of tag, red light - green light, hide and go seek. Great times.
I know this is going to be WEIRD but I lost my first tooth that day. How do I know? I was seven years old, it was December, and Willy Wonka was on TV. My mind is exploding thinking about this.
I used to Topsy Tail my hair even though I didn't have the tool to do it with. It's not that difficult to do so the tool was kind of a ripoff. I had no idea there was a Free Willy cartoon. Mind: blown. I think 1994 was the last year I watched Saturday morning cartoons, and by then I was watching CBS exclusively. After '94 I was either sleeping in on Saturdays or watching Nickelodeon.
Saturday morning cartoons are back, thanks to Me TV (which is available over the air in many parts of the country)! As of 2021-22 we get half an hour of Popeye (the original 1930's-40's series), a half hour of the Pink Panther/The Inspector/Roland and Rattfink, a full hour of miscellaneous MGM cartoons (always with 2 or 3 Tom and Jerry episodes), and a full hour of Looney Tunes.
OMG, I have that exact lego set at 4:04 but one of my aunts/uncles decided to take a bite out of one of the plates. And most of the pieces are missing, my grandparents did have it since 1994.
I found one of my Christmas lists from this era and I could not for the life of me remember what the Pipe fight was, now I see. I miss being a kid and wanting everything, but I am glad knowing that I would of been bored if I did. But I still wish I had every Micro Machine there was as well as the play sets.
***** Well, you did see DARE stickers all over the place, but after I left the second middle school I went to, like way after high school graduation, the school started drug testing and kicked every kid who failed out. They were praised, but I thought that was wrong. In my opinion, schools have no business stick their noses in students personal lives. I don't condone drug use when one is a kid, but I can't judge, I used to get high back then.
HAH! I had that "Fantastic Flower Surprise". I was finding those plastic flower pieces all over my room for YEARS. The "color changing" properties of the flowers themselves had this lovely habit of getting mottled and gross looking after a while. Secret Keepin's pups--I ended up having to kill mine after I lost the key and couldn't recover the game boy games I'd hidden in its belly. I was at Walmart the other day, and I saw a bunch of Lion King plushies that look just like ones shown here.
Also, the last show around the 9:30 mark clearly says published 1991 in the credits. I can't tell what show the credits is to, but that ending theme sounds so familiar, it's embedded into my memory. I imdb'd the voice actors but can't find a show that they all did together except Sonic the Hedgehog show, but that definitely isn't the right ending theme.
You know... These toys were never as fun as they made them seem in these commercials. I remember being HIGHLY disappointed with that Stretch Arm Strong.
I had no idea about Free Willy either. I'd only watch ABC for Reboot then keep it on CBS for their far superior lineup with Garfield and then return to ABC for the old Looney Tunes cartoons.
I ate frosted flakes before my hockey game when I was a kid, just because the commercial made me feel like I'd get super powers. The only thing it did was make me throw up.
That Frosted Flakes commercial is about the only one I recognized here (I was a young adult in this decade and wasn't watching these types of shows), but that jingle is a classic.
KellyOKellyComedy - funny they went all out with weed in the 90's, but look at all of the prescription drug commercials we have today - with LOADS of side effects included with the commercial. lol
It worked in me...but I got hooked on prescription opiates and then Heroin, and Fentanyl. I'm 5 years clean now. But weed should've been the last drug that they were worried about. "Gateway drug" yeah right...prescription pills were the gateway drug.
7:08 God, this commerical have creeped me out as a kid and it still creeps me out today. I wish they showed this instead of what they been showing lately.
FREE WILLY had an animated series? By 1994, I was only watching ABC for Reboot and the Looney Tunes. Un-freaking-real how Saturday morning TV changed in 20 years. My birthday would be the following day (and my driver license test would be on Monday)!
90s, because I remember Bump in the Night. I was born in '88, so no way it was before '93 or '94. I never could keep up with plot to Bump in the Night. I liked the Sylvester and Tweety show back then tho.
Man, there were so many anti-drug commercials specifically for Marijuana. I'm not surprised that I smoked a ton of weed during my high school years. The irony of that is that I was in the "Say No To Drugs Club" in elementary school.
those "Fantastic" sets were always such a pain to put together, & not nearly as cool as they looked on TV I remember when that "topsy tail" hairstyles were so popular. this doll helped make that trend bigger those Secret Keepins Pups creep me out. They're eviscerated so you can store your trinkets inside them!
i had one of those sticker things and my mom made me give it to goodwill cause she kept washing my shirts with stickers on them and runing them -_- if i had that thing today it would be bad fuckin ass
Got to be honest, a lot of these toys look so cheap and crappy that it seems like this was just how they got rid of excess plastics without throwing them away. But, of course, when I was a kid getting these toys, I didn't give a shit.
right? as a kid, we were all like, I don't give a fuck! it looks cool, let's get it! as adults, we're now like, why did I get it back then again? good times!
@tcm112280 lol I never did drugs. same thing I did that in elementary school. lol I was just thinking that those clubs were pretty effective but then I saw your comment lol
The irony is that all those commercials are sponsored by "A Partnership for a Drug-Free America" an organization that was heavily funded by cash donations from most of the big tabacco and alcohol companies. Whose pulling those strings again?
7:08 Damn that commercial is such a bad trip the lighting , the creepy clown music and the overall vibe is so weird. they're just pulling your strings about P O T
Well, i think its suppose to scare the viewer to not doing the D. The music is creepy, The lighting is Swirly, The vibe is suppose to be Dont do drugs. Its suppose to make them say no. Although to me that music is really catchy!
These nostalgic commercials from my childhood are like a therapy for me.
I am tripping because I remember each and every one these of commercials like it was yesterday. All came flooding back. Crazy to think the kids in these commercials are all adults with children of their own now.
Awwww my childhood miss it so much about to be 27 wishing i could turn back the clock.
How are your 30s treating you?
Lego Islanders were the first Lego sets I ever got as a kid. For the next 15 years I was hooked on Lego...Why am I not playing with some right now actually?..
The 90s was so colorful
Ikr
>had adblock on to avoid commercials
>goes spesifically to watch commercials
lmao
same here
That is because commercials were better back then. Now they really stink. No pizzaz or catchy tunes.
Fr 😂
That K'nex roller coaster was my best Christmas gift for years.
K'nex >>>>>>
This is going to sound weird...but does anyone get incredibly sad and self-reflective watching these older commercials we saw as we grew up?
You would catch me tearing up from just listening to all of the intro's to the theme songs from the old kid's TV shows.Your'e are not alone.. :'/
Lovley Bones Cool I'm glad someone else feels this way too
FrankGarrett316
Lovley Bones - you're not alone. Esp. when you compare it to what you see on TV today (I rarely watch TV).... One of the best things about the Internet is we can go back and re live the memories! ;)
I feel ya man...
I randomly smile when I think of the Super Van City commercial, of course people get curious and I explain. But there are some older people (like 19-20) that ask what are Micro Machines? Then I suddenly whither up and feel old, and I'm only 29.
That pulling your strings PSA has a nice beat to it!
its funny back in the day I hated commercials, just wanted to watch the show, but i find myself watching them now for fun haha
The average Frosted Flakes commercial: "Gee Tony, I don't think I can beat those big guys!" "Don't worry Timmy, I'm a 600 pound Bengal tiger!"
You're right now that u think about it we really did move around a lot more than kids these days. I remember playing tag, freeze tag, hide and seek, mother may I, Simon says, red light green light, four square, jump rope, double Dutch jump rope, Chinese jump rope, and the two that many schools have now banned: red Rover and Dodge ball.

silentopinion
- so true, and sadly even in school, many don't know how to. They even banned some of the games from schools.
The only way we can change that is to teach our kids the cool outside games when there little maybe the neighborhood kids will join in. It seems like cellphones have taken over play time. It's sad really.
Oh how I loved Bump in the Night!
I really missed the 90's broadcast, todays comercials are not as good as these ones
Today's commercials SUCK!
"ReBoot is online and coming up next" ...and cue my tears
I think we use to play outside more than inside because of all the cousins being close and there would be a lot of kids on the block. Plus, our parents bought us toys that needed space. Besides bikes and scooters, there were other things we did like all kids of tag, red light - green light, hide and go seek. Great times.
being born in 81" these bring back memories.
I had the kissing sweet heart Cubs, but I remember when McDonald's toys were awesome! now they're just crap like a stuffed emoji? okay!
I remember all of these! Such awesome memories!!!!! I wanted that Super Van City so bad! lol
Aw man! I remembered the What a Mess bumpers! They were awesome!!
Man I miss the cartoons on ABC . Yay for being born in 93 !
My sister had those Lion King sweetheart cubs, and my brother had the stretch Armstrong. This is making me feel old. O.o
Fantastic Color Surprise! LOL I had that shit! My flowers always came out extra soggy because I would go spray-happy on those bitches! lol
Vani Jay lol
I know this is going to be WEIRD but I lost my first tooth that day. How do I know? I was seven years old, it was December, and Willy Wonka was on TV.
My mind is exploding thinking about this.
I'm 21 and I still want that fantastic sticker maker lol.
Awesome collection!
Hell yeah! I had a super van city! Still have it somewhere.
I MISS THE 90s!!! My childhood was so much fun and now kids are so missing out with all these crappy cartoons and no one plays outside anymore....
When cartoons actually played on Saturday morning. *SIGH* :)
Saturday morning cartoons are back, thanks to Me TV (which is available over the air in many parts of the country)! @@timothysprengeler4071 That's cool, but would be nice to have some adventures series as well.
Oh gawd, I remember the topsy-tail craze. I think I might even have the little plastic device stashed away in a box somewhere.
The bumpers with the dog were for a show called "What-A-Mess"
What memories...
at 7:09 why wasn't this creepy PSA shown on one of the HelloImaPizza top scariest PSAs list?
It was
Gotta love the Lego commercials....lol
i bought those Crayola Jumping Colors Markers and expected it to happen like the commercial ........i cried
Damn, I was 4 years old in 1994. Makes me kind of sad.
OinariKanji same I'm 26 since November
I'm 28
kid in the Drug -Free America PSA looks like Harry Potter IMHO LOL
OMG, I have that exact lego set at 4:04 but one of my aunts/uncles decided to take a bite out of one of the plates. And most of the pieces are missing, my grandparents did have it since 1994.
@LoonyLuna48 That's an awesome anecdote! Thanks for sharing.
oh my god, I was 8 in 94. lol god this makes me feel weird watching this again..lol
Ah, the anti-drug commercials, almost forgot about them.
I found one of my Christmas lists from this era and I could not for the life of me remember what the Pipe fight was, now I see. I miss being a kid and wanting everything, but I am glad knowing that I would of been bored if I did. But I still wish I had every Micro Machine there was as well as the play sets.

"dad only i have the key!" dad: smiles/looks inside
AHHHHH STRETCH ARMSTRONG!!!.....mine ended up ripping and the oooze started to seep out ;(
juh stretch it too far huh
I wanted Super Van City so much. I think I got it for Christmas 1996.
Jonathan Domenech Same here! Only I never got it :( lol
I lived in the Chicago Area for a long time!
only on these videos are there no youtube arguments. Pats on the back, all around!
Even these commercials are showing kids outside or actively moving their bodies. That was us.
If you are left with only two words....Lego Mania.
I know it's not the same kid but ZACK ZACK HE'S A LEGO MANIAC!
Lol those hotwheel things that never worked...
how does stretch arm strong do it? Corn Syrup, that's how...lol
Exactly! He makes quite a mess if he busts open.
I would have been very jealous of you. I did not loose my first tooth until 1997 at age 9!
:O I think I watched that airing of 'Willy Wonka'! My first time
I've never heard of these TV shows either probably cause I didn't usually have cable as a kid
Katherine Richardson t ry. eBay , u might find it their.
You know... These toys were never as fun as they made them seem in these commercials. I remember being HIGHLY disappointed with that Stretch Arm Strong.
I wanted those crayola jump markers

unfortunately the anti-marijuana commercials didn't work..
All I was thinking was that I'd like to hide some weed in that secret dog thing. haha
KellyOKellyComedy
- funny they went all out with weed in the 90's, but look at all of the prescription drug commercials we have today - with LOADS of side effects included with the commercial. lol
+ASouthernWriter (JJTV) And not to mention the lawyer ads about some of those meds.
Carlee C depends if u do it everyday i consider u as bad as an alcoholic.
It worked in me...but I got hooked on prescription opiates and then Heroin, and Fentanyl. I'm 5 years clean now. But weed should've been the last drug that they were worried about. "Gateway drug" yeah right...prescription pills were the gateway drug.
These drug commercials are so creepy
I think Travis Scott should do a video based on that puppet one lol
7:08 God, this commerical have creeped me out as a kid and it still creeps me out today. I wish they showed this instead of what they been showing lately.
Yeah, and give it a more Intense (and really catchy) soundtrack! SERIOUSLY SOMEONE MAKE A SONG OUT OF THE ORIGINAL!
FREE WILLY had an animated series? By 1994, I was only watching ABC for Reboot and the Looney Tunes. Un-freaking-real how Saturday morning TV changed in 20 years.
My birthday would be the following day (and my driver license test would be on Monday)!
This makes me wanna be a teen in the 90s /:
i would of loved topsy tail and secret pup
I swear my 5th grade teacher had K'nex rubberband racers to learn about motion.
90s, because I remember Bump in the Night. I was born in '88, so no way it was before '93 or '94. I never could keep up with plot to Bump in the Night. I liked the Sylvester and Tweety show back then tho.
I was -6 in 1994 :D
Man, there were so many anti-drug commercials specifically for Marijuana. I'm not surprised that I smoked a ton of weed during my high school years. The irony of that is that I was in the "Say No To Drugs Club" in elementary school.
Say no? Well WHY DID YOU SAY YES?!?!
Me 2 I even still have mine.
Anyone know what the show is called that keeps saying, "After These Messages?" and "Back to the Show". The one with the crazy dog?
It's not a show, that was just the "going to commercial break" spot for the ABC Saturday morning block.
I had the lego pirate set!
PIPEFIGHT!!!
those "Fantastic" sets were always such a pain to put together, & not nearly as cool as they looked on TV
I remember when that "topsy tail" hairstyles were so popular. this doll helped make that trend bigger
those Secret Keepins Pups creep me out. They're eviscerated so you can store your trinkets inside them!
@LoonyLuna48
Wow you actually remember that?! :P
And FTR I was the same age too.
i want to be born in the 90s D:
wow pot used to be the scariest thing.
i had one of those sticker things and my mom made me give it to goodwill cause she kept washing my shirts with stickers on them and runing them -_-
if i had that thing today it would be bad fuckin ass
My uncle did, apparently.
I remember wanting that van city thing so bad. I never got it. I'm kind of glad now. Looks like a crappy toy that would break easy.
Got to be honest, a lot of these toys look so cheap and crappy that it seems like this was just how they got rid of excess plastics without throwing them away.
But, of course, when I was a kid getting these toys, I didn't give a shit.
right? as a kid, we were all like, I don't give a fuck! it looks cool, let's get it! as adults, we're now like, why did I get it back then again? good times!
I made so many damn stickers. Seriously. I got like 4 refills on that stupid thing. So. Many. Stickers.
@tcm112280 lol I never did drugs. same thing I did that in elementary school. lol I was just thinking that those clubs were pretty effective but then I saw your comment lol
they dont even show hamburgers in McDonalds happy meal commercials anymore....
Free willy
who thought of Rackaracka when the macdonalds commercial came on
Pipe Fight... Pipe Fight... PIPE FIGHT... lmfao... O I can't believe I was forced to watch this shht as a kid...
You guys see the illminati emblem # 4:20
those anti drugs and school drugs programs worked 👏 27 and never done drugs.
Any one else have a mom who made her a topsy tail with a wire coat hanger?
The irony is that all those commercials are sponsored by "A Partnership for a Drug-Free America" an organization that was heavily funded by cash donations from most of the big tabacco and alcohol companies. Whose pulling those strings again?
It's so messed up that all the building toys are heavily marketed to boys... as if girls can only play with sparkle dolls.
7:08 Damn that commercial is such a bad trip
the lighting , the creepy clown music and the overall vibe is so weird.
they're just pulling your strings about P O T
Well, i think its suppose to scare the viewer to not doing the D. The music is creepy, The lighting is Swirly, The vibe is suppose to be Dont do drugs. Its suppose to make them say no. Although to me that music is really catchy!
reboot!
man i remember used to make fun of stretch armstrong's voice.. stop!!
I'm guessing that's Frank Welker doing the voiceover. It sounds very close to his voice for Scooter on The Gobots.
I'd wish Hasbro would bring back Secret Keepin's Plush. If they can bring back Puppy Surprise they can bring back Secret Keepin's Plush. :(
8:44 it's an elephant!!!!
The first thing I did with stretch Armstrong s was pull their heads off
