You can remove the front grille and the fan blade. There are 4 small latches at the back you can feel for it. The blade is fixed just by friction so you can pull it out.
Great review, you've gone into great detail and answered all the questions I had. I've gone down the rabbit hole of searching for fans and Vornado keeps popping up as a premium fan. Considering getting one of these, only problem is they are so expensive in the UK. this model alone is nearly £90..
Try searching Amazon. They have great deals if you catch them at the correct time. I have one of the very first Vornado fans I ever bought (have had it 10+ years now) and it still works amazingly well. I recently purchased (yesterday & will arrive tomorrow) an additional Vornado fan for my daughter who is 8 months old and has a bit of a higher than average body temp (like her father) even if shes just laying down sleeping. The reason I purchased the Vornado from Amazon which, after taxes were collected came to $85.19 (£64.36) for the medium sized 560 whole room air circulator vs another fan is because I trust the quality & performance of the Vornado line. As I mentioned, I have had my current Vornado vor more than 10 years. They are absolutely worth every single penny. I hope this helps (I know this post is from almost a year ago, but I still thought I'd mention its soooooo worth it) and I hope you have/will choose a Vornado!
Is it okay to put an old box fan on the window (about 4 feet from the ground) and use a vornado on the floor? Will it negate the effect of the vornado?
