I've some thoughts on my early Spring Garden, here in Hopalong Hollow. And some further thoughts on another garden; The Garden of Gethsemane, the Real Easter garden.
I'll be baking a yummy Easter Brunch with Cherry tarts and Asparagus Cheese Pie!

Recipes:
Asparagus Cheese Pie
Large pie crust of your choice
2 cups Shredded Colby/ Monterey Jack Cheese blend
1 1/2 lbs. Asparagus
2 large eggs
1/1/2 cups Half and half
1 large onion
2 Tbsp Butter
salt and pepper to your taste
2 Tbsp Dijon mustard to be spread on pie crust before filling
Orange Cranberry punch
1 can frozen orange juice
1 cup Cranberry juice
3 cups sparkling water
1/2 sugar is optional
Cherry pies
Pie crust and canned Cherry pie filling...this is the easy way!

It has taken me 42 years to get my garden into an almost perfect state here in Michigan. On January 26th, my basement flooded and the sewer line that connects to the city line broke during a torrential rain. Four separate companies had to clean my basement, remove the water, snake the sewer lines and repair the massive break. They had to excavate my yard 12 ft deep and 20 feet wide. $20,000 later, I have a 8 by 10 ft mound of clay and dirt in the center of my yard. My house was built in 1937. So it was very difficult to locate the city sewer. They have to let the clay mound settle and will not remove it. I am heartbroken and very depressed. The large equipment destroyed my 42 year old garden completely. God decided to surprise me with an Easter blessing. My daffodils are blooming today even though we had snow last week. Don’t despair. Just count your blooms instead of your weeds.
Oh my dear, I feel your pain, such a loss. But then, the Daffodils are blooming!
I'm so sorry that happened and that you had to pay so much to have your garden torn up. I guess you can stat planning and plotting out what you will do with it next. I'm thankful you still have some blooms in other places and bulbs to take up and separate, those well be free to start your new garden with.

Jeri this was a most endearing video, my favorite in fact. In the beginning you mentioned a Stumpery Garden, not there is a gardner after thin own heart. I always think of spring as a Renewal but like your association with Christ's Resurrection better. Yes a garden is full with memories of loved ones, times passed and possibilities for the future. I deeply enjoyed your story of Christ and the garden and often sign my favorite song "In The Garden"

Wild gardens are the most beautiful to me! So natural and unexpected.
Just like you, if I could write a country western song about all the plants I’ve ever loved and lost, I’d probably be a millionaire 😊. However, there are those plants that weather through everything and have been with me for 30+ years. I try my best to keep everything going and some plants, on the other hand, will surprise me and come up a year after I thought they had disappeared. I guess gardening is really a test of faith and I must admit, it is where I feel God’s presence the most, especially when a wild rabbit hops slowly by me as I’m on the ground weeding or I get to hear a bird singing nearby. I also learned to share the garden with the wild animals as well by planting clover and letting some parts be wild, and like you, providing some protective cover over some plants that they particularly like, but not excluding them totally. Some people where I live hate the rabbits, but don’t realize what a hard life they live. Around here, they are preyed upon by owls, coyotes, people’s dogs and cats, and weasels, and they also succumb to cars and are wiped out quickly by disease. However, if you’ve ever had one as a pet, you might know that they are one of the sweetest animals and can be just as affectionate as any dog or cat.
Anyway, thank you for the tour of your wonderful garden and may you also have a lovely Easter. 🐇🪺🐇
Rabbits are so gentle and sweet...it's rather sad they have such a rough time staying alive in the wild. We had a pet rabbit when my boys were young.

Oh Jeri, this is a most beautiful post. Reminding us all of the true meaning of Easter. What is more revealing of the Resurrection than the garden . New growth and new birth! In that one awesome paragraph you told the story of Jesus's ministry. Your deep abiding faith has always shown in your lovely gardens, your home filled with joyful memories and your reverence for all living things. I always wait in total anticipation for your videos.

What a beautiful video!
I love the natural sounds of nature in the background and especially your dog snoring! Unlike other videos with pre-recorded birds and nature sounds, it kind of defeats the whole purpose of the "nature experience".
It is also very refreshing to hear the praises of God and how you so lovingly speak about his sacrifice for us all.
