    I really benefited from your teaching of the forehand and backhand. I think you are the best. Your explanation on both strokes was very precise and easily understood. The results were astonishing for myself and my students too. Thank you, Rick. Wished I known you earlier. John Boon

    Almost perfect instruction. Toss, bend, tilt.. and COIL... you need to rotate your hips and shoulders away from the court as you're tossing the ball, and should be fully coiled in the "trophy position". Racket entering is spot on. Thank you Rick!

    I guess there are different opinions about the serve - a Sanchez Casal Coach and former ATP pro said to me most power comes from the front leg/hip. Also many pros, especially Sampras have a big lag between both arms rather than going up together.

    Advance to 20:15 for the key components of the service motion (leg drive, elbow up).

      @@kingarthurusatenniscoach1415 yes, I know who he was. They should have inducted him to the Hall of Fame. He was probably the best teacher of serve at his time. However, I have to say there are so many ways to hit a monster serve, just look at the top pros. I think it is good to look at and try some new techniques, otherwise we will be just as good as our teachers and stay at the same level of decades ago. Thank you for your note. Keep playing and ace your opponents along the way !

    Anyone know if these tips are to increase speed, or if it was ment generaly as to increase consistancy, speed ++?

  • @chtomlin

    No, lol, leg drive augments racket loading well before racket speed...

    • @chtomlin
      @chtomlin 5 лет назад

      no, it isn't a hesitation Rick, it's hitting the stops and when your are really good with the timing, you get a bounce off those stops that adds explosion into the motion.

      @@charlesfisher3983 he tried to claim he coached her, which is pretty funny for him to use her as an example of someone not well coached to serve, lol. Truth is he didn't really coach her and is likely taking shots at her partly for that reason. But yes, she struggled with her serve consistency....probably for the usual boring reason....inconsistent and poorly placed toss.

      Danh Dang why do you say that? I took a lot of lessons and never knew I have to make the racquet come down and go up by jumping up. I thought I had to have the racquet down when I bend and only hit up as I jump. And the way he raises the racquet is more efficient, just out side the right shoulder. I was always bring the racquet up pointing to the back and was slow to get the racquet up. it will be good if you give the reason for saying what you are saying.
