I see that “too good” range of shoulder external rotation can be a problem. Most of us when we get to the trophy position our shoulder stops or gets tight in external rotation and the racquet head keeps going causing forearm supination. People with extreme shoulder external rotation range just keep externally rotating past the trophy position without supinating and they drop early and get the racquet stuck behind them. This is especially common in young girls. Of course the real question is how do you fix it?
