Yes, but their armor is also "beige", the color of the sand, and it would be appropriate for that terrains, because it allows you to camouflage better with the environment than with the normal white standard armor.

Plus, most gear they have that isn't a cooling unit is extra food and water. You don't need that on a populated military base that already has food and water for (most of the time) 3-4 times the people they actually hold.

My headcanon is that they were from other planets/cities and just rotated to Endor. Also it would be expensive to paint armour specially for a specific planet so it's cheaper to keep it white.
It was because the empire wanted to strike fear in the rebels. To have obvious white armor that could be seen a mile away, which indicates arrogance and the fact that the empire would allow them to be shot down, only to have more, which was meant to demoralise the rebels.

Marines are trained to fight anywhere and are universal troopers. The galactic marines have face masks for sand AND snow and other debris. The Shoretroopers are specifically for that enviroment, which is rare. They're actually the opposite.

0326Ghost well since spaceship fleets are considered a Navy the regular stormtroopers could be considered marines. Or it's the case where they are both Marines and soldiers in the Army but have no distinct markings. Modern day marines aren't restricted to beaches either.

Stormtroopers are already, in effect, marines. Like the marines, they are a ground force under the navy. Yes, Stormtroopers are not army forces. So shore troopers are technically just more specialized marines, in a sense.

The Death Star conference room was protected by Naval Troopers who can be seen in the background, and supposedly the troopers seen in the Death Star were handpicked from other Navy regiments by Tarkin. I imagine the Death Troopers, given that they are actually ISB rather then Navy, Army or Stormtrooper Corps, are kept as gaurds when gaurds are needed that can be subject to classified projects and information, such as Krennic's various little escapades.
Yes, this comment was slightly mentioned in the video but the Hovertank had no need for Tatooine because they were not transporting any cargo and the tank wouldn't have really worked because they were searching for Droids.
Shoretroopers to me don't really fit I mean sure they have more training and are more specialised but specialised troops were primarily used solely on specific planets e.g. Sandtroopers were solely used on Desert planets, EVO Troopers were used on Raxus Prime and other extremely dangerous planets.On Scarif they still had standard stormtroopers on the planet who fought without major hindrance but again if the sole purpose of Shoretroopers is to conduct combat in tropical environments they should be the only troops on those planets otherwise their role is pretty much useless and should just be Stormtroopers. As for the Imperial combat assault tank pilot, they are almost useless and the role could have been easily filled in by a Vehicle Command Crewer.

I've noticed that Death Troopers tend to guard a very specific flavor of Imperial Officer. The kind that would not only be at risk of being assassinated, but would also be present in locations where such an attempt could happen. Since Navy officers are surrounded by friendly personnel already there really isn't a reason to have them be guarded given the considerable difficulty a would-be assassin would have infiltrating an Imperial ship or station.

I think the reason the Shore Troopers were needed was not for sandy environments but for places were there were high levels of salt water, as passably the normal stormptrooper armour might rust over time. So I think that's why the shore troopers weren't needed on a desert planet like Tatooine, because they are only needed for long-term stays on salty planets
I think that sand troopers are also just improvised troops. I mean Vader followed Leia to a random jump that just-so-happen to land in Tatooine. Aka, Hutt Space. One thing I think that went overboard with is the troopers from Solo. They definitely could have just used standard armor in the trooper scenes.

If we see tank crew operators again, I'd rather if they looked more "shiny", like regular Stormtroopers. One of the big differences between the Stormtroopers of the Empire and FO and the clone troopers of the Republic is that I can see the Empire forcing its troops to keep their armour as clean as possible as often as possible. Sand troopers and shore troopers have to deal with an environment that makes it difficult to keep their armour in mint condition. And I can forgive the Tank-troopers for not being "regulation clean" in this case, because they were on Jedha, and because they probably saw action against Saw Guererra's Rebels every day.
well I think the shore trooper was more trained in also tracking through tropical environments like bog land and dense forests that's why (at least to me) they look almost a cross between a range trooper and a scout trooper as there armor needed to compensate for using speeders over water/mud and climbing through forest (so to me) they probably had more padding in the chest for falling off bikes and rocks. and my headcanon for why the tank troopers have those fins on their chin is a anti-decapitation prevention and shrapnel deflector as they would be sticking there head out the port from time to time and might take fire that could hit them in the neck (much like the EOD helmet from halo)
I believe the tank operators are in Star Wars rebels, I BELIEVE. When the rebels were disguised at Lothal, when they were escaping tanks like those came to the area. The same with the episode with the wolves.
I like to think the shore troopers were used on islands, archipelagos, coasts, wetlands and tropical jungle environments, but from what I’ve heard, these planets weren’t usually colonised due to their environments being hard to expand into due to the trees and heavy foliage, which made them popular among rebel cells, smugglers and fugitives. Their still probably are quite a couple of these planets due to the Star Wars galaxies expansiveness though. I could definitely see them among scout troopers and the people who say, ‘why not Sandtroopers?’, you do know that islands, archipelagos and tropics aren’t exactly the same as desert environments.
From what I read in the illustrated guide the shore troopers were pretty much the only ones on the planet that live fire trained let alone trained for an invasion and resented the other troopers for their lax attitudes.
I can see why I'm canon people want to figure out why certain thing didn't exist in the original movies but honestly it's chalked down to they had to work with limitations that we don't have today

I kind of just assumed that most of the Shoretroopers were wiped out when the Death Star fired on Scariff. The tank drivers were likely just phased out with the Assault Tank and they moved on to being AT-AT Drivers and AT-ST Drivers in the OT. Our military utilizes different uniforms for different missions or environments, so it only makes sense that the Empire would as well. (Kind of like how the Shocktroopers in Eposode 3 were most likely just the Emperor’s Royal Guards in their combat gear.) EDIT: I just remembered that the tank drivers appeared in The Mandalorian, which takes place after ROTJ, so I guess they were just another variant of Imperial Drivers for vehicles that weren’t walkers.
AT AT guys we’re probably more specialized and needed more training so they probably got a different uniform so when getting ready they don’t get mistaken as tank drivers and você versat
I don't think that shoretroopers and sandtroopers would be interchangeable because shoretroopers were trained to operate in specifically a tropical environment, aka they would also be trained to fight in water, while sandtroopers are trained to fight in deserts (and there are a lot more desert planets than tropical). that being said they could easily create a variant common to both environments
I wouldn’t say the shore Troopers outranked normal stormtroopers. However, I would say they were held at a higher level of training and equipment. Therefore, would of been better payed. As for the tank Troopers. The pilot (driver) would of held the rank of Trooper. The gunner in all probability would been a corporal and the commander a sergeant. In the case of a Tank platoon/Troop x4 Tanks. The commanders as follows-Lieutenant (troop commander), Sergeant Major (troop sergeant) and x2 Sergeants Commanding the remaining tanks.
The tank troopers helmets flared out at the bottom more than the shore troopers, making them different, and we saw the technicians on the deathstar in the original trilogy. Please correct me if I'm wrong
These video's question is so easy to answer, these types of Stormtroopers are never seen in the og trilogy because some died in the first Death Star Explosion, These remaining types of stormtroopers are scattered everywhere in the galaxy and they are in Vader's Executor and other Imperial Star Destroyers in Empire and I think a few only of these variants are in the galaxy after the final Death Star Explosion in ROTJ.
As far as Star Wars goes we only get glimpses into a very large galaxy with each movie of TV show it's very likely there are hundreds of variations of Imperial armored personnel that we have not seen. I for one love all the variations because it allows the audience to see a much larger force that is the Empire.
We've yet to see the regular army troopers in any of the movies, haven't we? I mean they compromised of the majority of the Army, so i'm still surprised we've not seen any of them yet. It's just stormtrooper, stormtrooper, stormtrooper
There are lots of "technician troopers" in the original trilogy. They can easily be seen operating the death stars lasers, however, I believe the troopers shown in these scenes have minor differences.
Sand troopers would be a terrible idea to be used instead of a shore troopers at Scarif. Sand troopers specialized for the desert. The shore troopers are made for tropical environments. A desert and a tropical area are TWO DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS with very different problems people have to handle. (Example: Certain shirt fabrics cannot last long in a tropical rain forest conditions. The rain, heat, humidity, and etc. can literally make them rot away if kept under environmental exposure to the elements for too long. Then there is the fact in tropical climates there is more risk of infections from a normal cut wound. It's because organisms and parasites love the warm and moist conditions. Tropical environments is where you find the most abundant range of bacteria, fungus, viruses, and parasites existing. The key for a tropical survival is keeping dry, sanitation, and mud. Too much water can be your enemy in the jungle. A desert environment you have to worry about microscopic sand collecting over time on surfaces that can jam things up or cause issues. The way the military solves the problem on their vehicles is by spraying them with extremely high pressure water from a devise to wash it off. The key is dealing with temperatures, having enough water, and the dust particles. Having a lot of water is your friend in the desert.)
I think there is already a comment like this here, but the short answer for this video is that none of the troopers mentioned here existed in the original trilogy they werent even designed or drawn. Thats why they didnt appear in the movies.

We didn’t see anyone if them in the OT is because rogue one did take place before OT but it was released 30 years later so that’s why they never appeared in the OT and also they decided to add new troopers for no reason

Actually the imperial technicians where operating the death star. You can see them in the original series prepping the death star to destroy Alderon
They are still not the same, look closer at the back of their helmets and uniform.
There technically the same only with different equipment and assigned areas/ships/station/etc.
And Imperial Gunners would also wear that kind of uniforms and most likely be trained technicians as well.
In real life, the military is always changing their looks so it's not to far fetched to say they are the same.
They may have been relatively new to the universe, but their designs fit perfectly and that's what I like about their designs

I imagine the Death Troopers, given that they are actually ISB rather then Navy, Army or Stormtrooper Corps, are kept as gaurds when gaurds are needed that can be subject to classified projects and information, such as Krennic's various little escapades.

Shoretroopers to me don't really fit I mean sure they have more training and are more specialised but specialised troops were primarily used solely on specific planets e.g. Sandtroopers were solely used on Desert planets, EVO Troopers were used on Raxus Prime and other extremely dangerous planets.On Scarif they still had standard stormtroopers on the planet who fought without major hindrance but again if the sole purpose of Shoretroopers is to conduct combat in tropical environments they should be the only troops on those planets otherwise their role is pretty much useless and should just be Stormtroopers. As for the Imperial combat assault tank pilot, they are almost useless and the role could have been easily filled in by a Vehicle Command Crewer.
He forgot to mention they're also called scarif troopers. My theory is they were exclusive to the planet, scarif. it's Simple, they were all wiped out!

I've noticed that Death Troopers tend to guard a very specific flavor of Imperial Officer. The kind that would not only be at risk of being assassinated, but would also be present in locations where such an attempt could happen. Since Navy officers are surrounded by friendly personnel already there really isn't a reason to have them be guarded given the considerable difficulty a would-be assassin would have infiltrating an Imperial ship or station.

Remember space troopers from the OT? We saw them and knew they existed even though they weren't commented on or spoken of. They do it all the time for the new comics. Hell, magma troopers are considered OT even though they only appeared in Battlefront. Simply because Sollust was never visited in the OT and they could insert a new type of trooper.

I think the reason the Shore Troopers were needed was not for sandy environments but for places were there were high levels of salt water, as passably the normal stormptrooper armour might rust over time. So I think that's why the shore troopers weren't needed on a desert planet like Tatooine, because they are only needed for long-term stays on salty planets

I think that sand troopers are also just improvised troops. I mean Vader followed Leia to a random jump that just-so-happen to land in Tatooine. Aka, Hutt Space. One thing I think that went overboard with is the troopers from Solo. They definitely could have just used standard armor in the trooper scenes.

If we see tank crew operators again, I'd rather if they looked more "shiny", like regular Stormtroopers.
One of the big differences between the Stormtroopers of the Empire and FO and the clone troopers of the Republic is that I can see the Empire forcing its troops to keep their armour as clean as possible as often as possible.
Sand troopers and shore troopers have to deal with an environment that makes it difficult to keep their armour in mint condition.
And I can forgive the Tank-troopers for not being "regulation clean" in this case, because they were on Jedha, and because they probably saw action against Saw Guererra's Rebels every day.

well I think the shore trooper was more trained in also tracking through tropical environments like bog land and dense forests that's why (at least to me) they look almost a cross between a range trooper and a scout trooper as there armor needed to compensate for using speeders over water/mud and climbing through forest (so to me) they probably had more padding in the chest for falling off bikes and rocks. and my headcanon for why the tank troopers have those fins on their chin is a anti-decapitation prevention and shrapnel deflector as they would be sticking there head out the port from time to time and might take fire that could hit them in the neck (much like the EOD helmet from halo)

I believe the tank operators are in Star Wars rebels, I BELIEVE. When the rebels were disguised at Lothal, when they were escaping tanks like those came to the area. The same with the episode with the wolves.

I like to think the shore troopers were used on islands, archipelagos, coasts, wetlands and tropical jungle environments, but from what I’ve heard, these planets weren’t usually colonised due to their environments being hard to expand into due to the trees and heavy foliage, which made them popular among rebel cells, smugglers and fugitives. Their still probably are quite a couple of these planets due to the Star Wars galaxies expansiveness though.
I could definitely see them among scout troopers and the people who say, ‘why not Sandtroopers?’, you do know that islands, archipelagos and tropics aren’t exactly the same as desert environments.
The Biker Scouts were my favorites from the Original Trilogy, but the Death Troopers are my new favorites.
From what I read in the illustrated guide the shore troopers were pretty much the only ones on the planet that live fire trained let alone trained for an invasion and resented the other troopers for their lax attitudes.
I can see why I'm canon people want to figure out why certain thing didn't exist in the original movies but honestly it's chalked down to they had to work with limitations that we don't have today

I kind of just assumed that most of the Shoretroopers were wiped out when the Death Star fired on Scariff. The tank drivers were likely just phased out with the Assault Tank and they moved on to being AT-AT Drivers and AT-ST Drivers in the OT.
Our military utilizes different uniforms for different missions or environments, so it only makes sense that the Empire would as well. (Kind of like how the Shocktroopers in Eposode 3 were most likely just the Emperor’s Royal Guards in their combat gear.)
EDIT: I just remembered that the tank drivers appeared in The Mandalorian, which takes place after ROTJ, so I guess they were just another variant of Imperial Drivers for vehicles that weren’t walkers.
AT AT guys we’re probably more specialized and needed more training so they probably got a different uniform so when getting ready they don’t get mistaken as tank drivers and você versat

I don't think that shoretroopers and sandtroopers would be interchangeable because shoretroopers were trained to operate in specifically a tropical environment, aka they would also be trained to fight in water, while sandtroopers are trained to fight in deserts (and there are a lot more desert planets than tropical). that being said they could easily create a variant common to both environments
I wouldn’t say the shore Troopers outranked normal stormtroopers. However, I would say they were held at a higher level of training and equipment. Therefore, would of been better payed.
As for the tank Troopers. The pilot (driver) would of held the rank of Trooper. The gunner in all probability would been a corporal and the commander a sergeant. In the case of a Tank platoon/Troop x4 Tanks. The commanders as follows-Lieutenant (troop commander), Sergeant Major (troop sergeant) and x2 Sergeants Commanding the remaining tanks.

These video's question is so easy to answer, these types of Stormtroopers are never seen in the og trilogy because some died in the first Death Star Explosion, These remaining types of stormtroopers are scattered everywhere in the galaxy and they are in Vader's Executor and other Imperial Star Destroyers in Empire and I think a few only of these variants are in the galaxy after the final Death Star Explosion in ROTJ.

As far as Star Wars goes we only get glimpses into a very large galaxy with each movie of TV show it's very likely there are hundreds of variations of Imperial armored personnel that we have not seen. I for one love all the variations because it allows the audience to see a much larger force that is the Empire.

There are lots of "technician troopers" in the original trilogy. They can easily be seen operating the death stars lasers, however, I believe the troopers shown in these scenes have minor differences.

Sand troopers would be a terrible idea to be used instead of a shore troopers at Scarif. Sand troopers specialized for the desert. The shore troopers are made for tropical environments. A desert and a tropical area are TWO DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS with very different problems people have to handle.
(Example: Certain shirt fabrics cannot last long in a tropical rain forest conditions. The rain, heat, humidity, and etc. can literally make them rot away if kept under environmental exposure to the elements for too long. Then there is the fact in tropical climates there is more risk of infections from a normal cut wound. It's because organisms and parasites love the warm and moist conditions. Tropical environments is where you find the most abundant range of bacteria, fungus, viruses, and parasites existing. The key for a tropical survival is keeping dry, sanitation, and mud. Too much water can be your enemy in the jungle.
A desert environment you have to worry about microscopic sand collecting over time on surfaces that can jam things up or cause issues. The way the military solves the problem on their vehicles is by spraying them with extremely high pressure water from a devise to wash it off. The key is dealing with temperatures, having enough water, and the dust particles. Having a lot of water is your friend in the desert.)

I think there is already a comment like this here, but the short answer for this video is that none of the troopers mentioned here existed in the original trilogy they werent even designed or drawn. Thats why they didnt appear in the movies.
