can we ALL take a minute to appreciate how creatively awesome the music designers were to be able to compress a full musical theme in 16-bits (which was really just double 8-bits at the time) and be able to transmit all kinds of feelings and emotions: as an example this music has the ability to bring you to the edge, setting your mind for what is the end of your adventure, the final battle, facing your nemesis, i swear of god my 8 YO self clench the controller has tight as it could when i hear the first bits and my heart raced knowing that i will be about to finish the adventure. and even know almost 30 years later, with a whole gamer life behind me and have being played the most awesome games such as Skyrim and Castlevania SOTN, i still think this Soundtrack for the whole game, is one of the best soundtracks ever.

You have no ability to transform to the Super Form yet until the second game, you have to fight with your own will, courage, speed and skill to save the planet from it's doom under the hands of this brilliant scientist with the goal to conquist it._

What's great about this music is that is has a now or never feeling to it. I imagine Sonic thinking "This ends here, Robotnik". It's a showdown tune, not a boss theme, and it helps that the zone is called "Final Zone" as opposed to something creative.

I'm going to write an epic orchestra cover for this. It just sounds so epic and just like emotionally gravitating. Something about it. The only thing that keeps it from sounding perfect and taking you completely elsewhere into a uncomfortable yet familiar field.. But wouldn't the repetitiveness cause the uncanny feeling to cycle. Something big is coming. You don't have any rings. no save states. It's crazy

For as much as this really gives that "final boss" vibe, little did we know back then that this was just one of maybe hundreds of final fights with Eggman. Lol
