In the 1980s, Chongqing was still a small town. Because it was a mountainous area, the transportation was very inconvenient. Transportation on both sides of the Yangtze River could only rely on wooden boats. Now, Chongqing is one of the best cities in China. The progress of China's infrastructure in the past ten years has made Chongqing's traffic and transportation much more convenient.
Considering the great war times and the Chinese Revolutions between the Nationalist and the Communist after the War, chongqing today is just beyond my imagination.

Even Chairman Mao deserves some of the credits even though there were many missteps and mistakes which led to pain and sufferings for our previous generations under his watch. It was part of his original ideas and visions to open up China and learn from the west if china was to move forward and grow. Every nation on the planet has a dark part of history in their journey to becoming fully fledged countries. We will have to be the luckiest generation alive cos we get all the good bits to just enjoy. My thoughts still goes out to the less fortunate people around the world and hope that better days are on the horizons for you as well. Please let China help if you get the chance and it will expedite your journey out of hardships. Also let the world live in peace and the Warmongering nations come to their senses soon.
