This is wonderful. I love that Steve spends half of the "solos" putting his guitar back on. It's an interesting and cool way to hold your guitar. its not really great for putting on and taking it off multiple times in a song. GOD I LOVE THESE MEN AND THEIR ART- even the airplane
Something bigger than Steve Albini himself has gone with his sudden death, something wich was crystal pure, something he protected but also shared to the world. He was a guardian of the temple, the temple of a vision of music that fought to be loyal, that fought to be honest and fought to just be. Man there was so much left to stand for. Bye Steve.
Thank you for everything, Steve. Your music (Big Black) was pivotal in saving my sanity, and likely my life, during the darkest time I've ever experienced. I am sad that I will never get the chance to thank you in person, but I will cherish your art that you've given to all of us. RIP Legend.
Steve Albini was not Grunge or anything to be compared with, he was himself and he never gave a fuck if anybody bought in on it. Edit: and we should all be a little more like Steve. RIP, Steve. I send love to all of you.
honest. one of the most honest people ive ever had the pleasure of hearing. bob, todd, and steve were so much fun to see. Horseshoe tavern, Toronto, sometime in the late aughts. RIP Steve.
Back in the 90s, when everyone and their brother was listening to Nirvana, I was proud to play them Big Black, Rapeman or Shellac. RIP Steve you were an inspiration to all of us cool kids.
I had no idea Steve passed. Steve was my favorite musician/producer. I started playing guitar in 03 but I listened to bands my sister who is 14 years older than me and my parents never listened to much younger. We had a record store still do called Looney toons on long island NY. Learned about sir lord Baltimore, wishbone ash, the obsessed, kyuss,Shellac etc.. Steve was my hero when I finally had the ability to read about him only a week and a half away from my birthday he passed. Didn't even know. I only wanted to learn analog recording and my amazing guitar teacher Steve did analog as well. Heart broken please spread these bands and these memories
Can’t believe he died. RIP Steve and thanks for all the knowledge and wisdom shared…
one of the greatest to ever do it
I can't either. Glad I saw them before he went
I wanted to see Shellac so bad before I died. I’m so bummed he’s gone. My fav guitarist ever.
Same.
That bass tone is legendary

Not gonna lie, I cried when I heard the news. RIP Steve Albini
I'm not gonna lie, I think you lied right after saying "not" so there's that.
@@AuntAlnico4 Hey look, it's an asshole!
Can't believe he's gone. Right before the new album comes out, too. Heartbreaking. Rest in Peace, Mr. Albini.🤘
RIP Steve, thanks for these great flights, plane.
Fortunate enough to see Shellac at the last two editions, Primavera is never going to be the same again!

RIP Steve Albini 🎸 you're on a plane
Kurt Cobain I'm on a plain 😅
6:36 I love that ending where the guitar and the bass is detuning and slowing down to full stop, like a tape machine.
one of the times where the term "icon" was not misplaced.
I saw Shellac five times….. I had always hoped to get to see them again…..
Sad day. Albini will be missed and was an inspiration to the whole music scene.
Oh, man... RIP, Steve... So many albums we loved!
Back in the 90s, when everyone and their brother was listening to Nirvana, I was proud to play them Big Black, Rapeman or Shellac. RIP Steve you were an inspiration to all of us cool kids.

it must be almost 30 years since i saw these guys live...im old
was thinking the same thing. equally wild that they're still playing almost 30 years later.
Bob Weston learned to play bass on my Gilbert jazz bass copy over 40 years ago! That's old! He wasn't fat then either.
I'll never get to see them
First tune is so Jesus Lizard. Do not know who inspired who , but its damn great. R.i.p
Thank you Steve RIP 🙏
Bass tone launched a thousand tones. Dirtier than my wife. RIP Albini. Legend.
I'll dearly miss him :(
RIP Mr. Albini. Turn up the Mahalia when you get there and give my best to Dave Riley.
This fucking hurts
RIP Steve. Gone far too soon.
When it sounds dope even when recorded from a shitty phone
Farewell, Steve. :(
In Chicago, gonna pay respects at Electrical Audio tomorrow morning
Steve playing through an Orange is unexpected
Nevertheless, their sound is unchanged
Just the speakers I imagine
@@nickjbland Nah, I see a head as well. Probably daisy chained tbh
@@MandibularmenaceI think this is just random gear they use when touring outside the US
his Intersound IVP is below the orange head though, which is probably the key part to his sound
LEGEND
